Would people like a 2026 discussion thread, or would you all be happier with an "Ongoing" instead of year by year? Now that people are racing to be First on social media, there is less of a battle here and much more measured conversation. @ me or quote me with whichever is best

Eurobricks 2026 Event Germany - General Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
Thanks both! @Holodoc that sounds excellent, I can look at flights. Fortunately being in May next year means I can participate in the April dated 40th Wedding Anniversary for my parents (I was very glad to see the dates!). -
MOCability of themes heavy on the old grays (and browns)
Peppermint_M replied to Xfing's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I prefer a "Neo" approach with more detail and new shapes to create a build that reflects what I saw in my imagination. Like the contrast between a colouring page and something by Moebius. So I use new colours and new parts without mixing the grey shades. I do use varied shades of grey where the build is supposed to be stone, or something in nature, or a build that does not need me to use modern parts. Otherwise the old grey is consigned to the role of filler with stained/scratched bricks. Old or new, a 2x4 brick will always be a 2x4 brick! -
Eurobricks 2026 Event Germany - General Discussion
Peppermint_M replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Events and User Groups
As I said in the sign-up thread: I want to come, but assistance with travel between an airport and wherever we will stay would be massively appreciated. Whether that is someone who can help me with an itinerary for the train or bus, or someone who knows they will be passing by an airport who can pick me up. Or if you pass through the central train terminal in Munich/will be arriving at an airport and we can meet. My German goes only as far as ordering beer! Billund is nice and easy for me to navigate, but the greater distances involved with this event are a bit stressful. Of course, I can pay my fair share for fuel, and I can follow travel instructions if anyone has a step by step. I have a vague memory of Munich Airport, the main station, Pasing and then Günzburg. It has been a while between lockdown and my sister's wedding pushing visits back. -

I would love to come! However I would appreciate assistance with travel onward from an airport! I will post more in the discussion thread. -
Has anyone here worked on LEGO sets as corporate gifts?
Peppermint_M replied to Max1FSV's topic in Community
A long time ago (I just realised) a fellow staff member (now sadly long moved on from the forum) shared the gift set they had designed. According to them, it was very well received but also a bit of a pain to source parts for, they had chosen to use some that were retired so it was more of a task to get the parts in the needed quantaties. If you want to create sets as a gift, try to choose parts that are not rare/discontinued. What sort of thing were you thinking of? Something mostly made of standard parts would be easier than a build that needs something more specialised. Bricks and Pieces on the LEGO Shop, Bricklink or the Pick a Brick wall can supply a lot of basic parts and that will reduce costs. -
Bricklink and LEGO.com Account Merge
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That sucks. My main issue is always forgetting my password, so that is fun. Between the strict rules for passwords in my workplace (usually two, one for Windows and one for the work system. Not considering the pin number for the handheld Zebra scanner....) the passwords I have to create/use for other sites and all the other myriad security considerations. I am very bad at recalling my actual password for LEGO. Ah well. I am yet to order from Bricklink recently (I have sorting guilt.) But have a few wishlists to fill and more than one sketched out project to complete. -
I really love the "floating" island style, the rockwork and the linking bridges just tick some boxes for me. Those roof designs are also fantastic. Thank for sharing this, though maybe a few Ninjago figures sprinkled in you could have posted it in Action and Adventure

Bricklink and LEGO.com Account Merge
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, I have both linked and without any of the headaches others had. I will see how things go in the future, but I have never been OK with TLG owning the major Fan market. I will remain vigilant! -
Hello... or is it goodbye?
Peppermint_M replied to DarthTwoShedsJackson's topic in Hello! My name is...
As the OG "Queen of the Clone Brands" I feel your pain. While "custom" figure parts can sneak in, the brick segregation is a real issue as competitor brands grow in quality. I keep things apart to ensure conformity to display rules (For cons etc) but it is no reason to not post MOCs. In fact, I would say that posting "mixed" MOCs would be fine as long as you are not entering a contest that specifies LEGO purity. (Something that has to be conformed to when prizes are provided or sponsored by TLG). It would not be deception if you shared that you used certain other brand parts in a build, nor problematic if you are upfront with it. -
Problem with Game Boy lenticular screen?
Peppermint_M replied to StudWorks's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I checked mine and i don't get the Nintendo cloning at most angles, so I would call that an OK lenticular. Sound is slightly out of line too, but that is not something I am concerned for. Honestly, I love the whole thing, so I might have overlooked a few variations. (Also, I am keeping the Zelda one "loaded" as I love LoZ). -
Superb build! I like the posing of the figure and those arms down to the hands are a great future for a less than subtle strength. Thanks for sharing this MOC, Action Figures in LEGO still live as long as fans MOC!

Bricklink and LEGO.com Account Merge
Peppermint_M replied to Peppermint_M's topic in General LEGO Discussion
It would have been easier for me to merge if I could ever remember my LEGO.com password. Though it is all sorted now. I will miss my old BL avatar, but at least I can keep my username. I am somewhat attached to this name I chose something like 20 years ago... -
Ok, so this is actual art. Fantastic part usage, it is indeed a sculpture from LEGO elements. Absolutely amazing.
