  1. Well, good luck with the race. Please post here how everything went.
  2. Absolutetly? Great idea. Can you create a topic (or anyone else for that matter)? Besides a 3rd RCB, there is also the question about a LDD design contest like we did last year. I could look into if we could get some sponsored prices from TLG. Last year we had two classes - 1) Only LDD and 2) LDD + Physical bricks. If anyone has any ideas about other ways for running such contest, speak up .
  3. Hello Can you be a bit more specific about exactly when the error occurs and also the exact error message.
  4. In case you haven't noticed, our LXF MOC indexer KielDaMan has today been promoted to Star Wars Moderator. Huge congratulations to him. And naturally it's great to see an LDD fan on the SW team - we're spreading like a virus Also, while I'm at it: as of last week the LDD forum is no longer the smallest forum on Eurobricks surpassing our Brick Flick friends. Hurray! Naturally there's no competition or so, but still nice to see that we are a lot of people that tend to have that digital design perspective of LEGO building. Thanks everyone for making this the best place for LDD talk and a great place for general digital design discussions. (Coincidently the BrickFlick and comics forum in some respects have a lot to do with LDD - just look at the great work of Randal where he is using LDD to create his comics) I think we are in for an interesting future with LDD, and from what can be guessed so does TLG. LDD has just changed physics engine from Havok to Vortex, which is a true physics engine - so I'm guessing we can expect a lot of cool features in the future - simulation, gravity, stability control. It's good to know that TLG has a long term plan for LDD. Also, other LEGO Cad tools are doing good. It's fantastic to see Sergios relentless work with SR3D and in many respects he is in the forefront of Lego CAD development. The only uncertainty may be LDraw and MLCad which hasn't been developed for some time. I can just hope that there will be some development, because LDraw is still the most powerful LEGO CAD-tool out there and I personally really like that it's fan driven. I closing this little talk with some nice stats for our forum: 713,720 views 7526 posts 164 MOCs in the LXF MOC index (Indexer: KielDaMan) ~1400 models in the Official sets topic (Indexer: Calabar)
  5. And yet another cool feature of LEGO Cad.
  6. Really nice video. It seems like the major problem is traction for the wheels. Correct? I guess it would be nice if LEGO had wheels with low pressure inside
  7. Absolutely great work Bojan. I particularly like how you disected the motor and drive shafts. Another ultimate cool feature of LEGO Cad
  8. If you want to upload a LXF to Eurobricks, you have to change the name to .zip for it to work (EB will not natively accept LXF-files). Otherwise, Brickdoctor's advice is the best - to start an account at Brickshelf. The good thing about Brickshelf is that you can put both images and LXF-files there.
  9. Hi all I have Windows 7, and in the start menu there is this handy feature that recently used files are shown when you click a programs icon. However, for LDD this won't work. How is it for the rest of you, do you see your recently used LXF-files?
  10. I don't know if something wrong the placement of the bricks in this particular file, but this is what I found. The ends don't seem to meet up.
  11. Thanks for posting DLuders. I've never seen LDD used in this way before (cutaway), but it does look pretty neat.
  12. Yes, I'm curios too. What do you say Aanchir - what is the reason it will not fit withoug scafolding?
  13. Great work there hga09. Any chance of sharing the LXF?
  14. Hello again OK, I sent a mail directly to the LDD team about this since it seemed to be a bug. This is what I got back: So, in other words. The building guide generation as such is not the problem, but rather the huge size of the model. Try splitting it between the two buildings.
  15. From what I can see you have indeed created the file in LDD 4.1 and in DbM Mode, so that seems correct. I too tried to upload the model to DbM, and also get the error. This defintely seems to be some kind of bug in the DbM system. I would report it to LEGO customer services. EDIT: There seems to be something strange too with generating building instructions. After just moving a piece, and re-creating the building instructions, it seems to take forever. You writes it takes 24 hours which seems to be waaaay too long time. I'm wondering if there is something corrupt in the file, or if the model is built in such a way that it total bogs down LDD. EDIT2: As a general advise, I see you've used many 1x1 bricks. For example in the tan walls you used a 1x6 brick and a 1x1. May I propose you instead a 1x4 and a 1x3. Using 1x1 is more tricky when building since they often rotate slightly, so you have to for each one make sure it's alinged. With a 1x3 you don't have to do that which leads to faster building.
  16. Lovely small models Do you have the other building instructions as well? (Maybe they are even in our "official sets" topic - I haven't even checked )
  17. I'm not sure it's been mentioned, but found this on LEGO.com http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?p=20200&cn=245
  18. So many cool new parts
  19. And here are the votes from the Swedish jury (or at least one Swede): 4 points for 23 - maybe nothing to be played with, but oh so sweet to look at 3 points for 28 - brings out the little archeologist in us all
  20. So what was the conclusion. Is it an illegal build or is there a brick bug in LDD? (Calabar - I tried to open your LXF but it gave me the "1 brick could not be ...." and it was removed.) EDIT: It is possible to fit 60897 to fill the hole in LDD, but it's an illegal build.
  21. Good spotting. Defintely a case of collision volumes not being properly modelled in LDD.
  22. Can you attach the LXF too please. I'm not just being lazy, it's always better to look at the specific LXF at hand..... ....ok, ok I am lazy Anywayt, to attach a lxf, zip it or just change the fil extension to .ZIP.
  23. Thanks for the link to your article. Very intereseting read. Yeah, paper clips are good for most things The tricky parts was to figure out how the batteries are connected in serial in the batterbox, that's why one battery is left out on one side, and the papperclip is crossing over two battery compartments on the other. But the alumnium covered battery I really like. Simple and elegant. I'll probably use that method the next time.
