  1. Absolutely fantastic work guys. What a masterpiece. I really like how it turned out: the overall layout, the central towers, the organic elements (that's a lot of sea-weed ), the lighting (awesome), the different kind of trains, all the cools MOCs... To be honest, when I first saw the video from Hinck, I though "this has got to be one of the central pieces of the fair". I feel so proud of EB right now! Looking forward to more info about the build process. And we need close-ups, more close-ups.
  2. Hm, not sure I understand that reply. It's really good that you try to help out, but please try to be a bit more clear in your post. Thanks! (and BTW, welcome to the forum )
  3. Gekås Ullared. It was in conjunction with a contest they had this weekend, so it was a one day thing. Yes, I know - it's so strange. It was the same when I got the SW Venator polybag in february. It was completely unheard of too back then. I'll keep my eyes out for more world firsts from now on! 42 parts from what I could count.
  4. Hi there Amazing build, and beautiful rendering! I'll keep them as separate posts until I come home after work and can merge them or do something clever. Anyway, the quality of the work is fantastic. ...And welcome to the forum
  5. The problem has been adressed here http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=48663 mithryl dlarix did a bit cross-posting (right mithryl )
  6. Ah, sorry Calabar I didn't know. I just thought when you wrote bad CRC it was the message given by winzip.
  7. If there is a bad CRC, then rename the damaged file to .zip Then run a zip-repair tool and see if you can recover any part of the file. If you can, we may be able to help you from there. Regarding why it happened - I've never heard of it before, so the corruption most likely happened during a write to disk, a damaged disk sector, or similar.
  8. I respect this decision fully Aanchir. Many thanks for all the work you've done so far, and looking forward to the checklist. Like I've said before, this is historic work we are doing here (all of us), and the checking we do is in one sense laying the foundation for digital LEGO sets for the future. Now some of you say - yeah, yeah - just wait until TLG starts to do this themselves. Then all of this work will have been pointless. The thing is it's not. TLG digital models are made in their internal model builder tool work much like MLCad, i.e. you can place things whereever you want, and even into each other. So those models may be fine for creating building instructions, boxart etc, but they cannot automatically be convert to the precision needed in LDD format. So this means that the work we do in this topic is historic and at an unprecidented precision level. Thought I should mention this to keep up the spirit of all builders here HOWEVER, and this is a big but - we need to keep the quality to absolute top standards. Generations upon generations will thank us for this (I know it sounds almost religous ).
  9. Absolutely awesome work with all those models!! You've found a lot of juciy brick errors that shall be reported Some questions/comments however: I can get x126 to attach to the new helmet. About 4510 and 53425, where/how doesn't it connect? From what I can see in the instructions, it will fit if you just tilt the press-mechanism a few degrees. (which I think is how it's supposed to work, i.e. pressing on the light brick) How do you mean, I seem to be able to get it in place. workaround/solution: You need to add a 4274 (technic pin with stud) first, so that the circular thingy has something to connect to. Actually it can. The trick is to rotate 87957 so that it's inline with the slots on the monster back first. I know this sucks (LDD should auto orient the flames), but that's the way it is It can be attached to single stud elements, such as round 1x1 plate
  10. A small anecdote. When I was in the Swedish Army, I remember one time we were supposed to do an exerscie in the middle of the forest, setting up defence perimieters around small stretch of straight road. I didn't understand why until I noticed the hidden airsupply trucks and mobile radars. It was then I understood the purpose of the STOL aircraft, to be able to use ordinary roads for take off and landing (when the normal airfields have been blown up by the enemy). This is also partly how the swedish airforce (at war) is setup and why Viggen (and it's successor Gripen) are STOL aircraft.
  11. I'm not going to say anything, because everyone allready know what I think But I do want to add: let's not forget SR3D, which is an excellent piece of software! I guess so, but for the moment it could stay here. Maybe we can reach some newcomers to EB And for those who don't know, the EB digital tools forum is right over here
  12. The new 30121 Cars giveaway was handed out in a store in Sweden today. I got a few and managed to put one together. Nice model for a give-away, with two printed parts, and some other nice stuff.
  13. Whats up with the print quality on the minifigs? Like the head of the droid, with the eyes looking slightly warped, and on an angle. And the lines on some of the other figs. All jagged. Like the belt on this one: Is it pre-production or china?
  14. The cheapest way is most often to buy the bricks from BrickLink, specially if it's fairly common bricks that have been around for some time. Use LDD Manager to import your LXF-file, and then upload the model to BrickLink as a WantedList. If you are lucky, you should be able to save 50% or so (even on new bricks). But of course you don't get a fancy DbM box
  15. How do you mean? All I had to do was to rotate the cogwheel a tiny bit and it would slide right in. Right you are - good spotting Send a report to the LDD Team about this!
  16. A lot of good ideas. Thanks a lot guys! I'll go ahead a and try some of these out. I wonder why not TLG uses any of these methods, instead of creating such ugly, oversized wheel wells, such as this one: http://www.brickset.com/detail/?Set=4896-1
  17. As a Swede I just have to love it
  18. I don't know to be honest. I'm only familar with Access.
  19. I've been playing around with this idea to design a simple steering mechanism that would allow wheels turning in tight wheel wells. On official LEGO models, the wheels turning point is almost never inside the center of the wheel, so the entire wheel moves forward and backward during turning, thus needing much wheel well space. See attached video to see what I want to accomplish. Now the million dollar question: Have any of you seen or designed such a mechanism (no need to re-invent the wheel ). And if not, any ideas how I would do it? I'm intending to have it in a 8 stud wide vehicles, so its going to be tight. SteeringGeometry_0001.wmv
  20. Ah, OK, I see. I think I need to buy the model to get a better feeling for how the geometry is supposed to work. Good job anyway with the model
  21. I've noticed the same thing on a number of black 2x4 plates. The top and sides are glossy, the underside is not. It seems to be that the material has "frozen" differently on the topside and underside. As long as you don't expose the underside as part of your MOC that's OK, but otherwise, it's a major bummer.
  22. I guess it should fit if you rotate the 32034 so it's 90 degrees against the steering axle, and then move it and the rest of the assembly up. Or is there any reason this is not possible?
  23. Good spotting. Sent report to TLG, and hopefully they will fix it within too long.
