  1. Good find. And looking at the slots at the bottom, they doesn't seemt to be correctly modeled in LDD (too narrow).
  2. Let's do number three, and then we'll take it from there.
  3. I think Calabars second proposal is the way to go: If you want to make sure that the receiver gets the right impression and doesn't have to install LDD, learning the controls etc, I'd take screenshots (Ctrl-K) from various angles, and import those into PowerPoint. One slide per image. Add some titles and call-outs and you've got yourself a nice presentation format that most computers can read. You can even go on to create a PDF out of the Powerpoint to make it truly universal. PS: Don't forget to turn on outlines and advanced shading to get that pro look
  4. The LXF-file is itself a zip-file, so zipping it will not decrease size. Only reason to zip would be to add the .zip ending for those mailprograms that does not support or filter out non standard files.
  5. Excellent post Fugazi And clever of you to reverse engineer the colors like that.
  6. And for me it now looks like a no-go this year, so count me out. It's a real pity, but I hope you all have a terrific week. Take pictures
  7. It's funny you mention this, because it happens to me too occasionaly. Maybe you can do like my dad did, simply took a screwdriver and janked the F1 button out (true story).
  8. Another postive thing with a relay build is that it's something that can't be done with physcial bricks. So in a sence you are more using LDD as a tool to do something new. Anyway, I'm inclined to "vote" for a pure Relay build, but it sure doesn't rule out that we could also do a "lot allocation" build if there is interest for it.
  9. Ah, well, yes it doesn't run on Mac. But it does run fine on Windows 7.
  10. That is a truly majestic build. Great work However, we have a rule at EB that MOCs should in general be posted in the respective theme forum. So I'm moving this to the Town forum.
  11. Interesting point. I guess the strength of the RCB is that it slowly grows and that it keeps the suspense up. The negative side is you have to wait for your turn - true. But the "allocated lot" version also has some element of surprise to it - to see what the others have done, so I guess that could be cool too. And you don't have to wait. On the other hand, the RCB also has the element of being inspired by others - I guess it can be easier to build on what others have created, and then when you're up to speed to start building the foundation for the next building. Maybe it's possible to combine the two Another thing I'd like to ask in general, is if there is interest to build the MOC in physical bricks. I could ask at TLG if they are willing to sponsor bricks, and then the finished result could be displayed at let's say Legoworld (EU) or some of the bigger US conventions. I have not clue if TLG would be interested in this, but maybe.
  12. What kind of system do you have?
  13. And I still don't understand the question, but I'm a bit slow in the head sometimes
  14. Yes, please continue discussions about this new update here (although it was a good idea to start a new topic, so no problem with that )
  15. I'm not susre I understand what you mean Can you rephrase your question?
  16. Yes, you spotted those parts pretty darn well What I was told was that they get a chart with RGB values from DesignLab, and then that's pretty much it. They use what they've been told. That the colors render differenlty is a product of the graphics engine and how that changes. I've tried to point out that in various computer generated images used as box art, Brick Yellow looks more lightish, so there seems to be difference in how the different departments at LEGO use and render colors. It might well be that DesignLab is not aware how colors render on various software and that some tweaking would actually be needed. The only color the LDD team are tweaking themselves is what I understand black (to make it usable even without outlines).
  17. Well, then it could be that some ActiveX control has not properly registered. You should try to re-install Access.
  18. Cool that 4.1.17 was released - I had no idea this was coming until it suddently said "new version available" Please notice that many of the bug fixes are stuff that we, dear forum members, have reported The old parts where added as direct result of fan request too. The hinges were apperantly those used in the most of the old sets, and therefore they got in first. About 299 Laqured Gold, I was also hoping for it, but I was told when 4.1.6 was released that apperantly it's a technical issue since the RGB value for that color is the exact as another goldish color in LDD (don't know which), and two colors cannot have the same RGB value. New elements There might be assemblies also (parts made up of several sub-parts), but I haven't yet included those
  19. In Access 2007 (and I guess also 2010) you sometimes need to explicitly point out "trusted locations". Read more here: http://www.btabdevelopment.com/ts/default.aspx?PageId=13 Can you try that?
  20. I agree with the Doc and J4ake on this one - someone a bit more experienced would be suitable.
  21. Hi I'm aware that LDraw is the library and MLCad the editor, and maybe I expressed myself a bit carlessly. I guess what I meant is that (from what I understand, correct me if I'm wrong), MLCad is by far the most commonly used editor and that's why I grouped them together.
  22. And I almost forgot: Thanks a million to DLuders for helping out sending all the LDD tiles
  23. Lovely work. And thanks for sharing the LXF
  24. Well, the strange thing is that clicking Export to XML LDD manager only opens a form, and that's when you get the error. Really strange. Anyway, this error happens because one of the reasons mentioned here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/319844 Cause 2 and 3 it can't be, because then everyone should have that error (I think ) Cause 5 doesn't seem to relate Cause 1 is shouldn't be, because I'm not using DAO in LDD Manager, only ADO. But you should still do that (what it says in the link above). Cause 4 seems far fetched (but you should check it). (BTW What version of Access are you using?)
