MOC: Mudguard Serpent
Superkalle replied to Shine's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Excellento. And I forgot to say - very good MOC. You have the gift to make an all digital MOC look really interesting (which is not that easy I think). Any plans to go ABS with it? -

LDD update 4.1.8 released
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
No, I don't think so. In last years interview with the LDD Manager (not the SW ), he said that they would add old parts as time allows, so I guess it's part of the plan. -
LDD update 4.1.8 released
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It seems two parts have been removed in this release, probably by mistake or temporarily, because they should be in LDD. 64819 - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=3711 30168 - http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=x177 So if you used these parts in your LXF, take notice. -

LDD update 4.1.8 released
Superkalle posted a topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
As noticed by Stark Mark 5, the latest update to LDD has been released. Don't know yet what's new, or even what the version number is (haven't downloaded yet myself). Update: version is 4.1.8, so seems like a very minor update. Anyway, talk about it all here -

[Software] LDD Manager
Superkalle replied to Superkalle's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
The brickshelf folder is not public yet, so the pics won't show (EDIT: Noticed Calabars post now) About 64bit office you're right - it won't open 32 bit Access-files (which LDD Manager is). Microsoft has gotten quite a few complaints about this. Your best bet is to install 32 bit office (or install the 32 bit runtime). If LDD Manager still won't start, try to use the File>Open within the runtime (just to avoid any risk of faulty file type associations). And about runtime, you're right. It's just that Access is such an incredibly fast developent environment for these kind of database driven apps, so it just became what it became. I whish there was some way to quickly port and Access app to VB.net or so. -
Train Track
Superkalle replied to AllanSmith's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
It doesn't. This problem has been fixed for the next release of LDD (so I've been told at least), so all you can do now is to wait -
No problem I think I've seen this reported before, but good find in any case There is an error in the latest version. You are correct, a one wide plate plate (of any length) should be able to connect both on the underside and top-side. The technique was for example used on the fork-lift in the 4999 VESTAS set. From what I've heard, this error has been fixed for the next version of LDD (whenever that will come out). As a side-note, there is some debate wether this technique should be concidered LEGO Legal or not, since the hole is not really meant to house a stud (it is a very tight fit). I haven't seen the technique used in any recent sets. If anyone has, it'd be interesting to know.

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Superkalle replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Good point. Actually, improved BI is high on my list too. One thing would be if the BI algorithm could utilize groups that the users have created. PS: To create custom views during creation of BI, I normally rotate the BI-view (yes you can do that) to a favored position, and then Ctrl-K. I then get a number of nice instructions steps that I paste into a Word-document. The only problem is that I miss out on the small thumbnails showing the needed parts per step. -

LDD 5, what features do YOU want?
Superkalle replied to BasOne's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Please TLG, add right mouse click to pan (as complement to shift + left click), of that doesn't work, left+right mouse button together. -
No problem. Anything for you doc

That is awesome. I feel almost tempted to move it to the LDD Forum as an example of "outstanding work". And that you offer to share the LXF is excellent. An LDD Builder tag is heading your way!

Once again, super work I'm surprised no one have thought about this clever solution before. I mean, it solves a lot of problems in a very elegant way. -

Calabar is right. We need to check this with TLG first since we don't want to get into trouble. -
MOC: Bluejacket
Superkalle replied to Shine's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
Excellent work. I really like the design. My favorite part is the odd brown field that feels almost encapsulated by the rest of the ship. Thanks for sharing (but the previw pic is a bit small. Can you make it bigger?) -

The sinks in the bathroom are awesome Also like the sofa side cusions. Clever. Very clever. Thanks for sharing -
On a side note, the Post Office was designed by legendary designer Steen Sig Andersen, who is also one of the key LEGO Digital Designer users within TLG. So it is most likely designed with LDD. As an old LDD fan, I just had to say it
