  1. Not sure about Dev Mode and EULA. Only "problem" with Dev Mode, and why I guess TLG never posted anything about it even to us fans is: 1) There is the risk that people will turn off collision volumes and then the bricks will be removed when opening the file. And then TLG will be getting support calls complaining that LDD is removing bricks...until they remember that they placed the bricks while in Dev Mode. (i.e. like the old "did you turn the computer on?" support call) 2) People will start to become too much of detectives - starting to look for collision boxes that stick out here or there, that may not even be relevant for real world building. I'm not sure what to think. All of you guys that report errors and read this topic are cool. I'm just worried that the topic could be swamped with collision volumes issues that either TLG can find themselves (if we just report the issue) or that TLG will never fix anyway (in my experience, they only fix issues that can be connected to real world building cases). But maybe I'm just being a grumpy old moderator now
  2. @fandersj The issues you've displayed are likely related to your graphics card and the drivers for it. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your card. Also, it seems several of the pictures in your post show the same type of error, and so the post becomes unnecessarily large/long. Please consider reducing the size of the images and the number of them and it will make it easier for others to get an overview. The last issue with the twisted tube has been discussed before. It's a known bug. If you want to read more, please do a search in the forum (can't remember the topic on the top of my head).
  3. @polymaker Firstly, this topic is about most wanted bricks that we want to be officially released in LDD by TLG, not custom created bricks, so I kindly ask you (and everyone else) to please keep on subject. Secondly, we have a policy in the forum to not discuss hacking the LIF-file, since it breaks the EULA (End User License Agreement). Thanks for your understanding
  4. We've counted the votes now, and the winner with a big margin is entry 33 by legorevival with 81 points. Big congratulations to you. Second place goes to Entry 17 with 54 points and third to entry 16 with 47 points Here are the votes for the top 9 places 33 - 81 17 - 54 16 - 47.5 24 - 39 21 - 37.5 27 - 32 31 - 29 22 - 23 8 - 17 7 - 16 To the winners - please PM me your addresses.

  7. Thanks for the info about 64bit conversion. I was just under the impressions it wouldn't be much of a problem so I never bothered to look into it. I'll stick with 32 bit.
  8. @DawnTreader You are spot on in your analysis. Even MS themselves don't advice people to install the 64 bit version, unless they have specific needs of extremely large files. The 64 bit version is not faster or more stabile then the 32 bit. Having said that, it wouldn't be too difficult for me to make a 64-bit version - I just have to "compile" the project on a 64 bit office installation...Only problem is that I don't have that version. But more importantly - I can't seem to find the motivation to update all brickdata and keep LDD Manager updated. I was thinking about maybe making it shareware or donorware, but I'm not sure that would work. People kind of expect software to be free nowadays (open source etc).
  9. Absolutely fabulous work. Love the tiled hull. Great technique all around.
  10. Bump Please all readers of the Digital forum - take a few minutes to vote. Thanks
  11. You found the bug so you take the cred PS: I only reported cavity issues for a few bricks (that have been fixed, see attached file), so I'm not sure it's been fixed anywhere else. Cavityfixes.lxf

  14. EB 2016 Digital Design contest voting topic Welcome to the voting topic for the Eurobricks 2016 Digital Design contest. Voting process and assigning points Cast your vote like this: 1. Look through the entries in the Entry topic and judge each entry with respect to: a) Theme idea and originality b) Model design and build techniques c) Presentation ...and combine these into a balanced decision. 2. Distribute 5 points among the entries and post your vote in this topic on the following format: Entry# + Points. So, just a single post, for example like this: or... or... Who wins? The entry with the most points will win, followed by second, and third. In the event of a tie, the Digital Design forum staff will use additional criteria to decide the winner. Our decision will be final. Who can vote? Every member that was registered before the day the contest was announced (March 22nd, 2016) can vote. Contestants may vote, but not on their own entry. Last date to vote Preliminary set to May 21st, 2016 CET. Important There is absolutely zero tolerance for tactical or rigged voting, i.e., to have friends vote for your entry just because you asked them. Prices The prices are as described in the Rules topic. Prices have been kindly donated by TLG, and will be sent courtesy of Eurobricks. Winners will be contacted via PM to provide an address where prices are to be sent. EB is not responsible for any local taxes or customs that may occur, neither for loss of package that is beyond our control. Questions? Questions about voting can be asked in the Rules and Questions topic Do not post questions in this topic - this topic is only for voting! 15. I'll help you edit the WIP text out. As for missing links, can't help you with that. It'll have to be what it is.
  16. The entry topic has been closed now. Voting will begin as soon as we're done prepping for it. It can take a few days at least. We'll see. @drakinova - your pictures in the post are OK, so don't worry about that. Now, about the some of the complaints about the contest, I'd like to take the opportunity to quickly just comment on those, just to have it said. Now, this isn't only directed only to you guys, but I'd kindly ask you to consider the following: 1) This was a contest created by two persons doing this on their spare time and on a 100% voluntary basis. We don't have the backing of some large corporation, so it's very much on a hobby level. 2) We never had a digital design contest with this particular setup before, so it wasn't easy to predict all possible issue. Making a digital contest is always more difficult then a physical one because of all the added degrees of freedom. So isn't completely fair to judge this contest against a "normal" contest as EB that usually never has any rules changes. 3) There has in fact been only one rule change, and it was about the 5 non-produced colors. The other was just a clarifying the interpretation of a "model" (to be more in-line with we think most of you had thought from the start). To be honest, legolijntjes had the same perception as most of you all the time, and it was me who messed up regarding my post if it was to be a "model" or "set". 4) There hasn't been any changes that would significantly change the preconditions of the contest or for anyone to make a good entry. A good MOC is a good MOC no matter what, and in our experience that shines through to the voters much more then whatever the small effect the rule change may have had. Right or wrong, but that's how we reasoned. 4) The one rule change (and one clarification) were made because of input from all you participants. We didn't just make the changes for our own sake. We perceived a majority thought they'd do good and they sounded reasonable, so we did them. All in the spirit of a fun contest. 5) We did all we could to communicate the changes. There was even front pages made mentioning both rule addendum's. I don't see there was anything more we could've done. Anyway, enough about that. The contest is closed now, and we'll naturally take all input with us for the future. Now I'd just like to say: Thanks everyone who made an entry, and thanks for the support for the contest! Now it's time to setup the voting. legolijntjes flew to New York for vacation, so I'm left with this alone. Great
  17. It's the 30th and it's 12 noon CET, so I hereby close the entry topic. Next steps will be to compile the entries and setup the voting. We will be back here with more info when it's time for that. In the meantime, hold on
  18. Not sure there will be a summary post, since the entry topic is so neat as it is. But if there will be a summary, it will link to each entry post for voters to have a look at, and there they can follow links.
  19. I haven't looked in detail, but I'd say all entries so far are OK.
  20. It's what it is I'm afraid. It was just to avoid the discussion about "can it be considered box art or not"? We've learned a lot during this contest, so in the future maybe the rules will be different, but we're sticking with what we have for now.
  21. These two question were actually partly answered here before, but I don't mind answering them again: 1) Yes, you can have a logo for you theme, like CM4Sci had in the picture he showed, which was like a "logo" picture for his theme. And sure, you can put a logo/watermark in the other pictures too if you want. What I told CM4Sci was to remove the text that just said the name of the set and the piece count etc. 2) Yes, you can have an aircraft flying if you want and you don't need a support.
  22. @CM4Sci - It is OK to have the minifigs being a bit in action like that, as well as mechs and so. Also, it's OK that you have your theme logo in that picture. However, for the other pictures in you entry, you can keep the backdrop/gradients, but please remove the "set" text so the models can be judged a bit more own there own. @All - Please do NOT comment or debate if other peoples entries break the rules or not. ONLY ask questions about your own entry. Thanks.
