LDD Update anytime soon?

Great. I'll start a new topic then.... ...and closing this to avoid confusion and double posting here -
LDD Update anytime soon?
Superkalle replied to Takanuinuva's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
IMPORTANT INFO: I'm passing this info on from the LDD Team. Apparently there will be a fix released later today to bring the brickset up from 1564 (the 16Mb download) to 1564.1 (a smaller 2Mb download). Among other things, it will fix an issue with the 2x2 plate and 1x2 tile, as well as the crash issues. So please make sure to close and re-start LDD to get that update. OK, that was the message. So, once the 1564.1 is out, let's start a separate topic for this new brickset here in the forum to discuss the "whats's new" stuff -
Hi The reason they are not available as separate parts is because they are not part of the LEGO System. For example you can't call LEGO Customer Services and order them as a spare part, neither can you see them used in any official LEGO set. However, there are some way to tweak LDD into getting the hands separated. There should be a topic about that somewhere here if you search (can't remember on the top of my head). Or if someone else can remember where that topic is?

I'm moving this to the right topic. The answer to your question is that they exist under the Electrical Icon in LDD (the electric motor icon).

I reported all these errors to the LDD Team. If we're lucky, at least some will be fixed in the brickset update that normally arrives in October.

It's time for Eurobricks 5th Relay Community Build, this time hosted by Piratedave84. So if you'all are at least somewhat proefficient in LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) and like to join in to build a Western Town together with 15 other builders, then head on over here to read more about what this is, and also to see the great results we achieved in the previous RCBs. UPDATE: All positions in the build has now been filled.

Tragic news - Sergio (SR3D) passes away
Superkalle replied to kevin8's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
What absolutely terrible news. I'm not sure what to say. This is such a huge loss. Both in terms of him being such a friendly and good guy here in the community, but also because of the great software he made which was such an important one in the Ldraw eco-system. My heartfelt condolences to his family. -
Need good Ref pictures of the Hill Valley Clock Tower

I'm moving this topic to Town, since it's not directly related to LDD or digital design. -
Need good Ref pictures of the Hill Valley Clock Tower
Superkalle replied to Prince Manic's topic in LEGO Town
I'm not sure I understand this topic either. Maybe I'm a bit grumpy now Prince Manic, but if you want a picture of the Hill Valley Clock, why don't you just Google for it. I just did and found plenty good pictures. Besides, this topic really doesn't fit in the LDD forum - this is a place for discussion LDD and Ldraw issues, techniques, rendering etc. -
Usually the best way to learn how to design LEGO models is to start with somehing yourself, maybe based on an official LEGO set, and then post that (just to show you have made some inital effort). Then people are usually more willing to help. In any case the LDD forum is not the best place to ask for help to build something for you. You are better of asking in the Town Forum. If you want inspiration for LDD models, look at our official sets topic.

Convert LDD HTML to Bricklink XML?
Superkalle replied to Andy D's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
@jspencer. The main issue with that site is that it has a very old LDD conversation database. Many of the converted bricks will be wrong. -
It's a tricky one. From what I understand, this is no longer considered illegal, even though the connection as such is very floppy and "un-LEGO-like", but at least it doesn't stress the bricks since the flange of the 4274 fits into the cavity formed by the 4 studs-on-the-side. You can actually place the 4274 quite easily by removing the chopper blades, inserting a light-saber bar into the 4733, the putting the 4274 in place and finally putting the blades back.

@gas1979 - First, I see you are new member so I'm going to start by saying welcome to Eurobricks! Then a little tip right of the bat: When you join a forum as a new members, there are couple of things to keep in mind to join in a smoothly as possible. First, take some time and search for, and then read, old topics first. In this case, you'll find a lot of information already written about the tools that virtual republic uses if you look around a bit. Secondly, avoid to wake up and older topic like this one (last post was about 5 months ago) just to saw "wow" or similar, which just has a tendency to irritate old-timers in the forums.

If I understand correct pdxbricks, you are referring to using track 53992 with wheels 56145. The answer is that no, that's unfortunately not possible. As you say, the track is smaller in one end. I think it was modeled that way to fit a particular set once upon a time. But I've taken the liberty of reporting this issues to the LDD Team, and maybe they will be able to fix this for the next, upcoming brickset database (which usually arrives about this time each year).
