I like the use of the round technic balls - I hadn't though of using them for plants, although they come in very handy for other things. Very nice plant life here. I need to get my hands on some of those click-its parts myself.

Some really nice builds here. I really like the variety of techniques on the main wall on the first build. I think the 2nd build is my favorite though. You've done a great job with the whole coastline, the temple, and the white and blue water technique. The 3rd build is great too though, I would love to see a bigger version of this. It has a nice random imperfect look to it that can be so hard to achieve with Legos. Great job on these!

Beautiful MOC! You always have such contrasts of color. I really like your use of the florescent pieces to give this more of an other-wordly look. The dragon is very well done as well, plus there are many little details you've done in this MOC that are great. I especially love the jelly-fish. Great job!

This is breath-taking! You do such an amazing job of building things you would never expect to see in a MOC. The flowers are truly awesome! The whole concept is great, and you do a great job on every part. The lightning bug picture is wonderful! It's builds like this that just stun me. There are some amazing builders within the normal concepts (houses, castles, trees, etc.) and then there are a few builders that are just on a different plane, like yourself (SoT's dragon in Chapter 6, and Lisqr's Misty Shrine come to mind) and you always do an amazing job with your builds. Bravo!

This build is AMAZING , but I already expected that, being one of yours. So many things I love - The elven building is so unique! It has nice round curves, and the nice wooden composition, not to mention all the great details with the river and the foliage and everything else. I love the pattern on the grey floor, the stuffed bear, the telescope, the elven throne room, more things than I can mention. That map though is a work of brilliance. It is so perfect! Truly amazing build, as usual!

Another great vignette! You really capture a snapshot of a bigger world with this. you've done an excellent job with the rock slope and the foliage, and with only a few pieces. I love it. excellent build!

Great job here! I really like this house a lot. You've come up with an original design that is indeed very easy to make, with common pieces. I LOVE the details on the ground around the house. They just look great with again, such a simple design (green 1x2 plates and grass) but it really pops. That and the goat, and barrels and pumpkin patch . I think you're Cuuso idea is right on. I have been considering doing a castle version of this where there would be 3 sets, for example a tower and wall set, a gatehouse set, and some third set (undecided at this point). The idea would be that if you bought, say 4 tower sets, a gatehouse set, you could build your own castle, but it would be designed to be expandable, so you could use, say 3 tower sets, or 6 tower sets. Each set would also have an alternate build, so maybe the gatehouse could also be used to build a barracks, or something similar. I think your idea has better marketability though. I would like to see the other build options be buildings other than a house though, as that may be more appealing to the public? Excellent MOC and idea though. I love it!

You've done a great job with both of these! We haven't seen many dwarven MOCs, but these two are excellent. You do a great job of conveying the mine coming out of the side of a hill - the rocks and foliage along the top are very well done. On the 2nd, one it is just presented very well. I like all of the mineral deposits, and I like the back view as well. The only thing I would suggest is perhaps a black tile in the window over the 3 studs? Just my though. Excellent MOCs!

Very nice vignette! Everything about this build is top notch. The fire place details are excellent (Will the minotaurs take offense if they find out you're taxidermizing them?) You've packed a ton of detail into a small vignette. Great job!

Great MOC! I really like seeing a lot of activity in builds, and you've done a great job with it here. The forum is a great idea, we haven't seen much for politics yet in GoH. I like your buildings, and the way they have the modularity of the city sets. I also like your use of the 1x2 plates, but I can't imagine how much time it would take. And the disassembling will be the worst part of it - I don't envy you there . I do really like the look of it though. Great job!
-
Excellent build, as usual. I love the window framing, especially the top arch, the carpeting on the floor, the furniture, especially the shelf with the bottles. I also love the dragon skeletons wrapped around the throne. The border detailing is great as always. This is another amazing MOC!

Lord Khan's House - Merodaquinas Judge
Rogue Angel replied to Cij Daoke's topic in Guilds of Historica
Great job here! I really like the colors you used here, I'd be able to tell right away it's yours. I like the roofing slope, and the reinforced bridge. I also really like the details on the back of the build - thanks for showing them! I was hoping you'd post pictures from a few more angles on your last build, like this one. I also really like your group of characters, and your use of the Slytherin (I think) shield. I don't remember seeing anyone else use it, so maybe you've got the monopoly on it. Your characters look very individual despite the fact that some have the same torsos. Excellent MOC! -
Very nice hall. I really like the detail work over the fireplace, and the bordering of the MOC. I still can't figure out what curved piece you used...

The tale of Erudhalion and the water horse
Rogue Angel replied to Gabe's topic in Guilds of Historica
I love the story, and you've done a great job with the MOC. I really like all the water details, and the horse looks great! Do you worry that the being will want revenge after his third task? Will this bottle carry down through the generations? Great job! -

I have a number of opinions to post on a number of topics here (I've always got opinions on everything though, ) GoH is something that I have to devote a decent amount of time to if I'm going to devote any time at all. For instance: I saw Beerbeard's post today, and had already been feeling bad that I haven't caught up with commenting on MOCs in almost 3 weeks, so I wanted to post a reply today. Well, that means I have to read through all the replies, then rewrite my reply a dozen times until it sounds right, and then add in responses to all the other things I have read in the process. So that means that reply ends up taking 30 min to an hour. Now, once I have that reply in place, it's usually pretty easy to then skim through all of the other Guild topics and catch up on what I've missed, since there are often somewhat relevant conversations going on there. BUT, that still means I have to spend a 30 min to an hour for that initial post. That may not seem like much, but personally, when my weekends are busy, then my weeknight time is usually pretty booked up too. Plus, if there are time sensitive builds (Mitgardian Prime Minister challenge, for example) I may end up spending my commenting time on that build instead, if I'm short on time. GoH tends to really go in cycles though. When I was waiting for the results on the 2nd Challenge, I was on here 3 or 4 times a day, and there was a bit of commenting, but then everything slowed down. I usually end up checking GoH on my phone, which takes forever to load, so if I haven't been seeing much going on recently, I won't check much. Also, I can't usually see the pictures on my phone, so it's useless to check new MOCs. SO, in conclusion to my first opinon, If I haven't caught up with GoH in the last 4 or 5 days, and I don't spend an hour after work to catch up, then it just keeps getting harder and harder to catch up. Without my last few weekends, I am getting way behind, and I haven't caught up yet. I definitely can see where Beerbeard is coming from in terms of posting on MOCs. It may be wrong, but most of my validation on MOCs comes from people posting. If 300 people have viewed my MOC but only 3 people posted, then I think it wasn't a very good build. I think that people are pretty good about posting overall, especially our core (7 was it?), and each guild has their core. I think that we're going to have a lull in comments when we have a lull in deadlines. (Mitgardians were posting all the time this week, because of their prime minister run, so they probably posted more on MOCs too, although this might have been somewhat political in nature too. Also, I like to try to post to every MOC that I am impressed with, just to show that I like it, and I am very hesitant to critique, because I don't want to post negatively, but that's something I have to work on as I suppose it is helpful. I do like the idea of posting the build scores, so people can see how they do, but I thing this is a catch 22 as well, because you end up having people say "my build was better than that one, how come it got a better score." Maybe you could say voting will take place during a certain week, so then GoH members know to vote during that time, and will have a whole week to vote, although I would prefer that you not be able to see the results, as I think that could influence voting significantly. Just a thought. I think I had more opinions to voice, but I've already spent an hour now, and I have places to be, people to see. -
Thanks for the comments! I picked up the majority of the plants from a PAB wall at one of the Lego stores. One of my best finds, since plants can be so hard to come by.

Mitgardian Prime Minister Election
Rogue Angel replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in Guilds of Historica
Fellow Mitgardians!* I, Cecil B. Prosperous, would like to announce my candidacy for Prime Minister.* (Cecil B Prosperous is not a legal Mitgardian citizen, nor has he ever lived in Mitgarida. He has visited Mitgardia twice, and been imprisoned in Mitgardian jails, but this does constitute residency.) (Cecil B. Prosperous is not eligible to run for Prime Minister, but can accept campaign donations.) Mitgardia is a harsh place - cold, rocky, snowy, cold.. Mitgardians scrape by in their meager lives, ignorant of the ways of learned peoples, yearning for the comforts of the warmer guilds. There is much talk among Mitgardians on how to improve the lives of the common folk of Mitgardia.* (No Mitgardians have been quoted in the following remarks, nor does this in any way state that any Mitgardian has ever stated these comments. These are merely hypothesized opinions that Mitgardians could theoretically hold.) Some Mitgardians say "Let's move to Avalonia, their lands are lush and temperate." I say, Avalonia is crowded! They have too much food, rotting all over the countryside - the stench is horrendous!* (There is no persistent odor or smell to Avalonia. Avalonians are actually able to sell their surplus crops for money, providing them with a comfortable income.) Some Mitgaridans say "Let's move to Kaliphlin, their lands are warm and dry." I say, Kaliphlin is a furnace that will burn unwary travelers alive. In Kaliphlin, it is so hot that it's citizens must bathe three times a day to stay cool enough that they don't start on fire, THREE TIMES A DAY!* As all good Mitgardians know, bathing causes sickness and plagues*, that's why it's better to bathe once a year at most. And then there's the sand. Sand gets in everything: the water, the food, your clothes, your eyes - The average Kaliphlin loses their eyesight completely by the time they are 16!* (While the temperature in Kaliphlin can reach in excess of 100 degrees, there is no evidence that anyone has ever started on fire. The heat can cause dehydration, exhaustion and other illnesses that can lead to death.) (Studies have found that periodic bathing is in fact healthier than monthly or yearly bathing.) (There is no statistical evidence that Kaliphlin residents lose their eyesight any faster than residents of other guilds.) Some Mitgaridans say "Let's move to Nocturnus."* I have one word for that: Drow. (No Mitgardian would ever say "Let's move to Nocturnus") I know that you have eked out your existence, barely scrounging by in this frigid wasteland of rocks, trees and snow. You live a day to day life, where death could be just around the corner. Starvation, subzero temperatures, falling trees, avalanches, bears, all perils faced by Mitgardians on a daily basis. How would you like more food than you could eat in a month? Fresh fish from the seas, fruits and vegetables, whole turkeys, meats and pastries, would you like that? How would you like to get with the times? You ignorant Mitgardians probably don't know anything about fashion, but let's call it "fancy rich king clothes", would you like those? Would you like to be clean, and not have lice and ticks! Do you like gold and treasure? How would you like it if every Mitgardian got a chest of riches, with which they could brag and gloat to their neighbors? What if your world consisted of more than the hovel you've lived in for your whole pathetic life? What if you could visit far off places with your own horse and carriage loaded with mead, wine and golden goblets with which to drink? Are you tired of living in a cave, or just a ditch? How would you like to have a roof over head, and the safety and security a house would provide? My name is Cecil B. Properous. I was born and raised in Mitgardia* and I wish to be your Prime Minister! (Cecil B. Properous was not born in Mitgardia, nor has he ever lived in Mitgardia.) If you elect me Prime Minister, All of these things and more will be granted!* Please donate generously to the CBPPMF, to help work towards a better future for all of Mitgardia. (To Cecil B. Properous only. This does not in any way guarantee any promise of goods or services, or imply that the quality of life will improve for any Mitgardian citizens.) A vote for Prosperous is a vote for Prosperity! -

Great story Derfel! I really liked the extensive scene and dialogue, but there should have been some Drow killing . I have an idea what Challenge 3 might be, but I will have to wait and see if I'm right.
