  1. I can comment on this at last! Better late than never. I'm really speechless for once more Fangy! This is a truly an epic review and I'm amazed on how detailed this is - I really can't think of anything else that could have been added. Tradition goes on! Series 4 looks fantastic! Almost all minifigs look great and I really like the fact that there is a consistency among all the series as you greatly point out. It's really difficult for me to choose a favorite but if I had a gun pushed against my forehead while I was surrounded by dogs and laser beams from sniper rifles were all over my body I would go for the Kimono Girl (the colours used look very beautiful), the Musketeer (the hat, the sword and the torso look great), the Sailor (he even blinks like Popeye!) and the Hazmat Guy (looks very impressive). As for Town standards, the Street Skater is the highlight. A beautiful new torso and a new knit hat is always welcomed in my minifig accesories collection. Thanks again for the fantastic review Fangy! P.S
  2. This is brilliant! I still can't believe how close the overall look is to the real thing. The choice of pieces is excellent and extra praise for creating the interior too. The first picture is really eye candy. Fantastic job!
  3. Happy birthday guys! Enjoy your day and have a great time with the people you love.
  4. Space sets are now up in LEGO Shop@Home under the Transportation category. I've already bought the Space Moon Buggy and the Satellite Launch Pad and I can't wait to get the other two. Thanks for the Creator link Bachus. The Hillside House looks pretty interesting.
  5. Thanks for the feedback! Beautiful photos dr_spock! The back of the box... That was the kind of box I was refering to. I said "drawer-like" because I had the habit of using it as a drawer for minifigs, pieces etc back then. The only thing that was different was the tray. Mine was a paper/cardboard tray and to be honest, it's the first time I see this particular plastic one. Mine was the right one. A vehicle and a crane from one set.
  6. A very beautiful work (as usual) Christopher! The Empire State Building looks great and the biplane is a total success. I'll be definitely waiting for a new mini scene with the release of the Godzilla costume.
  7. Beautiful review LuxorV! Thanks for the fantastic classic town reviews! I love your attention to detail. The set itself... A real classic vehicle from the great era. Great design, highly playable and can be combined with many other sets in order to create some very nice action scenes. For some reason, this particular minifig (black overalls, red construction helmet) was one of my all time favorites back then (and still is ). I still have it from my childhood and I'm very lucky that it's still in excellent condition. 25 years have passed and the stickers are still in their place, both the container's one and the yellow/black sticker on the back. If I remember correctly, the box was the "drawer-like" one. I loved those boxes. Thanks again for the great review and the beautiful journey back in time LuxorV!
  8. Cheers for Ricecracker! You've done a great job with the Fire Station.
  9. Great and very detailed review mostlytechnic, fantastic pictures! The set looks impressive and although that it's not in my wish list I would have done the same thing you did with that price. There are some very interesting pieces in there and a 3000+ piece count is always tempting. Boring and plain clothes yes, but the lipstick balances that. Thanks for the great review!
  10. I knew you would say something like that... ...but still, I went after the bait.
  11. That was great designholic. The "sceptic" face and the results of the explosion are hilarious. I love the quality of your photos!
  12. Happy birthday Fangy! I wish all the best to one of The Best in EB and to one of my favorite guys in here! Enjoy your day and have a great time my friend! (I'm still building that time machine I promised you last year. )
  13. Great finds Brickviller and The Red Brick and thanks for the new pics r4-g9! The Fishing Boat is a must buy! EDIT: The 2011 City Set images topic is now updated.
  14. According to Brickset I have 429 minifigs. I would say around 500 by adding the loose and not inventoried ones. Twelve thousand minifigs?
  15. Great review of a beautiful classic town set LuxorV! This was released the year I entered my dark ages and I remember looking at it in the LEGO catalogue thinking "Am I ever gonna get this?" The raft looks very nice and the minifigs (three minifigs in a set of this size - oh, what an era...) are great. I too agree that the female's torso stands out. I really miss the use of the cowboy hat in city sets, a common thing back then. The back of the box picture made me feel nostalgic btw. Thanks for the beautiful and detailed review!
  16. Very nice work rriggs. It certainly has the same feel with the original city bus and the additional deck is succesfully built making the overall appearance of the bus look smooth. If you ask me, I would change the yellow bricks just under the second deck with white in order to have a white stripe "running" around the bus. It's a good trick to break the "tallness" if you ever feel that it's taller than you wanted.
  17. Unstoppable http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JA63glohLhg I watched it at a friend's high-end home cinema set-up and I really enjoyed it. Having all these LEGO train news was a great timing I guess.
  18. I like the idea of having a similar topic (both in concept and quality) for city photos so I've tweaked the title a little in order to make it city specific. Beautiful photos you've posted here designholic. The lighting and the colours look great and I particularly like the lady killer picture. Btw, welcome to Eurobricks too! You can always introduce yourself here if you like.
  19. Beautiful work LT! There are some very nice details in your creation (I love the use of the classic labels) and the whole thing screams classic town! I'll be waiting for more updates!
  20. Nice topic! Althought that I barely have the time and -most importantly- the space to build right now, I always catch myself trying to create buildings that have the classic town style. Many people may think that it's easiest to build that way but I really think the opposite. It's not just some bricks and some window frames placed on a baseplate by creating a 3-wall building, the key to success here is the style and the "vibes" the final result gives you, especially when talking for late 80s-early 90s style. Classic town has its details too. Btw, if anyone's interested, some very beautiful classic town creations can be found in here. There were for the Classic Town building Contest held in EB two years ago. I love it!
  21. New pictures from fbtb's flickr photostream. More pictures here. I love it!

Hapy birthday Ras! Have a great time today and beware of badgers, they really like cakes.
  23. Very nice review lightningtiger, thanks. This set looks very nice and it's a great way of getting three vehicles at one go. The cars' design looks very interesting and I particularly like the police one since it looks different from what we had in the past. I really don't mind that there is a trike included (it's most welcomed in fact) because I never had one and now is my chance of getting one. The street corner is also a nice addition that prevents the set from looking "empty". After all, what's a police chase if there is no drifting included? The biggest -and most pleasant- surprise in this year's Police line is the printed tile. That's good!
  24. Since the appropriate topic for these kind of questions has been found, I'll lock this.
  25. Fantastic review Rufus! Lots of details, a comparison between two sets, beautiful (as always) pictures, I don't think I can ask for something else. (Man, the first picture is one of the best I've seen in EB!) I like this set and it's one of the next I'm going to get. The previous 7245 never made it to Greece (it was the only police set from that batch that wasn't available here) and this one more reason for me. I think that this is much better than its predecessor as you too correctly say. The vehicle itself looks much better, there are lots of accesories included and having a motorcycle as an extra is definitely a great thing. One more positive thing this set has and you've mentioned it too is that its playability is great for kids even as a standalone set. Two vehicles are the basis for a good ol' chase on the carpet. Thanks for the brilliant review Rufus!
