LEGO Star Wars 2013 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickDaddy replied to Erdbeereis's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In TLC's eyes, any new printing means new a minifig. They've done this with at least a dozen minifigs, especially recently. Honestly we've had what, five new Hans in as many years? -
Lego Superheroes 2013 Rumours & Discussion
TheBrickDaddy replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
There's essentially no chance that Lego is making ten tiny colored individual rings for the Mandarin, that's really pushing it in terms of feasibility. We have no proof that Iron Patriot/War Machine will be included in these sets, although I agree with you that he definitely should be- Lego might be getting some angry emails from me otherwise! And please keep in mind not everyone knows that Iron Patriot and War machine are one and the same, so actually you might be explaining that more times than you think... After all, this is a Lego fan website, not an Marvel comics fan website! -

Actually they are both new- the black one has new leg printing! -

Thanks for the info! With that in mind, I'm actually glad now that they added in these orange Republic troopers- but that still doesn't excuse the fact that the Havoc squad trooper (Jace Malcolm?) doesn't have a helmet... Also, sorry if someone has already pointed this out, but both of the Sith troopers in TOR BP are new- the black one has new leg printing! Can I get an amen? -

I think that there are good and bad aspects of this wave. The two things that stand out the most to me are: 1. In TOR BP, why on earth did they give us two orange clones, and not at least 1 red one to go with the commander in TOR starfighter from this year? I was hoping for a red helmet for him! It would have been nice to see some variation. 2. I know that battle packs are battle packs, and they don't put a lot of effort into the models, but... look how unbelievably tiny they are. We get that ONE speeder in TOR BP, and granted a brick-built gun for the clone, but still!! And the AOTC BP droidekas are absolutely tiny- they don't have arms! Anybody agree with me on this one? -

Uh, 'in a couple of months?' The sets will be on the shelves in a couple of months! We should be looking at preliminary pics sometime in September, with official pics significantly earlier than when the sets are released in December. -

... Sorry but why did you post that? We've already seen a review of this set. -
Legends of Chima 2013

Neither, he just meant that the theme is very similar to Avatar. -
One word: profit. TLC rarely ever makes any small polybag sets with rare figures. That way, it forces you to buy larger sets that do have those figures. The only exception in recent memory is the recent Thor polybag; until that was released, the cheapest set with Thor was $50, which is fairly expensive. A Nazgul polybag is an unattainable goal because Lego knows that a true fan needs nine of them, and therefore has to spend a lot of money on Weathertops to get nine. Making a polybag with such a mini fig would cause them to lose money. Frodo is the central character in the LOTR story, so a polybag with him makes perfect sense. And everyone wants an army of Uruk-Hai, so that polybag will surely be popular, and TLC will probably make a lot of money off of it. There's your answer

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
TheBrickDaddy replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
No, it's been known for a while that Lego did plan to release a FD. We don't know if they canceled it because they canceled the entire line, or if they canceled it because the large ships weren't selling well. -

Sorry but he may have added that in himself, the set doesn't come with a new blue lightsaber blade color... That's too bad because I was hoping for it too! -

Wow. Just wow. Even with the terrible piece to price ratio, that is a really well-done set. I am pleasantly surprised. Saesee Tiin's face looks terrible though, other than that, they nailed it. -
Has anyone done an in-depth review of the Orc Forge yet? I know brickset had one, but it was only a few pictures...

Hi all, I hope it is ok to post this here! I have always owned one of the rare Leia Minifigs from the 10198 Tantive IV set, with the mis-moulded smooth hair. I recently noticed that on BL, this minifig can fetch anywhere from $250 to $300 dollars- there are only three listed. Although I certainly need the money right now, should I wait and see if the value for this minifig increases even more? Do you even think it will? Any comments are appreciated Thanks, The Brick Daddy

Not yet, I called three today. Target.com has them though.
-
They are all printed! All three of them! Not a DSS to be seen in that set I was lucky enough to pick up the Uruk-Hai set at my local TRU. The set is so amazing that the mark-up is worth it, especially since the markup for that set is the best mark-up to MRSP ratio. Also picked up a Gandalf set to sell for a quick buck Let me just say... wow. These minifigs are OUTSTANDING.

Dang, I just missed the pictures! Would someone mind telling me what the minifigs for Pre Vizsla's star fighter are, since I didn't get to see them? Thank you! -
I, also, was told that there will be at least one more 'wave' of Kingdoms sets. I am PRAYING for a dragon knights castle!!

I wonder... does anyone think that the mini Clone Wars MTT could signify a normal-scale set being released soon? I doubt it, but hey, it's not a bad idea... -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
TheBrickDaddy replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Sorry, but not a chance. The malevolence is far too large to be $80. The millennium falcon was $140 this summer, so expect that to be the highest price mark for either the malevolence or Jabbas palace. And thanks so much for the pic, Grogall! That mini AT-AT looks fairly accurate, plus the way you put the microfigs in the back is adorable! -

Any news on the UCS B-Wing and R2-D2? I have a feeling that since we haven't gotten word by now, we'll have to wait till the toy fair... -

If this Flying Dutchman set is true, it better not turn out like the Black Pearl, or I will have lost all hope for TLG. -

Of course they all look too simple- they're prelims! Just wait till the first official pics come out, then you'll see all the new stuff. Jabba's palace, I can easily tell, will be HEAVILY altered before the actual sets are released. So don't worry! -
Why haven't we seen any EB reviews yet?

Almost all of the new city sets are listed and in stock on toysrus.com in the USA. This is crazy, since when have the winter sets ever been released in October??
