I think this ship is quite 'boxy' but on the other hand it's a nice ship. The colours are great and ofcourse it's size is also very impressive. I think you should make the part below the stern a bit more curved, for the rest it's ok. I also think it would be nice to put some firebuckets above the doors (instead of the lantern, something like this:http://static.photo.net/attachments/bboard...8s-23060084.jpg) Very impressive floating fort!

WIP: Achille and Guerrière, French Frigates of 28 guns
Admiral Croissant replied to BrickPerfection's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very, very fine ship. Actually it's exactly what I'm planning to make but I use a very different technique (and other colours) and I think yours (or CGH´s) is better. The headrails are very great, as well as the grates. I think the tiles also look great but ofcourse they make the ship less playable. For the rest I think this is just going to be a good ship and I'd love to see this one with sails. Do you already know how you are going to make them? -
We do have something very similar, on the 11th of november. Children go to houses just like with halloween. But then they sing a song, holding a chinese lantern in their hands. And after that, they get candies. So it's about the same as halloween but with a song and without all the scary things. But there are still a lot of pumpkins Well, I didn't see anything with Halloween last night, but I did see a 'scary' movie called sleepy hollow

Extreme Makeover: Fortress Edition (MOC)
Admiral Croissant replied to CMP's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
It's hard to say something about a castle you can hardly see But I can spot some nice things on the other pictures. You could make the luxury stand look a little bit better by adding brown tiles to it. For the rest that one looks good (I like the golden dish a lot). The meat stand is also a nice thing (fruit wouldn't be very realistic for trolls ) Good work, but I hope the pictures will be better next time, good luck! -
Nice, this is a very cool idea! There should have been a mammoth as well because that's what they really find in the ice these days. But ofcourse a dinosaur would be even more interesting

I think Admiral M is correct. But be aware! If you use the standard lego hulls, the hight is not really 2 times the width. I think 1 or 1,5 times is better in that case because the standard hulls make it look like the ship is floating. So in that case, part of the hull is under water. The masts: I believe the main mast has to be as long as the hull and the foremast a little bit shorter and the final mast even shorter than the foremast.

Funny! Trick or treat?

Amazing work! If I would name all the nice details of this MOC I would spent hours making this post, so I keep it short For example I really like the shooting cannons, the shark , the fire, the skeletons, the buildings and ofcourse the overall look. And I also see what the redcoats did wrong. They hanged a skeleton pirate, That's asking for trouble ofcourse! One question: How did you put the skeleton arm in the normal torso?

The only thing I don't like about this is that you use the same part of the film about 10 times in the conversation ( I mean the part in which he raises his hand). But for the rest it was very funny and the music and sound effects were also very nice! And can you also make a movie like this with croissants instead of fishes?

Yes..unfortunately they didn't give a present to us In the train I saw that the minifig in the pack had my face so it would be nice to have a second one in the case I lost mine. But I did't really leave bagless because I bought about 11 minifigs and some bricks there. And a very bad thing: I lost one of my 2 only croissants there on the event

you could have put a bit more work in the 'landscape' but for the rest it's very funny I like the faces and the fact he steals a 'pig' also made me laugh I'm ready for halloween now! (though we don't celebrate it that much here in Holland)

Awesome MOC! A lot of nice details and great work on the dentist-chair. I think it's quite brave that the imperial moves into the chair when he sees all the weapons around it though

'Behind The Helm' Episode #13 - Captain Zuloo
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Zuloo's topic in LEGO Pirates
Thanks for this interview again Actually, putting the interview on your Ipod was quite a good idea. I think I'm going to do that next time, so I can listen while working on my lego ship -
First my name was Ynykly, but I heard from several people that it was a silly name. And actually, I aggreed with them So I thought of a new one, and since I like the pirate forum the most, I wanted it to be a naval name. And since I'm also building a french ship, I wanted a french naval name, and it also had to be funny. And finally I wanted something to identify myself with, so with a certain utility. So I took the name 'Admiral Croissant'

It's the lego version of a certain part of a sort of amusement park that no longer exists. Here is a picture: Click Here

That sure was a great day! It was much more fun than I had ever expected and I finally got some bluecoats there for a very reasonable price I'm sure I'll go there again Next year.

Awesome that you are als making the inside of the ship now. It looks very nice ( but also very narrowly). I also like the fact that the white wall can be removed for when there's a battle. The only thing about this ship that I don't really like is the skeg (?, wood beneath the figurehead), it looks like it's loose from the bow. -
My first ship "ORP Johannes Cassimirus Rex"

http://www.purgit.com/dictiona.html Might be useful if you try to explain something next time -
It's a nice start, with a good crew, fine cannons and a very nice figurehead I think some sails would be useful too Good luck on this ship, and hopefully, with your next ship(s)!

Very nice ship! very piraty , I only miss a big pirate flag. The masts are on the right place and it's well-armed. I also like the fact that you can tore it apart a bit so you can get a look inside the ship (and cabin). Last thing: I should get rid of the small mast on the back of the ship because that was quite unusual at the time. Good luck with your movies and stuff

I'd say, just sent a pm to Woody. If you don't know how to: search one of his posts, then click on his name and choose 'send message' -

This MOC sure is very great, but what is the story behind it?

very nice building I'm looking forward to see it giving light and being placed on a cliff. does it have bells somewhere?
