Happy New Year everyone! Hopefully the number of visitors will double again this year In the New-Zealand 'new year' topic there was some talking about time differences and it made me think.. I suddenly thought that time travelling is sort of possible because in some parts of the world, it's already 2010. And people of those countries can travel to another country where it's still 2009! Well that was all, not very special but quite funny. Best wishes in 2010! (I don't know if people say 'best wishes' in English, but anyway )

Romans or Greeks/Spartans
Admiral Croissant replied to Emperor Claudius Rome's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I think mythical creatures would be very nice for kids to play with. I think to them, that's the most important thing. Personally, I don't mind which one would be produced. But it would be very nice to have one of the two. I spent most of my time in the pirate forum and I think roman or greek women would be good figureheads since a lot of the figureheads were godesses with roman/greek dresses. So I think Greek would be the best because of the cool mythical creatures -
Very nice ship! Great work on the sails and rigging. As a pirate I would be very pleased with this ship, it looks very fast and light It might have a bit too many cannons because there doesn't seem to be much space for other things than cannons on the deck. I think you could remove a few cannons, as pirates preferred boarding other ships (but if you like the cannons, keep them ) I like sails that are almost out of proportion, so I have to like this ship as well One question: what are al those flames for? Anyway, good job

I think you should turn the white bricks on the hull into black because this white line looks a bit strange. For the rest it looks rather good. I like the colourscheme. The blue and yellow make it almost look like this french flag: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:France_Ancient.svg

Great entry, really staff-worthy A lot of nice details and techniques Because so many people have mentioned all those techniques before, I leave it with this. The use of sigfigs is also nice Wonderfoul entry Erdbeereis!

Nice minifigs, nice flag. It's a rather good MOC, especially if you know how important this meeting was. I believe I have also spotted the ancestors of Capt. Greenhair and Commodore Hornbricker, so they seem to be related somehow (both spanish ancestors)...how ironic

You could have found it very easily in the ship MOC index. But here it is: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21901

Congratulations! You all did a great job! I really enjoyed watching all the nice entries

Great head! I want one of those too! Hopefully the Atlantis theme has more interesting pirate stuff This is promising...

Can we trust a RAT who says he never lies? I think he lies about the fact he never lies

Wonderfoul! You have really captured the 'arabic spirit' in this MOC. It has a lot of nice details and techniques. People can learn a lot from this (at least, I can ) Didn't they want to release camels in 2010? that would also be a nice touch to this MOC. But it's very good already

This is what I got: - -Nothing - We don't celebrate it with presents, we had another, rather similar thing earlier this year with presents But then I got things like 'Empire Total War', some books, some comics and some other funny things

I believe this is a bit off-topic, but if even the 'important' members give an answer, why not me? I hope to be there as well, if they allowe my ship to sail their waters Otherwise I'll go there as a spectator again

[COMIC] "Kings And Queens Of The Sea" - Episodes
Admiral Croissant replied to Dreamweb's topic in Pirate MOCs
Good new episode I liked the fighting scene especially the 'blurry' image of Nancy Also good to give us a sort of overall-look of some of the characters. Can't whait to see the next episode, with more action -
Nice MOC, full of detail. It might look a bit chaotic but if you look closer it just has a lot of nice details. For example, the chicken above the volcano is very funny, as well as the underwater scene. Christmas is a present itself because it gives you time to build things like this So good work!

Queens' Quest Chapter I: Witchcraft
Admiral Croissant replied to Sandy's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Nice story, good pictures! Funny enough the queen in our country (Holland) is called 'Beatrix' as well (maybe you have heard that before, but I tell you anyway ) I hope to see more soon -
That wall technique is very ingenious! Yet another nice use of common lego-hands I must admid that it looks quite scary if you believe those are bodies But if you believe it are bags, it looks very great! Awesome creation!

Yes that's what I am. And although I'm dutch I still don't really know what an 'aagje' exactly is

...and so I did! The result: I still don't know what this is all about...

Well, I'm not a 'pro' but I had about the same problem. I also bought a wooden model kit. But fortunately I knew a man who makes wooden models himself (for museums and stuff) and he would like to help me. So now my ship is nearly finished, it has only 1 mast but it was still very difficult to build. So I must warn you, it's really not easy. And if you have someone to help you, he can always replace parts that are wrong-sawed or something like that and that's very useful So try to find someone who is good at building things with wood. And otherwise try to make a plastic model first (or maybe you already did) My best tip is not to hurry too much, take your time. Otherwise you might for example saw parts wrong and you have only one chance. The ship looks great, I hope you will manage to build it. It's also good to improve the sail-making skills for lego That's all for now, good luck!

Haha that was funny And it's an easy way of making money Also funny that the feathers are on top of the indian's head instead of 'behind'it xD
-
Now that is ingenious If I can't find any other way to do it, I might 'steal' it, hope you don't mind

I believe two different people are saying about the same thing now
