This looks good. I like that gate on the side of the building and the red lines on the first picture. Are you also going to make stairs to the 2 big towers? It's still quite massive and could youse some details, but I suppose you add them later (it just looks a bit empty without all the minifigs). Good job on the arches as well. This is sure going to be a mighty fort!

There you have an interesting question! About 50 years ago, France had a ship that looked a lot like the Victory and also participated in the battle of Trafalgar. The stern and figurehead still exist today. Here are some pictures: http://hmsbd.free.fr/implacable/implacable.htm And currently, they are building one of their good ships again, the Hermione, a frigate, and here is the site: http://www.hermione.com/en/the-hermione-project/the-history/ You might not like the French, but as a ship-lover you have to like the fact they are building one again And I'm really sad they didn't save the other one, it would be a good inspiration.

And the Endeavour is also in Sidney isn't it? I'd rather go there if I had the chance, but that's on the far side of the world for me

Visiting The Amsterdam, 23 August 2009
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Blackmoor's topic in LEGO Pirates
I haven't been there, but I read something about it too. It's too overcrowded for me, but maybe I'll go to sailAmsterdam some day. Great to have those kinds of events. And the clipper 'stad Amsterdam' just left Holland, and now it's going to Plymouth and after that it will make the same (around the world) trip Darwin made. Could be a nice thing to follow a bit. The site is: http://www.stadamsterdam.com/content/news/.../2009/03/06.xml Yes it is.. but we also have a small 'Statenjacht'-ship And ofcourse there are currently two ships in the make, the 'Delft' and the 7 Provinciën. -
Visiting The Amsterdam, 23 August 2009

Yeah, that really was a great day in a great city and with great ships. I'd love to live in Amsterdam! Hey do I see a boat for sale on the first image? -
Ok, my last post, after that I will stop with this endless conversation he's still your supreme, so you have supremes as well.

Some ideas and stuff like that: Figurehead: The name of the ship could be inspiration for the figurehead. You could put a minifig on in as a figurehead. You can take a look in the ship index (http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7440) for ways to attach them. Lanterns, furniture and cannons: Take a look in the index, there is a cannon and a lantern index: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=8875 And for the masts: The real lego masts are the best (and there are different diameters). If you build them custom they are often quite fragile.

Nope, but it is if you definetely don't earn to be rich. Yes I have. I only wouldn't have them if I was the king, but the king wouldn't command a ship (at least, not as main job) Oh, and what is that in your signature? For King and country?

At this moment I'm not searching for trouble because my ship isn't finished yet. But as soon as it is, I will try to fight and defeat the next enemies: Pirates Merchants, but only the ones who are worth it. and no french or spanish ones. I don't care about mermaids because they can't get through my hulls with spears. I'm not attacking privateers because there could be a chance they are from the same country as I am. But if they attack me, I'll fight back! :pir-skull: I'm disgusted by redcoats and by the british. I will even sink them if they shouldn't be worth it (for example 2 redcoat soldiers in 1 lifeboat) The Americans are my friends (they also like the revolution and hate the rich people that only got power because their family is rich, like in Great Britain.), as well as the Dutch. I also hate islanders because they are too primitive. And that's about it. Sometimes I could also attack other nations if my supremes want me to.

Coastal Gates in Zadar, 16th century, Historical MOC
Admiral Croissant replied to z_zadar's topic in Pirate MOCs
Amazing! This looks very good Great work on the winged-lion (or something like that) have you also made something on the other side of this building? And is there a reason for that joker standing there? -
The ship looks good as a first ship MOC, but it could use some improvement (like someting to get into the crow's nest), but I think that will come with the time. I really like your flags, how did you make them?
-
good MOC, I think the people feel save there. The blue house is nice (no colours looks boring) and I also like the small bridge between the 2 brown plates. To your ladder problem: I dont really see wich rock you mean, but if you mean the big part with white buildings and 2 cannons, I think something like stairs or a ramp would look good. If you mean the small tower with 1 cannon, I would have used a ladder.

I don't know wich sets exactly, but I have the armada ship, some islanders and 1 or 2 small pirate sets. And recently I bought 3 redcoats. And for the rest I just buy what I want on bricklink.

A new Captain for our lego fleet! Welcome Stoneface! Funny first MOC, good introdution.
-
If a lot of people don't want them anymore because they are 'old' I hope they will sell them for a very fine price. Than I will buy them and train them to an army just as good as the new ones (maybe even better, they are more experienced). If I read the previous posts, I don't think it will be hard to get rid of them
-
Looks like a fine party You have really inspired me with the 'painting' of Louis in the background. I think I'm going to use that to put some paintings in the ship I'm making.
-
-Thanks! They really look great . Maybe you could also put a bayonet on his rifle like on the second pic. (could be a nice touch).
-
Looking good! I searched some images of this type of army, but I coud only find guys with other uniforms than this one. But this army lived for a very long time so I suppose your soldiers are just from another time Well, anyway, they look good and the feather-thing on the head is also a nice add. Do you have pictures of real soldiers with this uniform? I always like to compare these things.

RedCoat vs BlueCoat discussion thread
Admiral Croissant replied to Captain Cannon's topic in Pirate MOCs
I support Capt. Bluehair's idea. let's make it another round, the 2 winners of that round play a third round and that will decide who wins. And maybe the best entry of that team can get a prize -
SNOT is a good way to build the water, since you can always place minifig's in boats. On the dock I would prefer the bricky way. That will make it a lot easier to place figs and other stuff on it. or maybe you could use both in a way..(btw, that gun looks pretty dangerous )
-
I'm not going to make the same trouser-joke again, though for a moment, I thought the same..The decals are great just as the plume and the round Napoleon-thing on their hats. Maybe it's an idea to try this on flesh-colour minifigs? I'm really curious of how that would look like, you could give it a try
