  1. Actually it is not a sticker. It's a Kindle, with the briefing screen rendered in a drawing program. Working on animating the briefing screen soon.
  2. Hi Goatman461! Nice variant of my design - I like it a lot Looks almost like a stealth B-Wing variant. Can't wait to see your freebuild
  3. You mean like this.... Love the landing gear ScottishDave!
  4. I just realized my B-Wing model is over 6 years old! I posted my version 1.0 on Brickshelf in January 2008 - lost count of how many versions I am up to now! The great thing about LEGO is they are introducing new, interesting parts every year.
  5. Been busy revising some areas of my design, thought I'd pop a few photos up. I've altered the back of the cockpit using curved 4 x 2 slopes and a combo of 2 x 2 inverted dish with round tile with hole. I've also made use of the better sized orange stickers from the 75050 and re-done the framework holding the cockpit using 4 x 1 curved slopes. Other than that just a couple of touch ups around the main wing plating and engine block. All I need to do now is finish off my dark red B-wing model.
  6. Wow....just wow <thud as jaw drops> Absolutely the best Lego model I have ever seen. Magnificent!
  7. Sand Blue has become extremely rare and expensive in the UK over the past few years unfortunately. I was lucky when I first collected the necessary components. Also just picked up some Sand Blue 2 x 4 tiles for a reasonable price, so sometimes it just takes patience and a bit of luck.
  8. To be honest I cannot remember the exact cost but I did build the original model over several months with various versions until I got it just right. But it certainly did not cost as much as that to build two B-Wings. But I suspect some parts have become rarer and more expensive since then.
  9. Yeah, the light bluish gray 4x4 wedge slopes are pretty rare having only been available in the 2007 mini-scale AT-ST annoyingly . Thinking back I believe I did have to order a number of pieces outside of the UK. Unfortunately you don't get wedge plate, 8 x 4 wings in sand green. If anybody tries different colour options (orange, yellow, chrome) please post a pic
  10. It's a shame sand blue is in such short supply. An alternative colour scheme I pondered at one time is sand green which appear to be more prevalent on Bricklink. I was obviously lucky when I built the B-Wing years ago! Structurally I have never had any problems with stability. I am thinking through some ideas for an internal landing gear which I need to test out. I did consider building a vignette of the 'Flurry' landing bay to hold my B-Wings. http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20081001132258/starwars/images/0/0a/Flurry_egvv.jpg
  11. Finally got some decent weather and good sunlight to get some outdoor edited photos of my three A-wings (I've also got another forth dark red one with an exposed engine turbine etc).
  12. Quick update here with some better pics of the alterations I've made underneath the model.
  13. First off, I really appreciate the effort you're going into ScottishDave! I've found that connecting the engine wheel piece to a 1 x 1 stud, then plugging it into the technic brick 1 x 1 with hole is fairly robust.
  14. A little preview of things to come... https://www.dropbox.com/s/agmbh7kigjwuenn/20140304_000214_Richtone%28HDR%29.jpg
  15. The closest image indicating the location of landing gear that I've ever found is this pic (I've circled the struts). Potentially you could squeeze something inside my sandwiched plate hull and technic framework, but it would still probably not stop the B-wing rocking forward without some heavier weight near the exhausts.
  16. Hey everyone Thanks for all the kind comments. Still got a lot of work to do on this MOC - the beauty of LEGO is tinkering, changing and adding new pieces! Hopefully will post an update soon when more bricklink orders arrive! I plan on adding a few more sections to the base and more lighting - plus something else rather special I do plan on building a removable surface section above the base - just haven't decided on the type of planet - desert, jungle, icy terrain ? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks again guys
  17. Hey ScottishDave Great looking build! I have a soft spot for Dark Red too! And getting those pieces in Sand Blue did take a fair bit of time I have always been especially proud of my B-Wing's stability and 'swooshability'. Nice to see a fellow Scot on the forum. It's great seeing all these B-Wing builds based on my design - many thanks to Krispy for publishing the instructions. Looking forward to seeing more B-Wings in the future.
  18. Thanks for the comments guys! The build finally clicked with me once I came up with the nose area using sloped bricks, wedge plates and a bunch of carefully placed bracket bricks for holding the SNOT together. The rest of the speeder followed pretty easily with it's simple design, plus there aren't many windscreen pieces that'll both fit and give a sleek profile. I'd be up for building another - I'd imagine the pieces limiting any colour scheme would be side fairings, the wedge plates underneath the cockpit, and the front slopes 2 x 1 x 2.
  19. SoroSuub is proud to present the very latest in luxury transport - the V-35 Courier. Featuring a spacious two-humanoid compartment and and topside flexible rumble seat or cargo space, struggling with luggage is a thing of the past. The cutting edge repulsorlift drive and tri-thrust turbine arrangement can take you to a maximum cruising speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Whether you're traversing the dunes of Tatooine or the busy highways of Corellia, the V-35 Courier is the vehicle for you! ---- Hi again everyone, thought I'd share my latest creation that fits along nicely with my T-16 skyhopper - what's commonly known as the Lars family landspeeder! Let me know your thoughts about it.
  20. A slightly better photo of my Y-Wings. I'll try take some more later. Thanks Doc ! Sorry for the mix up! Lots of work still to go on this, but the fun is in adding new details and continuing building!
  21. Hmmm.... That B-Wing design looks awfully familiar I wonder where Lego got the idea for the engine lol Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery I suppose
  22. Posted some better photos of the Rebel forces which populate this base in the 'Show your army' thread - LINK
  23. Took some nice photos of my Rebel Alliance forces which I thought I would share with you guys. These guys populate my rebel base Hopefully get some shots of my Imperial Army and Navy later!
