I really enjoyed the movie. The wost things about it were the lame and/o just plain not good voices. But those were only brief. I think they did the characterization on most characters really well. This movie's made me pumped for 2010, and it makes me want to buy the sets! It's effective on every level! (I also LOVE the style and animation. It reminds me of BIONICLE Heroes, and I loved BIONICLE Heroes' style~)

So I just saw the intro in English thanks to an Australian connection. (And before you ask, yes I will buy the movie when it comes out in the US. I just realy wanna watch it now.) I've gotta say, the intro in English is actualy pretty good. I really like the music so far, it's kind of like MoL but genericized. Every moment with robot Mata Nui still angers me, though.

I just saw the opening, and . . . Well, I guess it's not competely terrible. Mata Nui's awakening has absolutely nothing on what Ghost did. I guess it was fun to see Mata Nui's beaches and stuff, but the entire island was supposed to have been cleansed by the Bohrok, so there weren't supposed to be any trees or visible Wahis. The scenes set inside the MU weren't that bad, though Karda Nui by then was supposed to have been consumed completely by the energy storms. I liked seeing the generic Matoran so well animated, though. That part made me happy. The only thing I can say I HATE about this opening is every scene with robot Mata Nui. It just completely angered me to see how they ruined the Great Spirit's original form. I can't say the graphics were exactly terrible though. I will agree with whoever said these people don't understand lighting, though. That's completely true. Whew. I think that's my share of fanwank for the next week or so. At least until the actual movie comes out and/or somebody DVDRips it. (GO AUSTRALIANS, GO! WE'RE COUNTING ON YOU!!!)

My only question about the movie is the actual quality of it. Was it a good movie overall?

Bota Magna, hmm . . . Interesting. I take it it's derived from "Botany" meaning plants and stuff since it seems like a jungle area . . . Cool, I guess. -
I just wanted to say that I loved the Piraka and the Inika for the use of teeth and actual mouths on the sets themselves. I thought that was a really cool thing they did with those masks.

Hmm, that clip wasn't exactly terrible. There were a few parts I enjoyed. Glad to see there were elemental powers, though. It was kinda cool to see them with current-gen graphics. (I was always for elemental powers in Bara Magna. It just didn't feel like BIONICLE without them. Especially since they've barely been used recently anyway.) No matter how bad the dialouge was, the animation was superb. I really like the way the characters are animated in this one. It makes me feel as if the toys actually came to life instead of things that vaguely looked like the toys coming to life. (Which was my number one problem with the first three.) -

If I could get a second Gresh helmet for a reasonable price, sure. (But first I have to get Gresh himself. Which I'll do after Kiina and Gelu.) -
Wow, now that you mention it, it does look a lot like giant Mata Nui. Only a lot . . . yellower. I wonder if the set designers took looked at the CGI Mata Nui as a reference?

I mutilated an Ignika to make it more movie-accurate. Check it out: Gallery when/if public.

Okay, here's the cut-up Ignika: I used a razorblade and a steak knife to do this, and haven't gotten any sanding paper to smooth it out yet. The fuzziness was inevitable. And the right side of the mouth hole isn't cut the exact same way the other side was, so it's kind of uneven. On Mata Nui himself, the mask looks fine, IMO. I'm still not entirely satisfied with it, though. I really need sand paper to get rid of those fuzzy parts. Folder when/if public. So whaddya you guys think? -

Oh yeah, I did didn't I? I did it about a week ago, but completely forgot about taking pictures of it or anything. (It's kinda roughly done, but not as rough as the other guy who did it.) Pictures in a few minutes . . . -
Well, I guess the Sahmad thing is plausible, but the element lords thing is, for the most part, wrong. The Toa were the Great Being's creations, created to work inside Mata Nui and defend the Matoran. They were created after the Shattering, inside Mata Nui, and only inside Mata Nui. But their elemental powers were based on the Element Lords. So I guess you can say that they have a relation, but they are not one and the same. (As far as I can recall, the element lords were just normal member's of the Glatorian species until the GBs decided to use them as proxies to rule over Spherus Magna.)

Seeing Skrall really made me want to get one. I had no idea it was so well and complicatedly sculpted . . . It looks really cool.

Wow. That was a really cool clip. I definitely saw Telluris' head and part of his body on Skopio. The talking to a bug thing actually made me laugh, and Kiina's voice doesn't sound bad when it's coming from the actual character's mouth. The dialouge seemed stiff and they exaggerated random words, though. Maybe they just had to do that for because they are on a noisy vehicle, but my expectations for the voice acting just dropped. Also: Angonce, huh? That doesn't sound like such a bad GB name. It's got a different name scheme than anything else in BIONICLE, and I think it works well . . . -
Well, I personally believe the initial six sets that were revealed. Which were (aside from two) MU characters. So as far as I'm concerned, MU characters are returning next year. Or at least Tahu, Takanuva, "Rahkshi" and "Piraka" are returning.
-
If there are MU characters coming back next year, and they're going to try to fight Makuta, don't you think mata Nui would want more than just a few run of the mill toa and . . . whatever else? I'd imagine that Tren Krom could be a mighty contender against Teridax since he was in control of Mata Nui before.
-
Hey, wait. I just had an idea . . . What if the reason Greg gave Tren Krom an actual (READ: Set-possible) body was becuase he's planned on being a set next year? It would vaguely make sense . . .
-
If that's the case, then I desperately hope "Piraka" is Vezon.

That was pretty cool. But what's all this talk about Baterra and The Shattering being in the next graphic novel? -

I pronounce suffixes diffrerently than character names, because I called Le-Koro "Lay Koh-roh" and Ga-Koro "Guh-Koro". -

I remember being so annoyed that they called him that in that CD thing. (But he was called "Lee-wuh" in the movie.) I also remember hating how they called him"Loo-wuh" in BIONICLE: The Game. It may have evengivenme a nightmare once . . . -

I call Gelu "Geh-loo" and I called Lewa "Lee-wuh". I don't like saying them with "Ay" sounds because it just sounds weird to me. :/ -

So, I finally got around to making Mata Nui's Ignika movie accurate, and I like the result. I could post a picture if you guys are interested. (It took forever to cut up, though. Dx)
