  1. If my opinion counts, I'd much rather have Ben 10 in Licensed, especially since the Ben 10 sets are just barely based on the BIONICLE platform. The replacement line, well I guess it'll have to be seen how similar it is to BIONICLE before I can form an opinion on whether it should go here or not, but it's more than likely going to be put here whether it's similar t BIONICLE at all or not.
  2. I'd have to say Vezon, Strakk, Takanuva, and of course Makuta himself.
  3. Holy hell that poster is amazing! I was hoping the MP3 would be a new song, but oh well. I guess Dorn talking about stuff is almost as good. (Stars poster is pretty cool too.)
  4. The set is called 8586-1 Macku, and was released in 2003. Brickset link. As for instructions, Here you are. :D Dammit, Bfahome beat me.
  5. Wait what? When I first clicked on that linkk it said they were each $10.99? Maybe it was a temporary glitch?
  6. Yeah, but they're eleven dollars. >_>
  7. Yeah, the original Toa were the most under developed. The Metru each had their own ways of growing and learning, and their character development is what made '04 my favorite BIONICLE year. ('05 messed it up a bit though. It had promise to give the characters even more depth when presented with becoming monsters, but they screwed it up by turning Vakama evil and focusing on his 'development'.) But the Inika were incredibly well-developed. Especially Matoro, Jaller and Hahli. Matoro had the whole 'Ignika testing him' thing, while feeling that he shouldn't be a Toa. Once he begins to take command of the team when they become Mahri, Jaller even gets jealous of him. And there's even a pseudo love-triangle between Jaller, Matoro and Hahli implied around the Mahri-Nui arc. In fact, there was an entire web serial dedicated to Matoro's development. (Of course all character development plots were killed in '08 when the Nuva had already gone through their 'character development', and were just pretty boring. Then '09 had a great premise for character development with every single character, but the movie absolutely MURDERED that premise. It even regressed Gresh.) So the personalities of a few Toa teams have been really deep, while others were just shallow and couldn't be changed. But I wouldn't call any of the characters since the Metru-Nui arc 'generic'. At least not any of the main set heroes. Side characters and bad guys get pretty generic a lot . . .
  8. As messed up as BIONICLE had recently become, I'm disappointed that it had to go now. The Bara Magna story really seemed promising and returned BIONICLE vaguely to it's roots. (Sets that actually looked like their element, etc.) But I guess it just wasn't raking in enough money for LEGO. The Stars, as awesome as they are, are a really disappointing way to end the line, though . . .
  9. Gee, that really kinda sucks. I had hoped these rumors of BIONICLE's end were just that, rumors. :( I hope the new line is at least tangetically related to the BIONICLE Universe. :/
  10. So hey, do you guys know anything about the Stars being a store other than Toys 'R' Us?
  11. If I get a Star anytime soon, I'll undoubtedly make a review of it post-haste. Anyway, that poster is win. It really satiates my nostalgia.
  12. Wow. These Stars are so damn sexy. I don't think there's a single one I dislike. That said, I want Tahu and Skrall first. I really hope they come around here soooooooooon. D: (Golden Tahu doesn't really impress me as much as I thought he would though. So that's a definite disappointment. As far as I'm concerned though, I'm just going to call Golden Tahu Lhikan and be happy.)
  13. If there is just ONE more BIONICLE set, then I REALLY hope it's a System robot Mata Nui set. A UCS set preferably. Maybe with redesigned Matoran and Toa minifigs that represent a few of the most important Toa and Matoran from the past.
  14. O_O Hoy hell. Finally! The Stars have arrived! (Sue it's about half a month sooner than they should have, but I'm not complaining. And I highly doubt anyone else is either.) (Also, Tahu Star = WIN)
  15. Well really when you think about it, Nektann could easily be called by the title of "Piraka". He's a warlord, meaning he's had to have killed and stolen things in the past. Likely lots of things. So he's probably even been called 'Piraka' as a profanity by plenty of people before.
  16. Also, wouldn't it be not too far off to assume that Nektann decided to lead our favorite gang of thugs after Zaktan's death? (Likely gaining leadership by forceful means.)
  17. Well after staring at these pictures for quite a while, I'm starting to want both of these incredibly. The 'Piraka' set is really cool, and did a really nice job of transferring the original Piraka design to the Av-Matoran body. The only thing I don't like about it is it's smile (or lack thereof). But the rest is more or less complete win. I just want to know if the spines decrease articulation at all? The 'Rahkshi' set looks really good. Just like a bite-sized son of Makuta should. They did a real nice job of transferring it's design too. And the bright yellow color brings back the nostalgia of bright colored Piraka back in the day. I really hope they have one of these next time I go to Wal*Mart.
  18. Wow. So does this mean the Stars are already in stores? They look super sexy. Still not a big fan of Piraka's face, but his design is great, and oh Lord I love the Rahkshi. @ Bundalings: I think Greg said it wouldn't get a name because there were no names left on the approved names list that befitted a Rahkshi. So I guess we won't.
  19. WAIT. Where did these come from? Did you personally find them, Brickthing!? :O
  20. I recall the first chapter saying it was quite some time before the tournament itself . . .
  21. Eh, the new chapter isn't great, but oh well. I guess since he had to end it in a pinch, he had to come up with some contrived plot device to achieve a vaguely satisfying end. But wait, if Tarduk returned to Atero after the Skrall attack, then how was he watching Gresh train the night before the attack on Atero?
  22. It actually does. I wonder why no one's asked Greg hundreds of pointless questions for whether or not they're the same species yet . . .
  23. Wow. That graphic novel looks amazing.
  24. I agree, the storyline's been too muddled up. But I don't want BIONICLE to end. I just want it to reboot more or less. Maybe some familiar characters (Like Makuta. He needs to be in every year. Always.), and possibly on a familiar setting with familiar species, but with a new fresh storyline. That would make me happy. Of course, I wouldn't be too upset if they kept BIONICLE going the way it is right now, and have 2011 as a mission to find the key that unlocks Mata Nui's soul chamber and so the Ignika creates a new group of toa from previous Matoran (or something else equally ridiculous).
  25. You'e completely wrong. Both about the Piraka body and the Av-Matoran body. The only thing that was wrong with the Piraka body was the lack of ability to but armor on it. Other than that, it's exactly lie the Inika chest piece. And the Av-Matoran build can be used and abused to do some really creative things if you just try. Like I said: Zesk. Totally unique and awesome build. Works great.
