Mystical Castle - Discussion
Sir Dillon replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Dragonator, I think you mean Captain Geoffrey died. I'm Mallory. -
If TLG Were to Revisit a Castle Faction
Sir Dillon replied to Sir Dillon's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
True, there are some are very neat combinations you can make through mixing parts from older and newer factions. One that comes to mind is using the Crown Knights' silver armour on Black Falcons or Crusaders. (example) Interesting choice! I don't care for the Fright Knights, primarily because I feel the sets were poorly designed. The line's premise was fine though, and it would be neat to see what it would look like if it were reinvented. -
All the discussion about the future of the current Castle line makes me wonder, if the LEGO Group was to revisit one of their past factions, either as a part of the current Fantasy line or as its replacement, what would you want it to be? By revisit I don't mean a rerelease of earlier sets, but instead a new range of sets revolving around said faction. So, what would you want to see? The return of the Black Falcons? Some more Wolfpack sets? Perhaps you'd like to see the Dragon Masters again?

Surprise Find! Not mine: Turku Castle in Lego
Sir Dillon replied to Teddy's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Very cool! The builder did a good job capturing the angles of the castle, and the style of mottling looks nice. The model doesn't look to be built in minifigure scale, but I think some minifig tourists roaming around could be fun, and add some life to the display. Thanks for sharing Teddy! -
Very impressive! The castle, windmill, and tudor building all look great, and the landscaping ties them together nicely. Is the black and grey castle also by you, or by Nick M.? Do you plan to take any more photographs? I would like to see some more of the finished project.

It seems unwise to ride a horse so close to the sleeping guard before offing him, but a nice scene nonetheless, with good posing and head choices.
-
I'll keep this open for you to post your pictures when you have them, but in the future please do not start threads until you have something to share.

The lights are on, but nobody is home. Anyway, I think we've already convicted Geoffrey, and therefore your unvote doesn't matter. I'm actually growing very suspicious of you. I find it hard to believe you could be this disruptive and ignorant without trying it.
-
True, but at this point I'd rather try the theory on someone who I feel is a Dragon, rather than a person I believe to be innocent. If I turn out to be wrong and Geoffrey is innocent, then you can go after Richard.
-
I think anyone who has been paying attention realises I'm an investigator, so I may as well reveal what I've discovered. Day 1, I investigated Geoffrey, and found him to be loyal. Day 2, I investigated Ambassador Vipont, and found him to be a Dragon. Day 3, I investigated Edward Griffin, and found him to be loyal. Day 4, I investigated Ambassador Simnel, and found him to be a Dragon. Day 5, I investigated Peter the servant, and found him to be loyal. Day 6, I investigated Richard the guard, and found him to be a Dragon. It's possible that I could just be getting a pattern that switches what I find each night, and therefore has no relevance, but so far those that have died have been opposite what my investigation found (Vipont was actually loyal, and Edward Griffin was a Dragon). Because of this, I believe that Richard the guard is not a Dragon, and therefore am suspicious of both Geoffrey and Peter the servant. Vote: Captain Geoffrey/Escape the Fate

MOC: 10193 10199 Mashup - Medieval Christmas Village
Sir Dillon replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Town
I personally feel the combination of black farming and black roofing looks fine, but understand what you mean with the intimidation factor. The likeness in colours makes the house look warm and inviting. Another option for framing would be dark bley. -
MOC: 10193 10199 Mashup - Medieval Christmas Village
Sir Dillon replied to Svelte's topic in LEGO Town
I like the idea and the work you've done with it, but am not fond of the dark red and red brown mix; the colours are too close for my liking. I think it would look better if you changed the framing to black -
Very well done. I like the irregular base shape and the positioning of the castle atop the hill. The use of rods for the dock looks great.
-
In a way this makes me think of an upgraded set, with lots of playable spaces and an appealing colourscheme. The landscaping gives the tower a nice atmosphere, and the little hut is neat. Thanks for sharing!
-
I realize you are joking, but it could still be considered in poor taste. Please try to stay away from this line of humour.
-
What? I have made no private contact with you, and am not sure where you're getting these ideas. I don't what to make of this. The only way for us to find out if you're lying is for us to vote you off. If you are lying now, why would you then change your mind and vote for yourself in the morning? That, I can't find fault with you for.
-
It seems I was on the wrong side of the vote once again. Sorry everyone. Thanks for taking the time to put all that information down Nicholas. As for the "alibis" you ask for, I don't think you can count day one. It looks to me like no one was late, and I doubt Dragonator called those with night actions to use them before the game started. On day two, it does look like I arrived late, and I don't have any explanation for that. On day four, I don't see anything that points to me coming late. You can see that I'm on the far left in the later pictures. Not exactly great explanations, but it's the best I can give. Could you please post the results you've gotten? You may not have to post each person's name, but some more information might help us work what you're doing. My feelings on Lord Edward Griffin still stand, but I won't vote for him unless some other people will as well. I know that sounds bad, but I don't want to keep being a dead weight, voting for irrelevant people.
-
I believe Ricecracker is at least partially telling the truth. If he was a Dragon and lying, we would be able to call him out tomorrow, so I trust he is telling the truth about Simon. I'm not going to argue about me being a dead weight. It's true, I was useless yesterday and really have no excuse other than my own indecision. I hope to be better today. You make some good points here. As I said earlier, I believe Quarryman is innocent, and also believe Ricecracker about ISC, but agree with you about Stash2Sixx. I don't have anything to go on other than a gut suspicion, but that will have to be enough for now. Vote: Stash2Sixx/Lord Edward Griffin

I would be very surprised if you and Hinckley visit the same caves, considering where you both live. That is something to consider, though I prefer to be the only one exploring the cave at that time. Company in such tight places can be awkward.

Imagine yourself as CCC VII organisator...
Sir Dillon replied to Dr Kilroy's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I don't usually speculate on what categories will be used, and thus it is a pleasant surprise seeing what the Classic-Castle staff has come up with. Though thinking about it does make one appreciate the job the CC administrators do. I can't think of any new ideas offhand, but I wouldn't mind seeing another "Da Vinci" type category, where the builder is challenged to build a medieval invention that is ahead of its time. -
Thanks for the review Lorentzen! I think this is a great set for the price. It has a good selection of minifigures, a simple yet effective wall, and a nice siege engine. Is the headlight brick above the door meant for a shield? By the way, it looks like the gate segment in your set should be moved back one stud at the hinges by the tower, to eliminate the gap.
-
The lack of proper support makes me think that it would slide around too much and irritate my head. I suppose some people would prefer their headlamps to be loose like that, thus adding to the excitement, but I can't say it appeals to me. Still, it's nice to see TLG is branching out.

playmobil project - prison tower
Sir Dillon replied to medieval_total_lego's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I like how you kept to the spirit of the Playmobil set, but also made it your own. The addition of tudor looks good, and I like the use of your modular walls. Very well done! -
Great little scene Sir Gecko! It gave me a laugh.
-
I'm glad to see you are still working on this project. The first vignette looks good, but the stone is far too big for one man to be holding up like that. The second has a great sense of action. I like the fellow jumping out of the window. If you're looking for things to add, perhaps some smoke or dark bricks around the windows to represent scorched stone?
