It would indeed! I doubt they will do dwarves again, i mean that will be the third version of the same thing (Oh wait I forgot Lego Loves third versions! ) To be honest if fantasy is started again I want to see a new and improved orc that actually looks scary as opposed to cartoony. But back on topic, the toy shows are in 2 weeks so we will be seeing pics very very soon!

That's a hot model IcedCOffee! Loving the expression of the guy and the sarge hair. Very creative and elaborate use of parts, and congrats on the wonderful detail you've managed to fit into this small vehicle!

On the contrary, I hope that the accessories of some of these incredibly rare and overpriced figures become available in main-stream sets so AFOL"s don't go bankrupt trying to assemble an army of impossible to find figures. -

Warlock! Is that in the sense of male witch, or the sense of goblin-like creature? If that indeed is the list these will be epic. I wonder if the knight will be of an old faction like the forest man. I can see a black falcon knight! On a separate note I hope the baker has a new food accessory; that will make 2 for this series! -

I think the dwarf is carrying a regular old round shield since there is no stud in the middle. I really like that figure; it has the first ever printed dwarven face! (all the old ones had generic people faces) -
MOC: The Great "Magic" Sham
Sirens-of-Titan replied to Sirens-of-Titan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thank you all, I appreciate the comments! As far as I am aware that roof design is my own invention although that could be a really big statement to make if it isn't so I will say I haven't seen it before and it's new to me. -
My newest MOC: Story: And so the local Alchemist guild decided to finally turn something into gold; they realized that it was entertainment. All they needed was superstition and a few professionals. They hired craftsmen to build props, actors to play the role of wizards, builders to erect a temple and numerous other skilled entertainers to put on the greatest show in the Kingdom! The scheme works like this: 1) Craftsmen create the "magic items" and special effects 2) Actors put on a show with the help of Concealed puppeteers and wranglers 3) Citizens pay for the "magic elixir" brewed at the temple in gold and are entertained and wooed by the display of magic. They believe it's magic power can solve all problems, big and small. 4) The gold is then melted down and cast into bars which are shipped off to fund the dragon knight's campaign. But enough talk, here's the pictures: Temple/workshop "Wizards": Gold Smith: Alchemy Lab: Magic Props: The building: Guard dog: Also more there: MOC Pages This one is a bit elaborate and a lot of thought went into each section. Oh, then in that case you are correct, the only place I can find them in New York State is a little store called "Urban Outfitters" and they don't let you feel them. I pay about 65$ per full series on bricklink plus about 3$ for shipping, but so far I haven't been able to find a better alternative. -

To be perfectly honest if you want to get all of them bricklink is the place to do it; it's way less than buying separate figures and costs less per mini than they do at my nearest store I could feel them at. -
If they bring back the western theme they will include the bison 100% surely! This reminds me of the skeleton horses from the fantasy theme; I saw a picture of a skeletal Lego horse figure in trans clear in early 2004, and wondered whether or not it was a sham. It didn't appear the next year, or the next year, but in 2007 they were introduced in white an in black for the fantasy era skeletons! I believe we may be seeing a similar item here; something released a little ahead of the game. KD I can guarantee you your wish will come true, another western theme is waiting for the right time to emerge once we've been fed up with castles, pirates and mummies

They are two sides of the same coin, separated by a couple of hundred years they are Lego's permanent historic themes. Castle is more varied and has gone through more periods of exploration. It has tapped into fantasy elements, classic myths, and even attempted to emulate historically accurate castles and sets especially with the Kingdoms line. This is the biggest distinction as pirate sets are always a bit predictable; always a huge pirate ship, a few islands and the ever present imperial soldiers to oppose the plunder. I think both themes are excellent in terms of their minifigures and part selection, and very very useful for MOC'ing If I had to choose, I'd say castle, but I am biased as a fan of fantasy writing, movies and games. May they both continue to give us countless amazing figures, parts and accessories for years to come!

Oh good, the abduction mechanism is "clever", and that means a lot of tiny, useful parts! The only thing that still isn't clear is whether the new blue is exclusively for the suits, or if the vehicles are also getting overhauled in that color.

Wow, leave it up to Disney to give the biggest, baddest pirate of all times an old rusty sword! -
No problem, I don't have anything to exemplify this I've built myself but here is a picture from a brickshelf user called Rhox; Side Detail The detailing on the side is what I'm talking about, just a few bricks to break up the flat surface turns the side from ordinary to sweet. As far as the color, it's simply one option, and putting shingles on the roof might make a difference, like those round 1X1's you've started putting in already. Cheers

El Bricko MOC - Peoples choice award

Wow that's a lot of brown! It's huge which has a great appeal to me, but it's also so detailed I can't believe it looks as good as it does on that scale! The train is beautiful, the saloon/inn is great. (some bright candles huh? ) The best part is all the little wild west touches like the piles of barrels, supplies, wheels and the custom wagons. These folks did great -
Hello Legoman, It's really starting to look good with the stream, hill and cemetery in place! I think your interior is great and I wouldn't make major changes there. I have just two major suggestions for the design of the actual church and I give them as if this is my MOC and I was adding to it, so it's simply my taste: 1) I like the scale of it, but those walls are very tall and their texture is flat, if you make a simple addition of a few decorative bricks it will make a world of difference and add to the realistic look of the building. Consider stacking 1X1 bricks on top of each other until you have them reaching about 8-9 bricks tall and cap them off with a cheese slope, to create realistic exterior texture for the walls. Place them adjacent to the wall, with the slope facing in to look flush with the building, and place a bunch of them around the entire way. That's going to look great with your interior architecture. 2) The rest of the scene is very colorful but your church uses 2 major colors, plus the brown interior and windows, which kind of makes the color sink there, I would add another one, maybe a bit of dark red or dark blue just to break up the gray roof. I can't wait to see it finished, nature scene and all!

Oh man I wish they included more of the Dutchmans crew! The guy with the shell over his head looks sweet, and is a nice alternative to zombies at any rate. I noticed in the isla de muerta set we get the first ever bearded skeleton head, and also the first ever movie- Licensed skeleton, so that's sort of neat. I think Will has a new hair piece in all the sets he's in, very useful for hero building. It looks like there are two versions of Jack sparrow's headpiece; one with a hat, and one without, that's an interesting decision, unless the hat somehow attaches to the headpiece, but I doubt that. On a side note, have you noticed how that new bone piece has become a staple in these sets? Very very cannibalistic of LEGO -

I agree with you 100%, there were a few figures that were wanted more than anything else; namely the elf, spartan, zombie, rocker, that people had no way of making before their introduction as CM's. I think few people care to see a standing army of vikings, and although a lot of people built froces with the spartan, that figure just doesn't look all that impressive in a group. The Legionary will totally change that; if they include helmet, shield, and some type of lance or sword there won't be enough of these to go around! -

The day they release Legionary figures is the day the AFOL's kill each other bags in stores! Honestly it may be the most anticipated and wanted figure out there! (I have dim hopes that it will be in this series as one of the unannounced figures but it's not likely they'll exclude a cool figure like that from the cover art. -
That's totally nuts and irrational! I love it! I can't fathom what one could possibly do with so many pigs at one time, unless you're going to convert a room in your house to a medieval framing town, but one way or another this is more than impressive. How much did you spend on all those animals??

How did these get leaked so early! I love the dwarf, it's a dark and twisty version of the fantasy dwarves who were always a bit too happy for my liking. And this is coming at a great time; to think I was about to shell out $35 for a battle pack of dwarves on bricklink just an hour ago before I found this news out!! To think there are 7 more blows my mind, just these are enough to make the series worth buying! It's simply paradoxical how much excitement they generate with these pictures only to leave us hanging and without any way of finding them in stores later on. So no Roman soldier in this group of figures as well I suppose... Well the good thing is that there is a Roman gladiator which gives me hope they may make a Legionary one day, but I hope this doesn't replace it. But WOW 6 history/fantasy figures out of 9 shown! I like this trend! -

This wave of sets is following the trend started by last year's Kingdom's sets in terms of the time of release. Does anyone remember what Month we got the official pics of the sets last year??
