  1. I've been wishing for a Gotha bomber since 2001, but it seems unlikely since the theme takes place in mid 30's for us to see really big biplanes. I agree with you about the zeppelin however; if they follow through with the jungle theme, they might bring it in a s a set just like the old adventures line did. I noticed that unlike Atlantis this theme directly visited the "ultimate location" and if it took Atlantic 3 waves to get "King Poseidon" then it only took PQ one wave for us to get the pharaoh.
  2. Very nice again, first the car in minifigure scale, and now the trap in real size; very impressive.
  3. I agree it's blurry but I've been playing with the blurry image and an image of the castle side by side and if you bring the contrast up on the blurry image, you get to see where the lightest part of the scene is. I agree that the tower is in the same spot it would be on the King's castle set, but there is a big open sky were the main gate should be. This is way lighter than it would be if the bley tower was there. There isn't a hint of the red slopes that cap the tower battlements in the castle set, and yet red is clearly visible in the tower a few inches away which means the reds came out well, and it's not a matter of resolution.Instead it suggests the battlements aren't there in the set. The last mystery is the area in the bottom left corner; big open beige spots, which don't correlate at all with the King's castle box. Hmm, that is unless the bright spots are areas of glossy boxtop, reflecting light, in which case I may be wrong, but if you compare the set in the corner with the sets above, none of those reflect light in a way to distort the image on the box, so this is unlikely. The plot thickens... Any other images by any chance Darth Jar Jar?
  4. The reason people are upset is because a lot of the alternate plastic parts fit quite poorly in the hands of minifigures (case and point are the Kingdoms battle pack in which the figures had difficulty grippinf the weapons and accessories). The collectible minifigures look good, but they aren't as high-gloss as the normal ABS plastic, so there is a noticeable difference especially when you lay out unprinted parts next to regular Lego parts. (Just look at the legs piece in black, like the Gorilla in Series 3 and compare it with a regular set of black legs to see what I mean) I also have a lot of trouble posing the collectible minifigure hands as they don't like to rotate in a smooth 360 degrees fashion, and seem to jump and get stuck in certain position until you apply a lot of force. People worry about this because Lego has always been synonymous with quality, and for their plastic to be so poorly molded that it cannot fit other pieces is a nightmare. I must say, although I'm OK with a few printed parts like shields, headgear and masks to come in a little baggie and be "Chinese plastic", but if the entire figure and accessories are made of it, I do get upset, especially if we have no way of knowing in advance., (Kind of like in NinjaGo )
  5. I agree with you, but I would like to add my own speculation; that is the next wave will see our adventure friends travel to Greece, where they will battle mythical creatures. There are a few reasons why this may happen; namely the new Atlantic column piece, the hoplite helm, and the fact it hasn't been explored before and people have been begging for a "Greek" theme for years. I'd take a gander at "Olympus Quest" Also, ComputerBug, if they release a jungle or a tropical theme instead, I sure hope that is the direction they take it! I would love huge face masks!
  6. Wow! Some excellent detail! More pictures please!!
  7. Excellent castle and a very impressive collection of parts, I too wonder how many castle sets you own, or if this is a bricklink order, how many panels did you use on this?
  8. If the mystery set ends up being a big castle set that costs over 100 dollars this wave will have as many sets as the last one did, focused more on Dragon Knights however. Last wave we got: Castle Prison Outpost Prison Carriage Knight Showdown This wave we may get: (mystery set) Mill Prison King Carriage Blacksmith If only we get 2 more impulse sets!
  9. Still look at it on the positive side; if you want to build a vignette where your ninjas learned to use sniper rifles with laser scopes, well there you go!
  10. Personally I love it, I see why people want the leg to be attached etc. but when you look at this its an epic scene, with loads of exagerrated detail and emotion and that's what makes it great. I love the battlefield debris, some of the best I've seen!
  11. Very valid point, there isn't a theme out today that doesn't use them: there is gold in the Historic themes, Adventure themes and even some City themes, no to mention how much was used in the Licensed sets (PoP Harry potter etc.)
  12. Phenomenal job on the car, and the faces of the characters are simply the best match I've seen so far! Very nice work!
  13. Why oh why must they torture us this way! They release the sets in a catalog over which we drool for a month and now just as we think we know what to expect; BAM!! guess what! Another one! It's very possible it's a new one, after all we need a set in the $100+ range and the mill is too small for that. Here's hoping for a dragons leader!
  14. Technique, technique, technique! It's like a lesson in an art form! Wonderfully done, and very well thought-out!
  15. I don't see the reason behind the worry that these sets will be poor in parts; the PoP sets were some of the most interesting and useful part packs I bought least year. Don't let the prelim minifigures worry you; there will be tons of extras and useful accessories to come from this theme; mark my words.
  16. I am with you 110% I was hoping we would see 2 new subthemes in the castle theme; 1) the peasant village (And indeed we are! ) and 2) the forest-men faction return. In both of those cases I wanted either new farm animals or woodland animals. Personally I am ecstatic about the chickens and goats in the mill set, but would love to see some real wildlife like deer. Deer and other wildlife, ducks like you said, and also rabbits predatory birds, etc. If we keep on wishing it will happen, we just have to wish loud enough for the Lego Group to hear
  17. Dix - 2 points Kazeneko - 1 point kost u grlu - 2points Voted based on what is most likely to complete the sets that already exist and a train station and green house, especially ones executed as well as these deserve the vote! Good luck to all contestants!
  18. I absolutely love the cabin and the controls! That trans-blue cheese slope is a genius solution for an interface display! The rest of the vessel is just as smooth, very well done!
  19. I agree 100%, the scene is beautifully thought out but needs a bit more ambiance, other than that, very well done!
  20. Amen sir! I like what I'm hearing, definitely reassuring.
  21. No reason in particular, just an example of the design that might have inspired this. Now that I look at it, one of the alien soldiers has some pink tissue on the back of its head, very peculiar, I guess they have several levels of intellect and the more brain you have showing the smarter you are. (Considering the commander has his entire brain showing this is no surprise)
  22. I don't know if the revolver can have a binocular attached to it as the sight gets in the way, unless they're folding it backwards. I can see a HALO resemblance, and it certainly looks like the color could match but one could also make an argument that this theme was an inspired by: This set
  23. Very nice Buckshot! It's interesting to hear what people think. I don't play with it like I used to back in the day (when you'd have a storyline for your figures and go on adventures ) I build because I am good at getting an idea in my head and creating it with bricks. I love the imaginative aspect of building where it is as much about technique, aesthetic appeal and creativity as it is about fun. IDK, sometimes I get the feeling some people miss that finer point in Lego building; that it's not really a toy, it's in it's finest examples an art form and that is certainly very true when you look at some of the amazing creations people upload here on a daily basis.
  24. What picture are you looking at? Try as I must I can't seem to spot even a hint of this.
  25. Hey folks, after reading a few posts I realized that a lot of people are a little apprehensive about being above a certain age and going into stores to shop for Legos so I have a question I'd like to discuss; do you openly share your hobby with your family, friends the community etc? I am 21 and to be honest even though I stopped playing with Legos at around 15, I have always kept track of new sets, MOC's, reviews, and as of last year am back into it and more excited than ever. The only issue I have is that this hobby is really kind of a personal thing, and even though I don't think they would mind, I wouldn't share with my close friends and family because there's a certain amount of backlash and judgmental when you reveal that you're an adult and collecting and building, well... toys after all. I do find myself asking for gift receipts and saying things like "my little cousin loves these" when I buy multiples of sets at TRU. Anyways end of personal drama. How do you approach the hobby, do you share it, or keep it to yourself, and if you do share it, what have you found works at getting people to understand the Lego fascination?
