  1. Saw this on TBB. Really, really cool. But then again, I've really liked every MOC of yours that I've seen Nadroj. Great job.
  2. For me, it is definitely the classic European charm. I suppose I've always seen it to be such an admirable quality to me, even when I was a young fan.
  3. "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate." "So what's that make us?" "Absolutely nothing. Which is what you are about to become." Hilarious. Again, great MOC.
  4. Ah, so funny. I'm going to have to pop this movie in before bed tonight. Great job on this MOC, also.
  5. Wow this is really fantastic. As I was looking at the pictures initially, I was really wondering where those torsos came from. They look extremely professional. I'm very impressed with them, as well as the MOC as a whole. Great job!
  6. This is a pretty interesting topic, but it left me wondering if there was any easily accessible index anywhere of the animals that are in fact available in the assortment LEGO has released over the years. I just the other day saw that during my 15 years of dark age that they even released elephants. How cool! So, does anyone know of an index of these animals?
  7. Wow. I've got to say, for a mini, this set is actually pretty cool. Had it not been for this review, I'd not have known that either. I really think the features in it are surprisingly well done given the low piece count. Thanks so much for sharing this great review with us!
  8. No set for my member number. Maybe, as others in my shoes have stated, LEGO will grace us with a set in the future
  9. I thought we already knew you had to spend $100 to get it. So, if you consider that affordable, then yes.
  10. Everything in my collection now is new to me. I sold off all my childhood LEGO nearly 12 years ago. So it's all things I purchased or traded for in a years time. The date was when I went and bought my first set since selling off my LEGO and I figured this out by going back and checking my credit card for a Toys R Us purchase.
  11. I can only speak for Legoland California, and to describe it I would say that what they tout as one of the largest retail spaces for LEGO products in North America is nothing special at all. See, the problem is they do their best to keep it stocked, but they sell $100,000 worth of merchandise daily. So generally you are going to find only the NEWEST stuff there, and even then they do their best to keep the shelves stocked. Windsor might be a whole other story, given that Legoland California is the only Legoland park in the world that stays open year round. But to give you a good grasp of how hard it can be to shop there I can share the fact that I'm trying to find Clone Wars sets from 2008. The only thing they can keep stocked on the shelves there are the 2009 sets. Even sets from late 2008 are almost "too old" for them to maintain a consistent stock. Legoland California is getting worse, also, as we enter their peak season. Forget about getting your hands on a Clone Walker battle pack there, they're gone faster than they can be placed on the shelf. So, I hope to hear you have a good trip, and I'd be reasonably optimistic that Windsor might be a better scenario, but I'm not sure.
  12. I mentioned earlier that I have 794 minifigures. I actually have a little goal going where I want to have 1,000 by the time I hit my 1 year anniversary as an AFOL, which is coming up on May 13th. My other part of my goal was to have 100,000 pieces total in my collection, which I'm getting close to as well. It still means I have to spend a load of money, which brings us to the other popular General Discussion topic as of late... how much do you spend on LEGO per year?
  13. Hahahah, agreed.
  14. This is my first year as an AFOL, but I probably spent $5,000 USD, easily.
  15. According to my spreadsheet I own 794. I also have a bin of miscellaneous minifigure parts with perhaps enough to make an additional 25 (head, torso, and legs.) But the 794 are proper figures released in sets.
  16. Awesome. Thanks for letting me know. I knew it was the original dark gray, along with a lot of other elements I got that day. Strange to see it being dispensed in the PAB. Must be clearing out the cobwebs, so to speak.
  17. I bought about 40 of these picking through the LEGOLAND PAB and I only picked them up because of my tendency as a Classic Space kid to treat control panels as gold. Can anyone tell me what these are from? As soon as I saw them I started stuffing them into my bag. I tried to Bricklink it, but I couldn't find this part... I thought I'd throw it out to our brilliant community. It has to be a newer design. Sorry for the horrible quality, but I can't get to the camera without waking the family and my cell phone had to do. I'm sure someone more informed than I can employ it to useful means.
  18. It's tough to say. I've gotten ripped, and I've found treasure troves. LEGOLAND sells LEGO at $31.96 per pound. So even with regular pieces, you're going to win at that rate, provided they aren't chewed up or trashed.
  19. It's good to see the door pieces have returned. This fact was cemented for me when I was at LEGOLAND the other day and the had several of them in the PAB section. Exciting stuff for City builders.
  20. This is a very well done MOC. I love the details on the Stage Coach and all of the clever building techniques employed. The bison, also, is very well done. I think it's neat to see how well these Clone Wars minifigure heads can be employed in a MOC given the fact that there was a lot of distaste for them when they were initially released. I myself didn't like them, but I've found that they've really grown on me as time has gone on. Again, you've done a great job here as usual. I come to expect nothing less than excellent from your MOCs!
  21. Yeah. I see nothing as well. Might be a Firefox issue.
  22. Yeah, I absolutely have to side with LEGO here. From a legal perspective, it's pretty smart. It's not really a question of them not listening to their customers, because they obviously do (look at the Ambassador program).
  23. Tsk tsk. Don't steal! You can watch it for free on NBC.com. Great MOC, as always.
  24. My shelving in my LEGO room is from Ikea. It is from the Ivar system. With this, you buy the shelves, sides, and support backing individually and build the shelves in any shape or form you want. All told, mine cost about $190 to shelve this entire wall. They also have various stains you can put on them. It's a little more work, but it allows you to custom build the style of shelves, and given the slope of my wall this was necessary for me to do. I was also able to build a little desk section at the bottom of the far right shelving unit, which was a more expensive piece than the rest.
