I totally Conquer. A decent knife can do anything! -
Heya guys. Just got home from Riccarton farmers. They had nothing new there. However, I know one of the girls that works there and had a quick chat to her. They have just had a heap of lego come in and everything new should be out in the next few days. Also, there's not any real hurry - There's going to be 30% toys until the 7th or something So I'm not too worried. Once they're in, I'm thinking I'll get 3 Battle of Naboo's and a V-wing. That'll probably do me for the Janurary SW wave

Depends if you actully mean New mold. Because it will also go up if that part is also printed. It will also depend on the part size and theme (your probably refering to SW since this is the SW sub-forum). If it's simply a new standard part, then the price won't necessarily go up at all. However, If that part is say, a new head for a SW character, it could go up quite substantually. Because both A) It will have been very expencive to design B) It's probably printed C) It won't be used much - therefore won't recover it's cost over time, and D) It'd likely to be a licensed part, so lego will be having to pay Lucasfilm for rights to design that part. It will vary quite a lot, but thats one example. Unfortunately I don't (and most people wouldn't have a clue either) have exact amounts that they would add to a set. Hope that helps -
Did you even read what he said? Of corse he's not sure. I might try and get out today. Go to farmers to see if they have anything new 30% off

True, But 'officially' All non-glued magnet sets are to be gone by Jan 1st - in other words, there are still some Non-glued sets around for sale
-
It's a few more bucks that could be spent on even better lego

Wow, Lovely work here Rufus I checked out your other take on the scene too, and to be honest, I like the other one even more. If you were to use the other shot but photoshop out the reflection that would be an absolutely stunning shot. None the less, this photo is still top notch. Well done!

Cheers for the Review Kim. A shame you had to actully pay for this terrible set though. I honestly think this is one of the worst sets lego has ever released. And your good review only made my opinion a certainty Thanks for the review none the less, but this set really does nothing for me, And would be a complete waste of time and money were I even to consider buying it. Seems TLG must be getting pritty desperate if this is what they're coming up with for sets now

Prehaps it's only within the US? Thats not out of the question, knowing Lego.. Anyone out of the US ever won anything?

I picked up (NZ prices, keep in mind): 2x Battle of Alamut - $75 down from $180. I actully sold one of them for $150 the next day, so one came out free 3x Hoth 3 in 1 Pack (the one W/Wampa Cave) $92 for $175 of sets Then the best deal... 1x Titantive IV, $139 down from $350. But since I actully already have one I sold it the next day for $290 There's only one way to keep a Lego Hobby alive my friends... Also, This morning my new Go-Duster arrived. Not lego, I know. But It counts, because It's (apparently ) the best thing out to keep dust off displayed lego. It works pritty well so far Which I'm very happy with, since I got it 75% off Madoka, Have you considered employing someone to build all your sets that you buy? Seriously, you really are mad

I've entered this well over a hundred times and never heard back And I stopped entering about 6 months ago when I came to the conclusion I would never actully win anything from there
-
Really? Good stuff - The hunt is on... I'd better keep my eyes peeled now eh. If I can get the Battle of Naboo 30% off I'll be buying 4... At least! And a V-wing! Has anyone seen any New Star Wars anywhere?

As others have said, Magnet sets (along with pens, clocks, watches and all other 'gear') tend to just appear unexpectedly. Keep in mind, however, that all magnet sets will be glued next year, so most people won't even care when they do come out

Excellent review, thanks very much! This is probably the only set of the year my mind isn't made up on. There's something I like about it but the whole set just feels... wrong . After reading your very fine review, however, I now feel this set isn't worth it at all (dispite those nice fake hydraulics ). So I for one will be leaving this set on the shelf. I find it a real shame that this is the best lego could come up with for 'battle for geonosis' But that could be a good thing with the amount I'm spending on Lego these days But this was a great review - easy to follow, good pictures, clearly explained. Thanks heaps!

It's sad they've removed the good pics. It's quite hard to make out details with these other ones. I personally think the Ewok set looks incredible. It's got 2 new ewoks, and a decent amount of brown parts along with greenery, log's, and a catapault. Must buy a few!

I'll try get a decent pic of Endor up in a couple of days On hoth, It's not complete yet - I still need more white baseplates, but at the moment its a mixture of stacked plates and bricks around the crashed snowspeeder on top of the 2 white baseplates I do have Not much No, seriously, I do have a little bit of a life Hence I only just finished rebuilding the Death Star a few weeks ago (worst build ever - I had been Ignoring it ) Fair enough! Nice army's -
Ok thats weird - I was just thinking the exact same thing as I posted that shot. I have to try it now EDIT: Have taken a pile of shots trying differnt method's of a lava-ry backround, but haven't had any luck. This'll have to be my final entry Thanks I'm really enjoying this whole photography thing
-
Thanks! Thats exactly what I was looking for EDIT: here's another one (very similar, photoshopped the face to better show his emotion )

Ok guys, I've given up on using a UV light. It's very hard to get a sharp shot in UV light, so I'm playing around with other things. Here's one Idea I've had - Based just after Obi has left Ani for dead What do people think? I must admit. This shot was very inspired by Fenris' 'Sick of it all' Shot - Which is still one of my favourite shots ever Which probably (hopefully) came though in the shot

POP sets seem to be going cheap all around the world now. Over here in NZ I just picked up 2 Battle of Alamut's for almost 60% off ($75 down from $180)

True, But some of the pics in this thread are now a few years old, so you can't blame them Anyway, I just took some pics of my room (first pics since the earthquake) to update you all More pics in the Brickshelf folder That's what I've got displayed anyway -
This is great I really like this one (more than my own ) Good luck with the contest. A clever Idea and sharp picture
