  1. Seeing as I keep my 250 Odd Star wars sets built up, I'll keep them out of the equation for now. I think My MOCing parts collection is currently around 20,000, But I'd easily have well over 100,000 all totaled up I think thats quite reasonable really, But I'm sure my MOC parts base will increse as Star Wars sets continue to get more average, and as I get more into my MOCing
  2. Here's a clearer picture
  3. I would but it's missing Cody I've still got a Rex if your keen to trade though I'm watching that latter auction too... I'll sell you Cody If I win that one
  4. Wow those new wings are perfect... If lego doesn't release this soon I may just have to take some 'inspiration' Seriously incredible MOC Anio, You've done an incredible job To be honest I didn't really like the old wings so much, but this is seriously Edit: The more I look at it... I think the wings may be a bit wide? The hight is good but I think the width makes it look a tad out of scale? Great job none the less though
  5. Don't be insane mate, Lego's not that sad - It might include a new figure! IF these rumors are true, I really hope that the sets are half decent and not too CWy
  6. Agreed. This is quite possibly the most important release IMO. Its the most iconic Imperial fighter, we need it. A new System scale Tie in Grey wouldn't hurt either The majority of the lists I agree with. However The hoth sets mentioned are not really neccesary. The Wampa cave Really finished off that line, The rest is (and rightly so) Left to the MOCing ability of those who want a full scene. There wouldn't be a big enough demand for a set of 5000 2x4 White plates in the shape of sand dunes (although I wold consider it.. ) A new system MF is probably on it's way at some stage - Unfortunately. Hopefully it'll be a completely new/different design, that would be nice The 2 things I agree with most that you have said would have to be: Remake of Cantina, and Ewok Village Good Idea BTW. Hopefully this topic may get noticed by TLG
  7. Yeah, that guy has a few good auctions.. I generally tend to ignore things that small though Generally good deals either go for what they're worth or sell in minutes, so word probably wouldn't get around fast enough
  8. It would seem (at least to me) It's against TLG's Logic to release a y-wing so similar so soon? I'm skeptical of all of these rumors until we get a bit more of an official word from a reliable sorce...
  9. Today I picked up an somewhat Incomplete (But incredably cheap ) 7676 Republic gunship and a secound 7258 Wookie attack
  10. (<--- Click the smiley ) I'm quite happy with that
  11. Whoops I guess thats what happend what you don't follow a sub-theme (I had no idea what the number was, I just saw Flare had said 8081 so I presumed it was right ) Nevermind though. There's lots of suggestions around, along with some great advise. Good luck with finding a present
  12. Lot's of Good suggestions in this thread. My suggestion would be: 8038 Battle of Endor And Either of: 6212 X-wing 8081 Arc 170 Fighter (deside by checking if he's more into Original movies or Clone Wars) I think that totals around $150 (in the US) , and is a Start into the world of Star Wars lego
  13. I can't PM you either (not until you have 10 posts) But yeah I've seen it. Yours is it not? Yeah I'd be intrested but Its a bit much. If you saw the other auction, I stopped before $80 However, If your intrested in a trade then I might be keen
  14. I thought that too Man... Who is Maxxam?! Grrr.... I really wanted a secound one of them for my Kashyyyk.. (for a decent price..) It's a very nice set really... Much better than the recent one IMO
  15. I guess it's possible some stores may look at getting some in from their Aussie stores. I've heard of that happening before... Strangely enough
  16. You really Can't blame them I guess. It's not like the company's out to lose money.. Unfortunately
  17. Don't know what it's like up there, But POP sold out in days here in CHCH. Toy story is still a shelf wearmer at half price, but POP won't go much less than 50% I don't think. At $5 a pop, I don't want to know how fast the Army men would go
  18. Good thinking mate You could try that seeing as the promo is very open to interpretation
  19. Thats intresting. I guess they're finally realizing that to sell sets at a profit, they really need to be on sale for the 'hype' of a movie, and be sold out before a movie gets old. Just look at the sales that have happened to Indy, Toy story, POP... Movies get too old too fast, New Zealand moves stock too slow to make the most of these short movie themes. However, I had somewhat expected Harry Potter to be a bit more lucky, seeing as there's another movie coming out rather soon, and Happy Potter has become quite a classic. Intresting though, Thanks Nick However, intrestingly enough, I did see The Small $25 HP set and the Big HP train set at Toyworld today So they are scattered around a bit
  20. I wish I could have entered this, but I've been quite tied up with other things and, well, being lazy Lovely entries though. Voting will be hard, but fun
  21. Wow guys, some of you have totally mis-understood Fred67, Leave him alone until you know what he's talking about. Yes, the US does have the best prices on lego in the world. This is, however, irrelevant. He's never mentioned anything about that fact. He's simply pointing out the fact of blatantly misleading advertising. Which Is very fair, considering that their so called 'sale' is very misleading to the consumer Yes, the US does have good prices, but at the end of the day, everyone want's it cheaper if they can - It's human instinct to want to save your pennys. The fact is, The advertisement said BOGO50%off ALL lego. They could have said lego, then written the exclusions. But deliberately writing ALL lego in big letters is a bit far if they aren't going to tell you that there are exclusions until you look much ferther and far more carefully. If you don't understand, then leave it, he knows what he's talking about, you don't need to be harsh to him For the record, It is a blatently misleading advertisement, and this would be against the CGA and FTA (Consumer Garantee's Act, and Fair Trading Act, respectively) in New Zealand. I'm not sure what similar laws you have in the states, but if they hadn't said 'excluding ______' In the original advertisement, it's void. Either way, it's definately pritty sad of TRU to go that far And on the other topic of having to carry your bag in your hand, that's fairly common in a few places around the world, piticularly in shops were there isn't much space in a store, and also where fragile items are vaunrable. If you're wearing a bag and turn around in a small area, you may knock things off shelves. So it's really for your sake as much as it is theirs
  22. Wow... That's got to be a new low, even for TRU.. That said, I should say USTRU, Because I know in some places TRU is the single best place to shop for Lego... But yes. It's quite funny... However, terribly misleading and annoying for those of you in the US. Ah well, I guess thats what shops have to do to get customers in the door these days
  23. Farmers has 20% off all toys Tomorrow only too. They don't add up discounts, you just get the better deal. But that does make the winder toy shop $96, and the Wampa 3in1 pack $104.. Quite nice
  24. Haven't seen either of those for a few months now. They're still availible on trademe for around RRP, but I'd guess you don't want to be paying full price
