  1. I've received my S@H order today, 21104 Curiosity Rover and 21019 Eiffel Tower. And off course the Free Piece the Resistance
  2. My purchase will have to wait, my car decided that it needs some (unscheduled) maintenance.
  3. I can't find it on Eurobricks (yet?), but on Brickset.com huw and CapnRex101 are doing a review on The Simpsons house, reviewing it per bag as it seems. For those (including myself) who are still in doubt, go read it, it is an interesting read
  4. I, for one, am a collector. I don't have that much inspiration to build a MOC I really love to see what others can build out of Lego, but doing it self, that's a different story. So I just buy the sets I like, build them and (when running out of display space) store them separate in a plastic storage container. But I have never bought a set with the idea of storing it for a long time and then selling it. Lego is for me a hobby and as such I build the sets I buy.
  5. Ask yourself, do you consider the sets as an investment or was the 'comeback' related on the love of building sets... If it is the last, don't hesitate and start building them. In my opinion the fun in building the sets is worth (much!) more then the (extra) money a MISB set is worth.
  6. You're right, but a 2% difference in taxes does not explain a €20 (or €30) difference in the price tag We'll go to Oberhausen again in February, and undoubtedly visit the LegoStore when we're there, I'll make up my mind then.
  7. Still doubting whether I'll buy this. I like the house, but don't have that much going with the Simpsons. And why do we have a €20 markup to our German neighbors? It is not that far to the Legostore in Oberhausen...
  8. I agree on the pre-order fact, I'd be very happy if that was possible! But I don't have had any problems with deliveries or order processing and I do order a lot of stuff with S@H. Only my Parisian Restaurant took some extra time. I always order with standard shipping and even then I usually receive the items within 4-5 days... [ontopic]Nice touch, that extra floor! Although the building looks a bit 'thin' to me now...
  9. I've just finished the base floor. Wow. The level of details is just fantastic! This is most definitely in my top three of modular buildings! Credits to the reviewer, absolutely right in terms of details and building-joy
  10. I received my copy today, can't wait to start building Strangely, I didn't receive an e-mail from Lego that the set was shipped, so was a bit surprised when the mailman knocked on the door with the Parisian Restaurant. I ordered it on the 1st of January by the way. The set will most likely be placed next to Palace Cinema (which is in my opinion the worst modular yet), and accompanied on the other side with Market Street. Don't know yet. I'm fortunate to own all of the modular buildings, started collecting since the release of Cafe Corner...
  11. Not only in Australia, I can't open the site either... /edit: working again, with some glitches here and there.
  12. ah ok! I was wondering where that part of the discussion went... Maybe a link to this thread in the other discussion?
  13. Ah well... We'll see if Lego gives a formal statement in the coming days...
  14. No, I meant minimum staffing, but on the support/technical and marketing departments You're probably right on the sales departments, but I doubt if they can solve technical problems on the site or give a formal statement on these problems. That will probably be in the first week of 2014, when everyone comes back to work...
  15. I've ordered the set also, and also didn't get a confirmation. As stated before, there probably was a mistake in the order system. We'll have to see what happens, probably have to order again on January 1st. However, considering the excellent customer service Lego operates, I think that they will come with a statement of some sort. Don't forget, it is the holiday season with minimum staffing, and things tend to take longer. I'm not worried, it's not as if you're dealing with a shady webshop that exists only a couple of weeks
  16. I do hope so, but don't think that we - in the Netherlands - can order the Cusoo MSL on January 1st. It isn't listed on the Dutch part of the Lego shop site and we'll probably have to wait on that one, like we had to wait longer before the Cusoo Back to the Future set was available...
  17. Bought the 42009 today. Can't wait to start building!
  18. I know that Denmark is an expensive country, although the Netherlands aren't exactly cheap either. And having been to Sweden and Norway in our holiday, I was used to the higher prices. However, it still amazed me when they charged me 27 euro for 4 ice creams... I didn't know that about the extra charges for using a creditcard, I've never experienced such a thing. Not in Sweden, not in Norway, not even the Burger King in Denmark. So that surprised me a lot. I do agree with paul_delahaye, if it wasn't for Merlin, than the parks probably wouldn't be here at this moment. However, I would like it a lot more if Merlin would emphasize the 'Lego experience' instead of adding another roller coaster which I can find in any regular park. I'm visiting Legoland, not six flags! I'd rather have less attractions and a properly maintained miniland, then the other way around...And that's my feeling I'm trying to describe, it feels more like a standard park with some scattered Lego bricks than an real Lego experience and that disappoints me.
  19. I've just returned from a very nice, relaxing and comfortable vacation in Sweden and we've decided to drive back to Home via Denmark; to surprise our children with a visit to Legoland. It was not my first time; in 2003 and 2005 I've visited the park also and have some very good memories of both those visits! However, my visit on the 29th of July won't make such a mark in my memory. In my opinion it is very very obvious that 'some' commercial company specialized in theme parks came in and took over the park. Prices went up (and are very high if you ask me, even more if you decide to pay with credit card; they'll charge even extra for that). If you want to skip the queues, that's possible but also at a (steep) price, where other theme parks won't charge for that kind of service. Now I won't say anything bad about the attractions, they were good but also not very special and Lego related if you ask me. During the day all those things got me a bit irritated and that reached its maximum when we went to the part of the park that's the heart of the whole park; the Lego build cities, harbor and airport. It was old, some things didn't work, some where very weathered or damaged and (I've compared photos from 2003) for the most part things haven't changed one Lego brick! All things considered, I left the park disappointed and I'm not thinking about going back soon or even think about visiting another Lego park. Off course this is just my own personal opinion, but that got me thinking, I can't believe that Lego wants those kind of associations with the quality of the Lego-product or their brand as a whole. And out of curiosity, am I the only one with these kind of negative 'vibes' about the park?
  20. There is a B-model, as far as I know even mentioned in this thread. It contains a truck, container and container loader. Opinions about that model vary, some like it, some don't.
  21. Must be. I remember reading the review some time ago and vanishing the next day, including all traces in the forum. Luckily the internet remembers everything ;-) But besides that, nice review! Always a pleasure to read!

Yesterday I've put my signature on a contract which makes me the owner of an Alfa Romeo 159 SportWagon. Can't wait to pick it up this afternoon :)
  23. Thanks for the high res pics Grogall, can't wait to buy (and start building...) the crane..!
  24. Not exactly today, but last week I've bought and started building on 10232 Palace Cinema!
  25. Very curious about the rest of your review! I've started building mine (also arrived last week) yesterday evening, but will keep my opinion to myself until your review is finished...
