  1. The BIONICLE line has been affected as well - because of the conversion rates, LEGO has marked up all 2009 BIONICLE sets by $5. While this may not be a problem for the larger sets going from $40 to $45, the smallest $10 sets are now $15! 50% markup! I think it's never a good sign for shops when it's cheaper for people to buy LEGO products overseas and get them shipped over. That said, some of the other lines are relatively unaffected, and last year Toyworld and some other stores sold Town Plan sets for only $200 (US $130 when I bought one). ($270 on S@H )
  2. Good review considering the size of the set, but what is the third piece? Also, wow those instructions are a bad influence on children! First the scooter acrobats, then the town picture shows a cat climbing in a tree and a mouse jumping off the stairs with a spade!
  3. You and you're evil evil twisted mind. Although I do agree that it makes Skirmix look cooler.
  4. ?? Crack is not cool....
  5. Wow, this MOC has quite a lot of meaning. I'm not sure if you intended it, but you've made a nice contrast between the harsh rules of the camp and the obliviousness of the people on the other side of the wall, who don't know the kind of things that are happening in the prison.
  6. Yes, compared to a lot of other hobbies, LEGO collecting and use makes a lot more sense. LEGO allows you to be creative, express your opinion, appreciate other things and have fun while doing it, so how can that be an immature thing?
  7. Yay, our third Bink post! Congrats on the website Bink, it's very awesome, and I can't wait for the Arena game!
  8. Probably, as most of the inhabitants and buildings of Bara Magna where around before The Shattering, so things weren't completely rearranged. It's probably a key point that Greg's been using to twist his answers - we where referring and thinking about Planet Bara Magna, not region Bara Magna, which is why the answers aren't what we thought they should be.
  9. Isn't the jacket a courier jacket? IMO, this set would still be good without the police officer at all, although I agree that it would've been much better with a different minifig. There isn't exactly much to police in the set, so it would've been nicer to see another civilian minifig or a repair plumber for the fire hydrant instead.
  10. I was reading BiA 8 and 9 again to try and figure out some 2009 stuff. Greg is known for not putting too much unnecessary tidbits into the serials otherwise he may work himself into a catch, so I think a lot of these could be interpreted as references to future storyline. So here are a few ideas I'm throwing out. Please comment on them. On the plan to stop The Shattering: "I guess the Great Beings rejected their first few ideas, whatever it was," I think this is a reference to the difference in the real Universe and the SM Alt, in which the GBs rejected the idea of making Mata Nui as a solution to the EP War, and used the Toa powered Matoran instead. On Gali's canoe business and travels: "I hear she’s been as far south as the mountains, but not much past that. I don’t think there’s much beyond the peaks worth seeing." If this is on the original planet of Spherus Magna, then this suggests why GBs and Bara Magnians never saw each other, because of this mountain range dividing them. Possibly the Black Spike Mountains from this BIONICLE.com quote: "It’s not clear if anyone now lives in the heavily volcanic region beyond the Black Spike Mountains." On the GB's knowledge of SM: "They know this world better than anyone, from the Great Sea to the Northern Frost." Is the Great Sea now what is the EO planet? If it could be, then "the Northern Frost" could have been what is now the third BIONICLE planet on the map, yes?
  11. "There are xx known tribes of Agori" - That's got to be the worst typo of six I've seen in a while. So now we know that Bara Magna is the centre dot, and the EO is one of the smaller dots. I presume that we'll visit the last dot/planet in future BIONICLE years before we return to the MU. I just wonder what the last planet will be like? I'm presuming it would be either a fire or ice planet, as we've had water, air and rock settings in BIONICLE years so far, and an underground planet doesn't make sense, and the fire or ice element could easily be the third part of spherus magna that is missing.
  12. I like those two promos, although the second one is probably only good for an easy crystal and monster. That is, if the sets are easy to get in NZ. Which they won't be. I think it's interesting how promos like these are larger than impulse sets, but are often cheaper...
  13. As far as I can tell, it's a new piece. My Carapar amour doesn't fit on my Inika leg.
  14. Bunda - cite my topic for why your assumption is justified. (I know you'll be getting the proto back soon via Premiership, but you still need to clean your slate ) I think my theory is relevant enough, I just hope I don't get PDed for it...
  15. ...BTW, Vertea, I need your BZP username to give credit for the enhanced mystery MN picture. What is it?
  16. WTH? Without the spoiler summer set images, it is still a fair guess to say that the character is Mata Nui. The blurb of the Young Reader book that involves Toa Mata Nui talks about how Mata Nui lands deep in the desert, and it is confirmed that Mata Nui will be a 2009 set. We know Mata Nui makes himself a body, and we can heavily assume that he wants to keep a low profile, so he bases the body on the local inhabitants, the Vorox (because he is in the desert), hence the sand colour and Vorox weapons and spikes seen on the teaser. Taking all this, the mystery character is far out in the desert, and so is Mata Nui, who is also a mystery to the Glatorian and Agori. All in all, it is very justifiable to treat the mystery character as Mata Nui, because so many clues add up. To take away Proto from you demonstrates the short-sightedness of who-ever took it, in them assuming that you simply saw the leaked images and based your statement on that, making your post an attempt to restir the leaked image discussion problem. However, for the reasons above, you can clearly see that the statement of Mata Nui being the mystery character can be reached from the above facts. In fact, I'm going to go over to BZP now and post this theory to prove that Mata Nui is the Mystery Character without the use of spoilers. Really sorry for you Bunda.
  17. You'll need a few instruction pictures if there's a part of the module that can't be rebuilt from the pictures of the module that we already have. IMO you bakery is fine with the pictures we have already, unless there is someone something in the oven that we can't see.
  18. I'm pretty sure he does, I'll just go find it for you...
  19. PM him with a link to the picture here, because this one is obviously not a silhouette, but the previous picture was.
  20. VBBN, it's not that bad - refer back to your summer sets photo on your computer. The long legs in the map picture is just from the angle and includes the long part of the back of MN's foot. ... And a lot of the bottom leg is shadow as well.
  21. K so now I'm really confused with the head. *Runs of to find Ignika mask and find out how it could work...* ...Nevermind, the back of the mask is not Ignika like, so we has a new mold.
  22. Oh darn. Youtube is blocked from me. Could somebody be kind and download & upload the video so that I can download and watch it?
  23. The fissure action is ingenious as well! Congrats! As a suggestion to make it more aesthetic, what if you replaced the angled fissure parts and the hinge bricks with their 1 brick high counter parts?
  24. If you're going to have the trains running continuously, you could time and use a motor to flip the track switches periodically so that it allows trains to the inner level when the RC train will run over it, but not when the other to trains are passing by. Because the trains are always running at a constant speed, you should be able to time when to switch the tracks.
