Oh, I think I'll have to buy a few hundred of the 'army' set. LOL!
-
Yeah, that Funhouse set is number one on my "must buy" list for the Superheroes line. Not only does it look pretty cool and come with a nice selection of characters, it's the only Batman set that's not a rehash of the older line. REALLY looking forward to picking that up.

Your wish has been granted.

Chapter's in Canada is listing "Hogwarts Castle" for $64.95" and showing a pic of the full-sized castle, not the little 'add on'. Don't know if that's a typo but, it comes out to something like 63% off the Canadian list price.

I disagree that "Kingdoms had a good run". IMO, it was just starting to hit its stride and it was 'kneecapped' by LOTR. Yes, I'm excited about LOTR but, I wish Kingdoms could have been given the time to live up to its potential. There was soooooooooo much more that could have been/should have been done and I feel that now, the momentum is completely shot. Even if they "bring back" Kingdoms after LOTR is finished its run, it won't be the same. It'll most likely be "Kingdoms II", with as much a difference in 'feel' as there was between KKI and KKII (hopefully "Kingdoms II" wouldn't be so gawd-awfully horrible as KKII though). I mourn for Kingdoms. I was slow to warm to it, since I was still mourning the loss of 'fantasy era' Castle but, I soon came to love it a lot and I will most definitely miss it when it's gone, regardless of how cool the LOTR/Hobbit sets end up being.

Between LOTR, Superheroes, CMF series 6 & 7 (and the army building associated with both) and stocking up on Kingdoms, Alien Conquest and Pharaoh's Quest before they disappear, I'm going to be one broke Ogre! Damn! It's like LEGO had spy-cams peeping-in on my dreams! I certainly hope they have some KICK megablocks battle packs for LOTR! If they don't, they're CRAZY! Just imagine the kind of sales they would have if they released SEVERAL different battle packs, targeting each of the major factions. *swoon*

I'm at my local LEGO store A LOT (it's practically my second home these days)...and I pay attention to what people are saying and what they are buying. Regarding girls and LEGO, the most common statement I've heard asked is: "Where are the LEGO sets for GIRLS? This is all boy's stuff!" I've also noticed the pink "stereotype bucket" for girls FLYING OFF THE SHELVES there. In fact, I've regularly seen multiple shelves devoted to that bucket and they seem to empty almost as fast as the staff can fill them. Next most popular section that I've seen the girls gathering is next to Harry Potter. Not City, not Castle, not Star Wars, not Alien Conquest... Many girls feel 'left out' of LEGO and I think that this new "Friends" line is going to fix that. Personally, I think LEGO hit a home-run with this line and I'm really looking forward to seeing them hit the shelves. And I LIKE all of the colours! Adds some much needed diversity to my LEGO collection.

No Superheroes at Fairview. Heard rumour about Sherway...supposedly they have 'em but, aren't putting them out until Fairview gets theirs. Mastermind Toys is supposed to have them on the shelf/website today though, if you're that eager. LOTR LEGO sets! Totally stoked. Unfortunately, it means the death of Kingdoms. Total bummer. So much more could have been done with that line.

Very excited for LOTR sets but, very sad about losing Kingdoms in the process. I hope they don't butcher this license with 'strong minifigs in weak sets'. THAT would suck.
-
So sad for the loss of "Kingdoms". IMO, it hadn't even BEGUN to reach its potential. I AM excited about LOTR but, I really, really, really wish both lines could have lived 'side by side'.

The last two years, yes, the calendar has been harder to find later in the year...not HARD but, hardER. Prior to that though, I used to snag all of my advent calendars on S@H for 50% off on Boxing Day. They always seemed to have lots of them floating around. I think part of it has to do with LEGO starting to show the contents (at least SOME, anyway) on the covers. They didn't used to reveal what was inside and those years, I never had a problems finding my calendars late in the year, for a very cheap price.

Yup. Even "Kings Castle" is flying off shelves right now. Seems to be a fairly hot item for Christmas.

You showed incredible restraint. Had that been ME, I would have most likely grabbed as many as I could carry home.

It would be nice to have him with an un-scarred face, so he could be portrayed as 'Harvey Dent' and then have him 'transform' into 'Two-Face'.

Dude, that is SICK! Nice job! Personally, I like the way the mountains look. Nice, heavy-duty, imposing range. -
Lots of items with reduced prices at LEGO as of yesterday. Some as much as 50% off (tote bag, shoulder bag, towel, etc.).

Firsty-first...congrats to our Guild-leader on his "Fellow"ship! Hoo-rah! Secondly...Tafik Regex Marmota (NiceMarmot)- for "Master Cartographer" - AYE! Thirdly...I agree...names in sigs would work quite nicely. And...I don't remember what else I was going to say. LOL! -
Congrats to SI-mocs on his "Fellow"ship!

I was at the Fairview store again yesterday and I overheard one of the employees talking to a customer and something was mentioned about maybe having a chance to win a percentage off their purchase, or something like that. Anyone know what that's about? If it's the real deal, is it a large percentage, or just like 10%, or something? I need to know! (gotta plan those purchases, yanno)

I know that a lot of the sale stuff already online at lego.com is NOT available at the Fairview Mall store and I think that a lot of it isn't even in the Sherway store (PoP, etc.)...so, if you're looking for that stuff, 'online' is the way to go, IMO.

I was in disguise. -
I'm a little confused. Why do you need a US PO box for "Brick Friday"? LEGO has been running that promo for a couple of years now and I've always been able to order up here with no problem.
-
Sweet...too bad there aren't any Target stores in Canada, yet.
-
It's very simple...the LEGO would be MINEMINEMINEALLMINE!!!! I wouldn't think it would...'redeeming' indicates an active participant in the program, IMO and thus, a more attractive VIP member.

Checked these out at the Fairview Mall, Toronto LEGO store and I think they look pretty cool. They have the HQ, the Triceratops set and the T-Rex Hunter in display cases and they look pretty sweet.
