So nice to see one of my all-time favourite movies merged with my all-time favourite hobby. Nice job.

Really nice job on the display, BaW! Wasn't sure what to expect but, it looks great.

Exactly. Heck, they could have done the exact same printing, on a different coloured 'suit' and I would have been happy. Having the same fig in four sets is just lazy, IMO.

I fully agree. Thieves are becoming far more brazen in their attempts to rip-off our favourite hobby and I think new steps need to be taken to address this issue.

Minotaur, Evil Dwarf, Gladiator, Galaxy Patrol...

I've been noticing a lot of colour variation in items on the PAB wall at my local store. Brand new boxes of parts that have two, sometimes three, different shades inside. Most noticeable of these were the yellow 2x2 tiles. To the point of being ridiculous, really. It looked like two different 'official colours' got mixed, but, as far as I know, there aren't two shades of yellow that closely related (because there would be no need for it, really). It would seem that LEGO is getting away from its core value of "Only the best is good enough" and that's a real shame...especially when you consider how much the fans pay for their premium-quality bricks.

I don't have ONE favourite. From the major themes/groups: Star Wars ~ 10179 Millennium Falcon Castle ~ 6086 (with MMV coming in a close second) Town/City ~ 'Green Grocer' modular Space ~ Galaxy Explorer Pirates ~ Imperial Flagship Polybags ~ Target Practice

TRU here in Canada is horrible. I've ordered from them a few times and my sets come in these MASSIVELY OVERSIZED boxes...with NO packing material in them at all!?!?! Thankfully, I'm not one to worry about MISB most of the time but, at the time, I couldn't help but wonder about those folks who DO care about such things. It's shameful. Thankfully Shop @ Home packs things fairly well. I've never had any complaints regarding packages I've received from THEM (which isn't much of an issue now, anyway, since we've finally got B&M LEGO stores in my city).

*raises hand* BUT...only because it's the EXACT SAME zombie. I like variety. :P

Umm...buy new furniture. LOL

"Zombie Car" polybag as 'free gift with purchase of $75 or more' (Canadian) listed on the September calendar...and it's NOT the 'coffin car' polybag that we've seen pics of, though it IS the 'zombie driver' fig, as near as I can tell (haven't taken a really good look but, it seems the same).

Not in stock at LBR Fairview, sorry.

With the lack of any 'Castle' stuff that isn't LOTR, finding ANY out-of-production sets for a reasonable price is rather problematic.

I have to say, I never get tired of looking at nice army pics.

I really like all of the figures in this series, though I think the fairy could have been done better. My favourite for the poll though, is the Alien Queen. I'm a big fan of AC and this fig just made my day when it was revealed.

Nice set. Lots of cute little details. A VERY nice addition to the series, IMO. A definite 'must buy' for me. Surprisingly, I'm not even freaking about the price. It's in keeping with the VW camper in price, yet has more pieces (and I like it more...even though I think the VW is a great set). I have to admit though, I was fully expecting to see the CMF ice skates make an appearance this year. Perhaps next year...

[Review] 30201 Monster Fighters ghost polybag
Ogre replied to Lego Amaryl's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Any sightings of our spooky little friend anywhere in Canada yet? I'd REALLY like to be able to snag a few of these. -
I picked up the new Desert Skiff set (total price after VIP and taxes...$1.12!) and I have to say, it BLOWS AWAY the old model, BIG TIME! Seriously loving it and IMO, it's a great value for the price. Also has a few cool pieces for any Steampunkers out there. BTW...anybody in Toronto know if the TRU at Cedarbrae, or the one at VP & Lawrence is stocked with any of the polybags? I'd phone but, half the time the staff has no friggin' clue and I don't feel like spending 45 mins on the phone with them.

I finally snagged my "Swamp Creature" set, to go with the werewolf that I already had. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to get all of these, even if just for the awesome minifigs and parts.
-
Sorry for the late reply...that was with a brand new cup.
-
Best I've managed so far is 29 but, in all honesty, that wasn't trying all that hard, either.
-
Sounds like a promo set..."Monster Fighters Direct To Consumer Gift With Purchase"? (I'm totally guessing but, it fits)

Fairview updated their PAB wall the other day and have some new stuff in back, too. 1x4 pink bricks, 2x2 round bricks in trans light blue and trans light (lime?) green...red 'gem stone' pieces are in the BAM bar, too. They also seem to have all the new SW sets in, as well. I have to say, that Jabba's Palace set looks even better in person, than it did in pics. I think I'll have to see about snagging that one!

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Ogre replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just got around to checking out the close-up shots...a shame about the 'pink' fur on Santa's coat. -
Pfft. Dude, I was born in '69. Talk about feeling old! LOL Reading this thread is making me feel ANCIENT.
