Three different axles, small rims and tires, lots of basic bricks with a good selection of brown, tan, orange, green and blue (though a pile of AFOLs on Sat. were stacking cups with the light blue like there was no tomorrow. LOL). Some nice tan plates, too. Not a lot of smaller bricks & plates though. Oh, dark bley corner bricks, too. Always nice for castle builders. Oh, they have BrickJournal #15 (Mecha edition) in stock, too. At the back next to the CMFs. Everybody seen the new brick separator that's supposed to come out soon? Will be included in the 'micro modulars' set, according to Toys N Bricks. Looks cool.

I was blown away by the level of detail packed into this set when I built it this past week. Just stunned. I'm not even a VW fan and I would recommend this set to ANYONE. It's fantastic! There are specs on the box for overall size of the model. IIRC, the camper is almost a foot long. Builds up into a very impressive model.

AWESOME set! Built this on Tuesday and I have to say, I was blown away by how great it was...and I'm not even a VW fan!

How about a theme based on Halloween/Horror?
Ogre replied to bsmith13's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Might be a bit much to hope for an entire theme based on halloween/horror but, a few seasonal sets would be nice. I've been tossing that out there every year for quite some time now. TLG could release a really KICKIN' "Haunted House" set, especially with their current crop of 'monster' figs. Of course, they don't have the cool "glow in the dark" ghost anymore but, the other figs are (IMO) much better versions than the old 'Studios' monsters. -
Heard about this product via a newsletter from 'Lasting Toys' in Mississauga, Ontario. Checked out the website and took a look at their 'zombie' mod pack. I can't recall who it is on EB that wants to make an 'Axe Cop' minifig but, you REALLY SHOULD check out this product...ESPECIALLY the 'zombie' pack. BrickStix mod packs *edit* Oops. I mis-labelled the link...it takes you directly to the zombie mod pack.

Yeah, that caught MY eye, too. That and the "BrickStix". They look kind of cool.

Oh yeah, it was SUCH a loss for you. I mean, after all, you were only at LEGO HEADQUARTERS at the time!!!! Lucky friggin' so-and-so...
-
*shrug* Maybe "so-and-so" gets an employee discount, or something?
-
Cool! When I first read your name, my first thought was "That sounds like something out of D&D."

Yeah, I'm not surprised at the 'basic' selection. That's fairly typical for a new store, isn't it? So long as there's lots of tan, brown, green and bley, I'm happy. LOL

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion

A great big fat friggin' "DITTO!" on that from me. -
Fairview Mall LEGO store 'soft' opening: Thursday, September 29/11.

No kidding!

Castle buckets, spaceship buckets (various greys, etc.) and landscape buckets (browns, tans and greens)

Exactly why I won't buy the POTC 'battle pack'. It's not a BATTLE PACK, it's a 'collectable minifigure pack' for folks who don't want to buy the sets, IMO.

"The Padawan Menace" DVD is available exclusively at Walmart. Price is something like $12.83, or something like that. Limited quantities. Includes minifig.

Big medieval landscape: BIG UPDATE on page 26
Ogre replied to maydayartist's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Nice fix for the windows. Beautiful trees, too! The whole scene is coming together so nicely, it's leaving me on the edge of my seat wanting to see more, more, more! -
I loved those monorail sets...but, couldn't afford them. The price tag was pretty steep and I couldn't even swing one as a Christmas present due to the price.

Great-looking figs and a very cool concept!

Looks good. So, you had to build the actual 'shelving' inside, yes?

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 discussion
Ogre replied to eiker86's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've completed series four but, like yourself, have yet to purchase even ONE series five. I will though. It's a really nice series. -
Kingdoms is 20% off this weekend at TRU Canada. Brings the "Escape from Dragons Prison" set down to $20CDN. Not bad...
-
Only the typical TRU sales of 20-25% off (it's 20% off this weekend, here in Canada). No 'big price slash' yet. Of course, we don't typically get those up here anyway. That's more something that happens in the US and the UK. Lucky buggers.

Picked up two of each of the pyramid and Sphinx when they were on sale at TRU a couple of weeks back and finally got around to building them this weekend. I have now completed my PQ collection of building sets, with multiples of everything except the cobra, scarab and battle pack...though I WILL get extra scarabs if they go on a decent price reduction. Also augmented with the pilot, explorer and pharaoh CMFs. I've really enjoyed this theme and it's a shame that it seems to be ending. Would have been nice to extend it just a bit...perhaps with the Pharaoh's wife? A temple? Some other Egyptian dieties? A river barge? Some crocodiles? *sigh* Alas, 'tis but a dream...

So, on November 23 I posted on this thread that I "wasn't sure" if I was going to pick up this set. Well, I did...a couple of weeks ago when TRU had them on sale for 25% off. Turns out, I really enjoyed the set and the build. Couple of minor annoyances: 1) folded/crunched instruction sheets...they REALLY need to do something about that! 2) folded/crunched/PEELED OFF stickers...one was stuck to an instruction book! C'mon! 3) something seemed "off" about the half-track...but, I had picked up TWO pyramids, so...I added an extra set of wheels between the two existing sets. A very quick and easy fix that, IMO, improves the whole look of the vehicle. And yes, I still LOVE those Anubis warriors and I still want LEGO to make an Anubis battle pack!
