LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion
Ogre replied to whung's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I just hope they wait until my wallet actually has something IN IT before they release series 7. LOL! This year is barely started and my LEGO budget has already taken a pounding. Sheesh. -
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan! If there was a stockpile of those sets around HERE for $50, I would be all over that, like white on rice! It's an awesome set, with fantastic figures and, speaking as a fan of PQ, I'm VERY sad to see the line ending. It got zip in the line of respect from LEGO fans overall and it languished on the shelves, overshadowed by the highly-marketed lines of Ninjago and Star Wars. Now, I'm not saying that there is anything WRONG with THOSE lines...I just think it's a shame that PQ (and Alien Conquest for that matter) didn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of "making it" without any real press to back them up.

I'm rather surprised that nobody has mentioned the non-minifig posing of Legolas' arms...

Thank you. Much appreciated.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Ogre replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I completed my 'for display' collection with 100% accuracy via 'groping'. I've found that the minotaur is the easiest to find, due to his huge head. The 'giveaway' for Lady Liberty is the 1x2 tile, since it easily slides down to the corner of the bag and is super-easy to feel. Personal fave fig at this point is the bandit. Totally lovin' on his print, the dark red bandana and the black pistols. -
According to Toys N Bricks, Zeller's (Canada) will be selling LEGO games at 50% off this week.
-
Anybody notice if their local Canadian Wal-Mart stores still have #5512, the "XXL Box" still in stock? And if so, is it still selling for $40CDN?
-
I agree. I think the 'living statues' in PQ were great and one of the selling points for the theme. Agree. For some things, I just want moulded...especially if the other animals around are already moulded. It's one of the reasons that I prefer the new chickens from MVR etc., from Kingdoms, over the birds in MMV. Those Halloween spiders made for great 'parts packs' though, when they went on sale for 75% off! *g*

Wow. Okay, that is SO weird. I JUST came into the forum to see if I could find any info on this very subject and...*boom*...there is was, posted mere moments before. LOL Massive congrats to Erudhalion / Gabe! That is incredibly cool. -
Will be buying for the minifigs (very happy about the return of GID ghost) and using the rest of the sets for parts.
-
Looks great on its own...not so much so next to the other buildings. Sooooo, I'll just have to buy two, MOD it a bit so that it looks 'proper' sitting by itself in the centre of town.

Regarding B&N: I wouldn't get TOO excited about being able to pre-order these sets. Folks over in the Pirate forum did a lot of pre-ordering for POTC and all of their pre-orders got cancelled, with no explanation given. Personally, I'd wait and score them on sale at TRU, Target, Walmart, or whatever brick and mortar store you shop in. Or, at least wait until B&N has them IN STOCK and then pick them up when they have one of their 30% off coupons available. JMO. <~~HEEEEEEEEEEEEY!!! Cool chrome 'Bull' shield icon!

Quoted from the original email sent to me (any emphasis shown is from me, not TLG) Dear Ogre, We know how much our LEGO® fans love their minifigures! That's why we're giving your little VIPs the chance to tell us their number one character from the LEGO Minifigure Series 1 - 3. Simply click on their preferred minifigure below to register your vote. We will then turn the most popular characters into an exclusive LEGO Minifigure set, only available to LEGO VIPs!* Choose wisely, you only get to vote once! Voting closes July 30. *snip photos of all available minifigs to vote on* *Voting closes on 30 July 2011 and is restricted to one vote per registered VIP Member. The top 5 minifigures will be announced in the November email newsletter and the set will be exclusively available to VIP Members to purchase in 2012, and at this time terms will be announced. The sets will be available for as long as supplies last. Please be aware that while every best effort will be made to exactly replicate the minifigures from the series range, if the winning minifigures contain parts no longer in production, we will look to find the closest looking pieces as a replacement part, and if no suitable replacement parts are readily available, we will substitute the minifigure(s) in question with runners-up.

Late on this but, Fairview just got a shipment of them today...as well as all others EXCEPT "Funhouse".
-
Utter crap. One good fig, one 'okay' fig and three "Hey, we've got too many of these left over, so let's pawn them off and pretend they're something special" figs.
-
Fairview Mall LEGO store (Toronto, Canada) has all AC sets on at least 10% off...except the Mothership and Battle Pack. Odd. Why all the others and not those two as well?
-
Yes...though I try to ignore them. LOL I know, their pricing is even worse ($9.99 for one crappy vehicle) but, since I don't collect THOSE, I'm not quite as offended by the pricing.
-
City "Fire ATV" set. 50 pieces. One minifig, one small vehicle. $7.99 CDN. Rip. Off.
-
I had the same thought as soon as I saw that pic.

Says "Castle", not "Kingdoms". I'm guessing that merely means that MMV will not be discontinued, or some such thing. I doubt there will be a second "Castle" theme competing against LOTR.

Was at Fairview on Christmas Eve day and there wasn't even a spot on the wall for superheroes. Got thoroughly cleaned out, I guess. LOL Thankfully, I had already picked up my Funhouse, Lex, Catwoman and "Build-A-Bat" sets when they first hit the store. Will probably still pick up the Batmobile and Batwing, too. Don't know about the Joker and Green Lantern constraction sets though. I AM a completist but, I'm just not thrilled with those sets. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
