  1. I think that one is even more accurate. LOL!
  2. 6x Kingdoms "Knights Showdown"

    Canadian Eh?

Speaking of Walmart... Swung through their LEGO section yesterday, just to see what they had (only 'new' that I saw was green Ninjago project case...kinda cool)...saw a bunch of watches on the shelves, which I thought was odd, because most places that I've seen them (mostly TRU), they've been in the electronics area, or behind glass (or both). Anyway, I took a look at the Star Wars watches and wouldn't you know it...every single one had been opened and had the minifig stripped out. I tracked down somebody who worked there, handed her the boxes and showed her what was missing. Her response? "What else is new?"

No worries. You're not the only one that it's happened to. Example: *I* just ASSUMED you were talking about LBR stores, or S@H...didn't even cross my mind that it might be TRU, or elsewhere until after I posted, so I had to go back and edit.
  5. Saw this set "up close and personal" and I have to say, the 'glass' in the windows was TERRIBLE! The mold release marks made it look like all the windows had been shot. There was the 'attachment point' or 'injection point' or whatever, plus a foggy 'halo' around the mark. Just HIDEOUS looking! I'll wait on buying this until that little flaw works its way through the manufacturing process.

    Ahh, okay. Thank you.

Huh? Where'd you see that? I was just on lego.com and didn't see anything. The only SW promotions *I* know of is the free C-3PO key chain with $35 SW purchase on the 2nd and 3rd, as well as the SW poster off from March 1-31. Purchase of $50 worth of SW gets you 30% off the Royal Guard magnet set, too. I've seen no mention of the polybag as a 'gift with purchase'...though it's the 'free gift' for the Club meetings this month. Or is this perhaps a promotion from TRU, or some other retailer?

I avoid buying LEGO from Walmart due to an encounter much like yours. (I may have even posted about it here back when it happened) With mine though, it was a Knights Showdown set from Kingdoms and the box had been VERY CAREFULLY cut open, then sealed again with double-sided tape, after 95% of the parts had been swiped, leaving just enough stuff to give that tell-tale "LEGO jingle" when you shake the box. Thieves suck!
  9. I don't care what theme it's for, so long as it comes out THIS YEAR and (the most important point) I can afford it. LOL It looks exactly like the sort of thing I've hoped for years that LEGO would release. If they also toss out a really cool graveyard to park next to it (sort of like the one from Harry Potter, but cooler), I would be over the moon! Halloween is looking good this year!
  10. I wouldn't bet on it. Supplies are shrinking fast.
  11. I'm guessing that LEGO would prefer the latter over the former. LOL Personally, I'm thrilled with what we've seen so far. It's far more than I expected and probably at least equal to what I had hoped for.
  12. I was hoping they'd have rose-coloured lenses.
  13. I think that the point of the other post was that this is a thread on SERIES SEVEN minifigs, not SERIES SIX. Might want to consider posting your info on THAT thread, instead of THIS ONE so that the information gets to the right people.
  14. Pfft. Us old farts do pretty well, too. All it takes is patience and practice. I'm 43 and have a 100% accuracy rate 'groping' the bags. The key is to know what you're feeling...visualize the part as you're feeling it...and take your time. Everybody I know who has "messed it up" did so by rushing the grope.
  15. Keep in mind...the spear is FAR longer than any of the bars that come in those packs you mentioned. If you think you've found one, just check the length...if it's a wee short little thing, it's not the Roman. If it's almost as long as the pack is wide, you've got yourself a Roman.
  16. !!!!!!!! Oh, wow! Seriously, if all those were to make it into LEGO sets, I would be one SERIOUSLY HAPPY Ogre! Especially that "giant body" that he designed (second link)! (and did you see his 'fantasy castle' stuff? *swoon*)
  17. I only managed to snag 10 Alien Strikers and I would have liked to snag 10 more! IMO, Alien Conquest was a really great theme and I'll be sad to see it go. Totally under-rated and under-appreciated by most!
  18. I like the new monsters (I'm in favour of any monster minifigs really, so long as they aren't cartoonish), the highly detailed prints, the 'damaged heroes', etc. I think the sets themselves look a little weak but, that's what MOCing and MODing is all about. I'd rather LEGO make KILLER minifigs and maybe lose a bit on the detail of the sets, then to have highly detailed sets with lack-lustre minifigs, because it's a lot easier for me to add detail to buildings, cars, etc., then it is for me to 'correct' a minifig. I also like the fact that my favourite themes these last few years have all been 'in-house' creations by LEGO, rather than licensed themes. Kingdoms, Pharaoh's Quest, Alien Conquest, Monster Fighters all rock, IMO (though I AM excited about LOTR, too).
  19. Easiest way to locate Lady Liberty is actually via her 1x2 tile. It slides down into the corner of the pouch very easily and she's the only figure with one. In addition, she has the soft rubber hair/spiked tiara.
  20. Logan Alexander Redlake (aka "The Stone Ogre") is set and ready. Been pretty dang quiet down here in the Southlands lately and too much 'peace, love and happiness' makes mah teeth itch.
  21. Only if they improve the quality of the figs.
  22. Very nice, Kayne! Wow. It's really come a long way since your previous WIP shots. Nice job!
  23. Yesterday was my birthday and I got quite a surprise. Wasn't expecting anything other than a 'happy birthday' and a meal from my wife, but instead, I got a Tower Bridge, the two 'free giveaway' LEGO Christmas sets and a City Advent calendar (in addition to the previously mentioned AT-AT that I bought myself the day before). I also got a $50 gift certificate from a good friend and, the shocker of all friggin' shockers and the most unexpected birthday present of them all...#7666 Hoth Rebel Base!!!!! *thud* Best birthday since 2000! Awesome. Just simply AWESOME!
  24. Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys! Was the best birthday I've had since 2000! :)

  25. I suppose there was a TOUCH of sarcasm. LOL I just thought it humourous that the colour of his ear, etc., was being discussed, but the unnatural pose was not.
