  1. As much as I love this entire line, this set is my "must-have-to-die-for-buy-as-soon-as-possible" favourite. I've been asking for a set like this for years on the LEGO message boards and my dreams have finally been answered. The only thing that would have made it better, would have been an attached graveyard but, I'm not going to be THAT picky. LOL!
  2. Though I like being able to see the figures and all that, I'm surprised that LEGO took this particular packaging route with this set and the new Ninjago card shrine. I thought that REDUCING packaging was all the rage these days? Anyway, aside from that...I do like this set and I think it's a good assortment of figures and cute extras...but, that price tag ($15.49 here in Canada) is wicked steep, IMO. I know it's the same price as the new VIP CMF set (five figs) and the City Accessory Pack (four figs and a burning bush) but, I think those are overpriced, too, though the VIP set comes closest to the best value, considering it's just over $3 per fig and those figs sold at retail for $2.99CDN when they came out. I may still pick one of these up though, if the price drops a bit...
  3. Not only that but, you can purchase the "business man in pinstripe suit", complete with briefcase and gold pen in pocket in the Alien Conquest battle pack, which is currently available in LEGO stores for 50% off it's original price. Hardly worth it for LEGO to include basically the exact same figure in the CMF line. On another note: as far as 'Santa' goes...yeah, I could see that...with Gandalf's beard in white. I kind of expected a 'blue' boxer though, especially since LEGO made the blue gloves and headgear for the new GB Olympic CMFs.

    Canadian Eh?

I'm assuming you're talking about the Fairview store? There's also 2x2 red tiles, larger wheels and 'narrow' tires (need two tires per wheel with those...hopefully will have the proper size tires, soon), light grey click hinges (male and female sides) and a few other bits and bobs.
  5. Meh. It's okay but, nothing to get too excited about, IMO.
  6. Don't see why not. I still have my ghost and vampire key chains from the last time LEGO churned them out.
  7. I never checked until this conversation: my Queens and helmet horns are glued on my Vikings. I'd rather they WEREN'T but, it's not a big deal. Also...just a reminder for folks complaining about the wizard instead of a Dragon 'king'...keep in mind that the wizard IS the leader of the Dragon faction, according to LEGO's storyline...hence, he's the 'king'.
  8. At least two for me, also.
  9. Picked up two more 'Galaxy Patrol' figs to make a grand total of 16 (3x 5-man squads + 1 for display). I think that's enough for now. Going to have to start saving for a couple of those Kingdoms Chess sets.
  10. Looks like an old-style skeleton in the Vampire Castle set!
  11. Yeah, that's a pretty sure bet. LOL
  12. Looks like a standard vacuum-molded plastic for the base. I like it, simply because it's better than the plain old checkered board from previous chess sets. Though, from my very quick look at the pics, it didn't look like we're getting the old style of carrying case to go with it, which is a bit of a shame. I'll probably get at least two. *g*
  13. Maybe 'dying', but not yet 'dead'.
  14. If we don't get to see some 'overview' shots of this masterpiece soon, I think I'm going to cry.
  15. Absolutey agree! Never got a chance to snag 6086 but, it still ranks right up there with the Classic Space "Galaxy Explorer" set at the top of my "want to buy someday" list.
  16. Pssst! Don't say "good-bye" just yet.
  17. Agreed! I'm betting we'll see a lot of 'ghost army' MOCs down the road, too. LOL
  18. This theme was a real slow seller in my neck of the woods. Anytime I was at my local LEGO store, if the kids were looking at something 'space', it was always Star Wars. I'd talk-up AC but, very few seemed interested. Of course, that lack of interest was WIPED OUT when AC went on sale for 50% off before Easter! I'm glad I was in there on the morning of 'day one', because there was SQUAT left on 'day two'...pretty much just Motherships. Folks don't seem to care WHAT LEGO they buy when it's 50% off! LOL I managed to complete my series but, I'd still love to pick up some more battle packs and Alien Strikers. Would love to see a second wave of AC but, I just don't see it happening. Not unless it sold a lot better elsewhere than it did in MY area.

    Canadian Eh?

Not supposed to be released before May 1, but Mastermind Toys in Toronto has them available on their website (according to their Facebook page) and they'll "be in all stores by April 24!". BTW folks...Fairview LEGO store still carries that "Canada" keychain...saw some there on Wednesday.

    Canadian Eh?

Limit is being increased to $200 and $800 for 48 hours...problem is, I don't know WHEN that is going to happen.

OUCH! Stories like that bring a tear to the eye.
  22. 23. Thank you for yet another wonderful CMF review, WhiteFang! Though I was already stoked about this series and knew which figures I wanted multiples of, your review, with nicely detailed pictures, provided a number of nice surprises (classic space logo on GP figure!), as well as being able to finally see previously hidden details (boar design on Evil Knight's shield). I look forward to you "knocking it out of the park" again as the release of series 8 approaches.
  24. Not that I can recall. Of course, I've been buying LEGO for a loooooooong time, so I may have forgotten something but, I really don't think so. As a kid, my allowance was mine to do with as I pleased, so no 'parental flack' in that regard and as far as gf/wife forbidding me...umm...I'm an ADULT...nobody "forbids" me to do anything. An ex-gf used to give me crap for "wasting" my money on LEGO...note the "ex" part of that statement. Now, not to say that my wife is "thrilled to death" with my hobby but, she knows that as far as 'vices' go, it's quite tame and I don't spend NEARLY as much on it as I could, so, she tends to keep her complaints to herself...which as few anyway, since she likes seeing what I create. Two words: LEGO Games! *g* I used to be a "multiple collection" guy, too...LEGO, comic books, Warhammer (and 40K), 12" action figures (GI Joe, Ultimate Soldier, Dragon...), movies, music, books, etc., etc... It was getting out of hand. Now, I limit myself to LEGO, books by only a small handful of authors, CDs by certain bands, certain genres of movies and that's pretty much it. My wife has always been pretty supportive of my hobbies, though I do get the occasional "another one?!" but, it's fairly rare.
