Twice a year, thousands of fish run up the Isca River near the village of Circardia to their spanning grounds into the streams that feed the mighty Isca. Corlinda, her husband, Turmus, and his brother, Partus, have been fishing below the falls of one of these streams for years. Partus sets a net across the stream to catch the fish as Turmus carries the recent catch to the table where Corlinda prepares the fish for the smoker. By smoking the fish they are able to preserve the enough smoke fish to supply most the of Circardia and make a modest living . Today, Lord Arlindus visits the camp to place an order for his upcoming feast. Partus setting the net Lord Arlindus greets Turmus as he carries the fish to his wife, Corlinda. Corlinda prepares the fish for the smoker (behind Lord Arlindus) Many fish still avoid the net to "jump" the falls to their spawnning grounds. Thanks for looking, my tower is nearly finished as well and I have started my Albion build as well. Come on US Postal Service with my Bricklink order!

Thanks for the replies everyone. @Pizinho, I haven't seen American Horror Story so any similarities are a coincidence. I guess Ill have to check it out now! Also meant to put in the original post that I didn't intentionally maim the Ogre, my dog decided it looked like a chew toy, hence the puncture mark on the torso (you can see it clearly in the second photo.)

nice, I like the scene but I am partial to lifestyle scenes anyhow. I too am working on a fisherman project (mine is more of a fishing camp) and have 80% finished mine. once again fine job

Here is my entry to the Champion of Avalonia mini-build as Lord Arlindus, Captain of Circardia and the Phoenix Guard takes on an Ogre! More photos and back story in this thread http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=63225 -
Along the road near Circardia, evil is afoot! An vile ogre has been terrorizing travelers, raiding local farmer and killing unsuspecting adventurers. Lord Arlindus, Captain of Circardia and the Phoenix Guard tracked the Ogre down to its lair and laid his trap. Unable to resist the urge of a free meal; the Ogre ventured from its cave as Arlindus waited to spring his ambush. With his Circardian Pike, Lord Arlindus thrust the weapon between the beast's skull and spine with predictable results! The citizens of Circardia rejoiced with the great service Lord Arlindus has rendered! As always, feed back welcome. Mikey

I would like to sign up for spot #46 -The armorer. Is there a deadline on this project? I might need a couple weeks to finish this one. (and another bricklink order!)

Great job on the map and the hard work it must be to keep up with all of this. If it helps, here is area I have envisioned for Circardia. The Eastern border is the Isca River, a wide, fast moving river. Along the northern border is a river similar to Isca, the LLeyln River. Along the south is the high cliffs looking over Orthus Bay. Of course the Western border is very wild, heavily forested and largely unknown. According to the guess that it is 50 miles between tower 14 and 18 (in this post http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=62881&view=findpost&p=1130616 ) It looks like the Isca River is slightly more than 20 miles long and the whole strip of land is about between 5 to 10 miles wide. Of course, if any of these features are already named or if my scale is off adjust it as you see fit. on a side note, thanks to all for starting the Guild project. It pulled me from long time lurker to poster. I have enjoyed building and have a long list of ideas! Sadly, in a few builds I will have to either take out a loan for my bricklink purchases or dismantle some of the projects!. -

no I think your correct your claim is the black circle near the river inlet correct? If so that is inside Avalonia. I don't think anyone has claimed it yet As for WIP, the only guidance I have seen are is for the tower challenge. Post WIP on your tower here. If your looking for feedback on a guild task or other build, I would post them here as well and then create a MOC topic when you think it is pretty much completed. (someone let me know if I'm off base.) Also post you SigFig and your army here as well. -

Also refer to the first post in this thread as Defrel Cardarn has been hard at work trying to keep things in order Welcome to Avalonia! -

Welcome Varis (and rougeang!) I Arlindus, Captain of Circardia and the Phoenix Guard (number 5 on the map), welcome our neighbors. We look forward to a fruitful and long relationship with the Rustling Leaves Clan. We offer some of the finest meads and honey, fine meats and fish, excellent craftsmen and of course, aid if required. We invite your clan craftsmen to trade in Circardia with our people. Many of my Phoenix Guard are trained in the way of the forest and are excellent swords men and archers, a skill learned from neighboring elven clans. -

my apologies that I misunderstood you. Since Circardia, is at the end of the road in the Enchanted Forest, we could welcome an entrepreneurial enterprise such as yours as I'm sure we will mutually benefit from trade and news. -
thanks for the kind words. I have always wanted to keep bees and I did some reseach on jobs during the medieval area to try and get some ideas. this idea jumped right off the list as, like i mentioned early, those 2x2 domes always looked like the top of an old wicker beehive (called a skep) I should have more pics up in the next day or two as the tracking on my BL shipment says it should be here NLT Dec 6

Sorry narbilu, but Circardia (watchtower 5 in the Enchanted Forest) already is the responsibility of Arlindus and my Phoenix Guard. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=62116&view=findpost&p=1129966 I also believe the center part of the Mystic Isle have been claimed as well by Brickdoctor Of course Circardia is a haven for those who wish to put their past behind them and we always welcome new inhabitants -

Would it be possible to add a copy of the map to the first page as well? Would make it easier to find and refer as well. Ideally, an interactive map that would link the MOC thread when you clicked on a name or icon but I know that it out of my realm of knowledge! I still haven't posted my finished tower but hope I get the parts to finish the modification this week but Jason has placed my tower where I envisioned it. (number 5 on the Enchanted Forest) the Tower is in the town of Circardia and overseen by Arlindus, Captain of the Phoenix Guard and Circardia. -
Thanks for the feedback. I messed around with the roof for a couple days. In fact that is probably version 3 or 4 of the little house. I'm still not 100% happy with it. I also think I might add another tree behind the house to give it a more "forest" feel and modify the cart so its railings are one stud shorter (mainly because when I was trying to photograph Duram, the cart's height kept blocking my angles and like I said in my original post, I rushed the photos and left off a few small details and noticed a few flaws after I shot the pics. My chimney is crooked for instance. Credit to Maydayartist and Defrel Cardarn for their guides, I also had a lot of motivation and modified some ideas from several other builders here. As for the inspiration, I always saw the dome 2x2 as the top of a old beehive. I then did some google-fu on medieval beekeeping to kind of fill out the back story. It seems that beekeeping was quite the art then, and only a few people were truly successful at it and thought Duram the old man would be a good character. I haven't played Skyrim so it would be interesting to see the comparison. I'm sure they researched it a lot more than me! My plan is to do a couple lifestyle scenes and bring together a lot of the elements with a scene of Arlindus hosting his feast. right now I have some ideas for a hunting party, a fishing scene, a craftsman (stone or carpenter) now if only I could win the lottery so I can keep up with my newly found bricklink addiction!

Here is a MOC I created for the High Chief of Agriculture mini build for the Avalonia Guild. Circardia, a town in the Enchanted Forest, acts a crossroads for trade among the people of the Enchanted Forest. Circardia is ruled by Arlindus my sigfig), Captain of the Phoenix Guard and Circardia. Meet Duram the Beekeeper and his son, Groslin. They live in their modest house just outside Circardia where Duram has kept bees for years. Duram also has a small apple orchard and a few vegetable plants that he harvests that gives his honey its distinct flavor. He is well known for his superior mead at local Inns, honey amongst the more affluent and provides several suppliers in Circardia wax to make candles. Groslin loads up a couple barrels of mead for members of the Phoenix Guard for an upcoming feast to be hosted by Arlindus, Captain of Circardia and the Phoenix Guard. I am waiting a few pieces (1x1 studs on side to build "out" the corners of the farm house) from Bricklink to make a few changes but would love to hear what you think. I also left out some details (chicken and a couple small items that were going to rest against a wall) as I was rushing to take the photos as the sun was setting. Once I make the modifications I'll post more photos showing details.

nicely done. I like the birch trees and the water fall has a sense of power. (might borrow the look of both for future build ideas but will make sure I credit you. the nymph is great, I didn't even know they created all those pieces in clear. welcome to Avalonia!

awesome. I am currently working on my farm and love the look of your barn. I might have to borrow some ideas for mine. And just when I place a couple orders to bricklink for some parts, you go and show me how nice the tan tiles look on the side of the sand green. I have some light blue and your making me contemplate an order of those tan pieces for future projects. Mikey

From one Mikey to another, Nicely done. I especially like the timber pieces that extend from the tower.
