The one under the steering wheel still has to fit between the 2 beam 7 so it can only be 1 wide. You can also see it is only 1 high, so the geometry doesn't fit.

No, that would be too wide. It's either a technic Beam 2 (00) or (more likely) a technic Beam 2 Liftarm (X0)

The 1x2 brick is a Technic brick with axle hole The hoses are probably just there for detailing. The engine is supposed to be in the back.

Is great to see this layout come together and even more so with the MILS standard. When you have some time it would be nice if you could add a few images of your layout and of some individual modules to our MILS Flickr group!

I'm trying to change the separation between multiple steps on a single page, but can't seem to get it done. The moment I put more than one step on a page they try to stay as close to the centre as possible and I want to spread them out. I would also like to figure out how to use both columns AND rows (e.g. 2 columns and 3 rows)

Absolutely love the MOCs and the whole concept of set-sized builds!

Although I participate in several LUGs, I wouldn't say I'm a member of all of them ( even though I am very much treated like one in all of them). I'm mostly active in the HispaBrick Magazine community as a founding member, admin, editor and translator. In addition I participate in the MCP forums (MINDSTORMS) and collaborate with TechnicBRICKs. I'd say I'm already very active online. I recently gave up being an ambassador because I simply had too many things going on and too little time to get it all done. I'm quite surprised at the number of people who say they're not part of a LUG either because it is too far away or because they don't see themselves building together. In my experience a LUG isn't necessarily a physical entity: people getting together all the time. The members of the HispaBrick Magazine community are scattered all over Spain and we see each other once or twice a year. We use our forum to stay in touch and share MOCs, ideas and news. We did an article in HispaBrick Magazine some time ago explaining how several LUGs work and asked people to tell us if their LUGs were very different. We got little response, but most LUGs had some kind of online interaction. They were more about sharing MOCs, news and ideas than solely getting together physically and doing shows. I get the impression that most of the people who say they are not in a LUG because there is none close by are from the USA. Many LUGs in Europe are nationwide and distance isn't so much of a factor for joining.

A nice initiative. Not Technic or Model Team though. I'd say Creator. I like the idea of a book that inspires creativity, reusing the same set of parts and taking people by the hand to do so. In the past I have tried to recreate several of Nathanaels alternates by just looking at the pictures and occasionally the challenge has been a really tough one. I have always immensely enjoyed it.

Exactly where can I find the setting I need to change to get that button?

The old cylinders work fine as pumps, they simply lack the valve that avoids you sucking the air back in again. If you use them together with a valve block they do a great job.

Do the different operations need to be handled manually or do they form a sequence. If the latter is true, you may be able to build it in such a way that each operation triggers the next. In a best case scenario that would mean you'd still need the 3 switches. If there are problems with timing, you may need to use an additional switch and cylinder.

Sort of... first, you can take the cylinder or the pump, cover the outlet/inlet and try to extend or retract the ram. You should feel the resistance and and when you let go of the ram it should go back to the position it was in when you blocked the outlet. Second you can hook up the pump to the cylinder. Make sure the ram of the cylinder is down before you connect. Press the pump and the cylinder should go up. Release the pump and if the spring is still working properly, the ram of the pump should go up and the one in th cylinder should go down. Then connect the pump to the central inlet of the distribution block. When you pump the air should come out only one of the other outlets and when you release the pump (or pull it up) the air should only go in one of the inlets.You can do the same for the manual valve and move the switch to feel the air coming out or going in the inlet opposite to the side you switch the lever.

I haven't tried it personally, but I've spoken to several people who have tried it and it works the same as on Windows 7

I got mine a couple of days ago. The postman gave me a weird look because the package didn't make a noise :D Anyway, I've taken it out to check it really was the book I was waiting for and then had to put it back. Sometimes life takes over. I hope to finally get some time after tomorrow to really start reading it...

I am indeed, though I'm not from SeTechnic but from TechnicBRICKs (and HispaBrick Magazine) - The French surname probably put you on the wrong track (but I'm not French either :D)
