  1. We'll just have to wait for the official announcement and the rules There was a lot of speculation about the VIP promotion that LEGO did recently and all the questions were answered once the website for the promotion went live. I have no doubt the same applies here.
  2. There was probably no ill will, but there certainly was ample space on the card to mention the original author. Simply doing that would have avoided the whole situation, and it wouldn't have made the model any less spectacular.
  3. The perpetrator's name is Scott Anderson. I'll ask around on the Ambassador forum to see if I can find out more.
  4. Yes. As a matter of fact there are special blocks available for NXT-G to connect all the old sensors to the NXT.
  5. Check current FLL regulations first. Last time I looked only the "standard" sensors were allowed, so they may not be able to use what you buy for them. The colour sensor may be an option if they don't have it -earlier kits came with the light sensor and the colour sensor is now allowed for use. Forget about multiplexors (LEGO doesn't sell those anyway). A rechargeable battery could save the team quite some money, but first make sure they don't already have one as the Edu set includes one. There's a good chance that what the FLL team would be best served with is additional parts to build their robot, o my advice is get them a Technic set with lots of handy parts.
  6. Not only a great resemblance, but a very nice interior as well: More details on MOCPages.
  7. Hmm, nice argument, except for the fact that those prices are for sealed boxes and not for the ones you buy to build and play with...
  8. Thanks for the additional information dxb, and to DLuders for hosting the software. I tried the Control Lab Interface with RoboLAB, but none of the USB>Serial converters I tried worked.
  9. An excruciating read in machine translated English, but I suppose for those who don't read Spanish it is better than the original
  10. I'd love to have a look at it!
  11. Pity... I just checked and don't have pics either. Whenever I find pictures of the internals of parts I add them to this entry on the HispaBrick Magazine forum. If you know of anything I have missed, please drop me a line.
  12. 50-50 As pointed out above, if I just wanted to build the model I could download the instructions, but if I only wanted the parts I could also just get the ones I don't already have on BL.
  13. Is that the one you throw it off when to disassemble sets? Mina actually accidentally fell out of the attic. It landed 3m down and was still mostly OK: a very sturdy construction!
  14. Nice studless adaptation of the model by Philo: He has some other very nice models on his page you may want to have a look at: http://www.philohome.com/gbc/gbc.htm
  15. Some people have also suggested the use of olive oil (definitely food grade )
  16. There are also LDD instructions available from a link in the same Flickr set or from the author's Brickshelf folder!
  17. The WeDo software allows for power levels of the attached motors so in theory it might work. Unfortunately I'm on holiday so I can't test it right now. The snag is that the WeDo hub is powered by a USB port so the power output is only 5V. I'm not sure if the Servo would respond at such a low voltage. There are other ways of programming the WeDo system, the most well known being Scratch. Other options include Cherp and Squeek.
  18. Not sure I understand what you mean...
  19. Looks like the problem may be the hoses them themselves. if you can measure the pressure then please do, for example using the 64068 Pneumatic Pressure Gauge - Manometer: Another thing you may try is fastening the tubes to the inlets using some string.
  20. I've just tried the MF link and it worked fine... Which one(s) have you had problems with?
  21. I was faithfully informed by Flickr and couldn't believe my luck when I looked closer: a complex, multi-stage GBC module with a cool "mosaic". Love the clean look of it too.
  22. Looks quite scary :D Can you show some more pictures?
  23. This is one of the reasons many Pneumatic walkers have an external air feed. Other than your structural issues, does the walker behave as expected/designed?
  24. Hooray for Simon!! So good of you to build this for when George gets a little older
