@Lok24 the app checks if BT is enabled. It doesn't check if the hub has been paired previously to some other program. I don't know how Cosmik's or your program work, I only know that making sure you haven't connected to the hub through the Windows BT connection window is a solution that has worked numerous times for different Powered Up hubs (WeDo and Boost). It is one of the ways to exclude there is a problem with interference.
-
Have you made sure the hub is not connecting (or connected) through the BT config panel of Windows itself? If Windows pairs first, the app can't connect to the hub.
-
I don't understand your question. I have the Boost app on my Windows 10 laptop and it works perfectly with all of my Boost hubs. You need to make sure you have a BLE compatible bluetooth chip ir bluetooth dongle, otherwise the app won't be able to connect to your hub(s).
-
There is a Windows 10 app for Boost. There is no Windows app for Powered Up.
-
New developments on the Powered Up front. The app has been updated to include new functionality and allow for more elements to be connected to the hub: https://www.hispabrickmagazine.com/content/2019/04/12/powered-up-app-update/

LEGO Education SPIKE Prime
Jetro replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
ROBOTMAK3RS is a Facebook based community... We have dedicated groups for MINDSTORMS, WeDo, Boost, Powered Up and now also SPIKE Prime. But you are welcome to relay any information you find of interest to this forum. -
LEGO Education SPIKE Prime
Jetro replied to Mr Hobbles's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
There's a lot of information and pictures in the new Spike Community (by ROBOTMAK3RS) on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/SPIKEcommunity/ LEGO designers who have worked on SPIKE Prime ave joined the group, and 6 members of ROBOTMAK3RS were given early access to the set during development (they are of course also in the group). Did you know the US sensor has a built in connection port for custom sensors? :D ... -
I'm sure there's someone keeping an eye on how things develop in the AFOL community, but don't forget LEGO is first and foremost a children's toy. Anything this complex wouldn't fit in that scheme. But they did provide detailed information about the protocol to make this kind of amazing AFOL work possible. I absolutely love where this is going!!

MLCad - how many parts?
Jetro replied to neonic's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I remember using mklist from the command line to let MLCad know about new parts. THat would output a total number of parts and, if memory serves, also the number of new parts added to the library. -
exactly what I was going to say. Still, it's a pity it doesn't work on older devices. What device did you try it on?
-
There are only 2 apps. One for the Boost hub and one for the PUP hub (although I don't like that name since Boost also uses the Powered Up protocol). The idea is that at one point you should be able to control both hubs from a single app
-
For the time being it is 1 device = 1 train
-
That's odd - I have had a hub basically from day 1 and I have never seen a FW update. What does that look like?
-
I haven't been able to trace a single instance of this. Where does this information come from?

Rendering like Blakbird
Jetro replied to 1963maniac's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
We have recently updated our website to include a complete index of all articles ever published in the magazine. The articles you mention were tutorials so you can filter for article type as well. The issues you are looking for are 015 and 016 https://www.hispabrickmagazine.com/index/ -
"We the people" I hope you all enjoy this issue!

You can find them on Bricklink.com searching by the references provided ;)

The app checks for the right motor(s). The Batman profile will only work when 2 medium motors are connected. COnnect only one (or a train motor) and it will do nothing.
-
What education set is the hub from? I didn't know the education sets with Duplo hubs were out already...
-
I'd take that as a description of the current state of the platform. If LEGO were to say anything else they'd get an avalanche of questions on how to make it work right now. Not that I'm optimistic about the chances of it actually happening, but FAQs have been known to change over time.
-
I didn't either, until I installed it on my tablet which (unlike my phone) doesn't have location turned on by default. Then I realised the Powered Up app asks permission to turn on location and does it for you if you grant it. That's a big improvement over Boost, which just tells you with a checklist that location is off and needs to be turned on before you can continue.

Android has BLE discovery packaged with Location services.

Making progress!!

Or maybe there is a different firmware version depending on how you want to use the hub (train or RC).
