  1. Tomic: thanks for the pics. The model is great and I look forward to seeing more of it.
  2. It's not new, but there are many things on the MINDSTORMS website that are not exactly easy to find :( As for the bonus models, keep an eye out because there should be a couple more in the pipeline.
  3. Hi Danim, I have no experience with MINDdroid (dont even have an Android phone) but the frst thing that comes to mind is that something went wrong while pairing the NXT and the phone. How did you estabish the connection? From inside the MINDdroid app or do you use a pre-existing BT connection?
  4. In addition to the angle connectors there is the 32039 Technic, Axle Connector with Axle Hole Although this leaves you with only four possible angles when connected to an axle.
  5. You mean something like what is used in the PF base for the racers from last year to implement steering?
  6. There's a specific subforumwith an even more specific thread about that ;)
  7. Tough call! (What's with the deformed images due to stretching?)
  8. Here's another video by Bazmarc. Incidentally, his photo gallery has been published through the LEGO MINDSTORMS site.
  9. I haven't seen myself in any video yet, but I know most of the people who appear in them. The problem is that the pace of Vassilis' (NextSTORMING) video makes it hard to describe anything. First frames left Ron McRae, Bazmati, Martyn Bogaarts (hidden) right frame Xander Soldaat, Mathias Paul Scholtz, later on left frame, people standing around in front of a blue garge door: Steven Canvin, Mike Brandl, Daniele Benedetelli, right frame, Martyn, Daniele, Mike and Stephan Matter. Further on top left frame Kevin Clague and bottom right frame Philippe "Philo" Hurbain neeling next to his NXT motor bike. After the child with the head remote (built by Vassilis) Xander Soldaat and Damian Kee, at the computer, Chris Smith and Kevin Clague. There are more, but they are harder to pin point.
  10. No, but there is an Education version of NXT-G which is now at v2.1
  11. I get that ever so often when calling my family and they certinly haven't changed their number (or are they trying to avoid me ) But seriously, it probably just means your carrier has more traffic than it can handle. Just try at a different hour.
  12. @Jurgen I was there from Saturday till Tuesday, but as I said, MINDSTORMS and the MCP took up most of my time. I certainly hope to be back next year though. The display by LowLUG was impressive - I also missed the chance of talking to Menno Gorter. I love his walkers and the one he brought was absolutely massive.
  13. Pity I missed you Jurgen, but my time was all taken up in the MINDSTORMS section. It was interesting to see the similarities and differences between Martyn's and Chris' factory-makerbot
  14. I spent most of the weekend at LEGOWORLD and didn't see any new Technic sets - there were loads of other interesting things to be seen though...
  15. AFAIK RoboLab and NXT-G run on the same firmware so when you say 'slow' I take it you refer to the interface and download to brick speed, which in the case of NXT-G can indeed be excruciatingly slow. But on the NXT the diffrerences between those programming languages should not be very big as the firmware speed is the same (there is still the fact that NXC for example can generate "cleaner" more "compact and direct" code, optimizing the speed of the program) If what you need is faster firmware (faster than RoboLab) you should have a look at either RobotC or LeJOS, both of which use alternative, faster firmware.
  16. A reply with detailed explanations from "the horse's mouth" - much appreciated!!
  17. The 'hard' copies are paperbacks. As I mentioned in my previous post, they contain te information from Tora no Maki and that is a PDF book available for download.
  18. Although I have already ordered the books (and am really looking forward to receiving them) I asked Yoshihito about the contents of these three books. He confirmed they contain "only" the material already available in Tora no Maki and the fact that the page count is considerably higher is due to Tora no Maki being A4 and the printed books quite a bit smaller. Even so, it will be a delight to have a physical copy of these idea books on my LEGO bookshelf. (they'll probably spend more time on my desk than on the shelf though)
  19. Can you give us an estimated build time for the house?
  20. Thanks for the pictures. I always like seeing this kind of stuff works.
  21. Sad thing is there appears to be no option to mark an offer as a scam or report it for bad practise.
  22. You can find it here: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=446902
  23. Absolutely fantastic! WOuld have loved to see it first hand.
  24. Just compare the available budget and expected benefit and you'll see there is much more reason or LEGO to be 'late' than GT5 :) Now there's a great way to pass the time!!
