  1. You really love croissants eh? It was a great interview, both of you did a very nice job there. Concerning your upcoming University studies dear Admiral, dont leave us alone with our 'project'! When Captain Zuloo asked you for your favorite part I already knew what the answer was. Great job, I really enjoyed listening!
  2. I also thank you for the great job you have done on Classic-Pirates. An outstanding and priceless ammount of work! Thank you very much, and I'm glad you will still be around here. It has been a great time Connor! All the best!
  3. Must have been Erdbeereis, after catching you spying on them during the dress-up party. I only had one dream about EB, and all what I remember is the site was unaccessible because the Police was searching for clues in the forum threads to find a bank robber.
  4. Thank you Admiral! Thanks Croissant! I think I keep them in black yes, I just experimented with brown grates but it makes it quite monotone. We have to meet up again soon! Thank you Captain Becker! Another update is coming soon, and I hope to have the hull finished, including interior. Thanks! Thank you very much Fires-storm! Haha true. I can only hope you didn't had anything better to do that night. She has her 44 guns, and adding another section (I tried) makes her too long concerning her width. If I add another section I have to make the stern and decks even wider. All what is left on the starboard broadside is to make things more stable. Work for monday! Thanks Joey.
  5. Great work man! They are awesome, and you work fast too!
  6. Hey there Sandy! What an amazing vessel! It's beautiful! Her shape looks great and the figurehead is very nice. I also really like the colours and detail you've put in this ship. Perhaps you can let the blue line on the prefab hulls connect with eachother? Soon!
  7. Very nice Joey, very creative and original. I have different faces indeed, although I've been stuck with one for a couple of months now. Probably because I can't find my previous scared/smile face. I'm looking forward to see more, keep it up!
  8. Hi all. It's been a while since I've received a huge package. Filled with the nice stuff. So after that I've been rather busy, and here is the result so far. Update 10, and including the bowsprit the ship is like 10 feet tall. Enjoy. As you see the broadside is near her completion, after that it is an easy job to copy it to the other side. The Alceste has undergone an update as well, less gunports (from 7 to 5) to fit within the Fourageux' scale, which is somewhere between minifig scale and Bonaparte and CGH's minifig illusion scale. I have made a small lFrench flag as decoration between the bananas, it adds a lot of detail and colour variation to the stern. The grates on the upper gundeck, made from several houndred headlight bricks. The credit for the grates design goes to Perfectionist, a great design! Looks quite realistic, perhaps I should try them in Reddish Brown? The bell, I'm truely in love with Chrome Silver! A size comparison between the Alceste and the Fourageux. Now I head back to building, there is a lot to do! Thanks for watching, and there is always more on my Flickr page. Good day.
  9. What an amazing ship you've got there Bonaparte! I love the hull's shape, it looks very exotic! The lateen sails are excellent too. As well for the details. The curve in the yards is very well done and adds a lot to the whole rigging. Perhaps some more colours here and there to spice it up a little, but certainly one of the best ships I've ever seen. Great job on this beauty, and I'm eagerly awaiting your next project!
  10. That is very, very well done! Incredible size, details, landscape and overall feeling! Perfect. Great job!!
  11. Congratulations on a well deserved first place Exotrator! Great job! May you enjoy your cannons.
  12. Thanks! And yes, those old brown ship hulls are quite hard to find. And I don't want to order just a hull piece from a store. I'm glad you like it thus far! This ship certainly appears in large projects in the nearby future.... I'm glad you like the lantern Captain! It took a while to make it, and I have to be careful with it too. For the masts, see the next answer. Thanks Admiral! It's true it looks a bit odd with just one mast, but compared to Le Fourageux she is in perfect scale. The thing what needs to be changed is the ammount of gunports in the sloop and the distance between them. It makes the ship look rather large and it looks odd compared to Le Fourageux' hull, which has 9 studs between the gunports... I was trying for a look like this: However, I really consider making two masts, but it becomes a brig then. And for being a brig, she needs to be bigger to fit within the Fourageux scale. Tough. Thanks! This build shouldn't take too long, perhaps a month or two with custom rigging included. Thanks General! I'll see what's best for her. First some adjustments to the hull. Thanks! The lamp design succeeds in being liked! I will share the techniques soon, later in this thread.
  13. Mast placement is ideal! Your stern has improved a lot, and it fits nice with the ship's line now. The mast length looks good too, and so does the bow. Keep it up!
  14. Hello all. Recently I have started working on a new, small vessel. The reason behind it is not very clear, although it's mostly for rigging testing purposes. And it is great to have a small side project running as well. Sometimes you need a break building on the large ships. I have started building with whatever was in my collection, so some bricks are in the wrong colour and will be replaced shortly. The pictures were taken in a hurry since I had not the time yesterday to recharge the batteries, which takes a few hours. So I had to take the pictures before the battery ran out. Enough squabbling from my side, time for the pics! An overview of the whole situation. She will have 1 mast. From a slightly other angle. The larboard side has been built now as well. A view all way up to the stern. A new capstan design! I think this and the lantern are the best details on the ship. Captain Lucas Villermont is going to have the command over this vessel. The view from the Captain's eyes. I have to put technic axles in the masts, they keep swinging around! The anchor holes. And yes, I know the bow hull piece needs to be replaced by an old brown one! The right broadside. She will have less cannons since there are just 4 studs between each gunport, I make it like 6 or 7. An old picture from the lantern, but it's still the same! That was all for now! Let me know what you think. More pictures on Flickr of course!
  15. A very nice build Captain! The coloursheme is really appealing to me. The sails are very nice too! Your stern technique has improved a lot I see. Perhaps you can add a little more detail like flowers and such though, but the shape is very nice! The two cannons at the back are a nice touch, and I like the figurehead. The French flag looks great too. I see you have some excellent reference sources! Master and Commander and Napoleon Total War!
  16. Smart! Really cool figs you've got there. Although I feel a bit sad for the Crusader, he looks a bit basic compared to the hassassin and the saracen. Great job!
  17. A very nice hull already! Very nice job. CGH is right though, it is quite V shaped, although the pictures show it is indeed a bit more V then U shaped. I have rebuild my brickbuilt hull over and over, and Captain Greenhair did the same I think. I guess you should keep trying to get the perfect shape. Where did you get these scetches? Are there more of them from different ship types? You are doing a great job there mate, keep it up!
  18. That is a real astonishing creation! It's awesome. The dwarf is already an epic creation on it's own! The rock seems a bit flat to me, but the rest is amazing. Great job and welcome back!
  19. You've made a great ship already, I like the tumblehome and the overall look of it. The stern looks great, but it's quite high too. I keep an eye on this thread, since it looks quite promising! Keep it up!
  20. I have downloaded a few songs and made a couple of CD's from them. You can't go without music during building!
  21. That is very true! The real LEGO Imperial Guard ships are quite under armed, the Imperial Soldier ships too if you take a look at the pirate vessels... Now we have the Imperial Flagship which has quite an armament considering the previous Pirate Line. It's also not too great most LEGO ships have indeed twice more gunports then actual cannons on board... It would be awesome if TLC released a realistic 74 gun ship instead!
  22. Yeah, I was thinking to make a Napoleonic desert army with camels. They fit good in the castle theme as well, useful for saracens. I'm quite fond of the new Prince of Persia line.
  23. I'm not too sure about that. British ships were heavier armed with heavier guns then their opponents, talking about ships of the line. They had an excellent trained crew too. The opponents (French, Dutch, United States mostly) had better armoured, armed and faster frigates. That was the history lesson for today.
  24. All the Avatar soundtracks! Lovely! Amon Amarth is always enjoyable too!
  25. I was just "borrowing" it, although I did not ask for permission, and didn't bring it back either. That was almost a year ago, and untill today, nobody has caught me!
