Which pieces would you like to see in future pirate sets?
Captain Blackmoor replied to Shadows's topic in LEGO Pirates
If you do, expect a large order from me. -
Nice idea to post some pictures during the week so you are curious about how the story goes on. I like the build MOC but it may need some improvements: The Imperial guards are unarmed and don't really look upset about the small invasion. A textballoon would say: "Ah, welcome! You're just on time for dinner." It would be nicer when the guards are in panic or something. If it has to do with your story, forget what I said. Again, nice idea.

The Eendracht as well. But finish your Prince Willem first. -

Latest OFFICIAL Survey from the LEGO Group
Captain Blackmoor replied to Zorro's topic in LEGO Pirates
I asked to release even more pirate sets upcoming years, with new factions ( the armada, islanders and bluecoats ) I hope they listen to us. -
Brickarms ofcourse, my mistake...

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
You should also make a MOC from the Amsterdam, a nice VOC ship as well. -
You lucky bastard Nice bonus, an extra sail would come in good use I believe. That lucky bastard isn't meant to hurt anyone.

He's right: "Fight and all of you will die, or surrender which causes only the most of you will die." (Beckett) But I still vote for the Imperials

Dutch VOC ship the Prins Willim, minifig scale!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Captain Green Hair's topic in Pirate MOCs
Looove that figurehead!! It's the same lion as the "Zeven Provinciën" right? I believe the "Batavia" has also a lion as figurehead. I like it! Your ship is getting very cool so far. Every time you look at it you're stunned by it's size. Great work so far! -
Pirates and Navy's Day Off? *IMAGE HEAVY*

A movie is a nice idea. Hahaha, a new game: find the frog in my MOC's. -
Haha, I've enjoyed the "contest" very much. I wish more detective contests in the futere!
-
Imperials ofcourse, so I can hang those unlucky pirates. :pir-skull: It's also I just like the "coats" more then pirates. Pirates: BEWARE!

Haha, I'm working on a video as well, an useful technique is Greenscreening. With some experience you can make the most wonderful movies with awesome backgrounds. There are a lot of turtorials on the web which teach you how to do greenscreening. The only problem may be the software, if you don't want to pay for it it's difficult to find a free, good video-editing program. But whitout greenscreening I believe you can make some nice videos as well. Good luck on your movie! I'm looking forward to the result.

That sounds great! Maybe you can make some candles or lanterns which can be hold in a minifig's hands as well. Perhaps some "goodies" are also a neat idea: I mean baskets, cotton and wine bottles. I want to see the pics about what you're making as well. Keep up the good work! -
I prefer the old ones because they show a couple of islands surrounded by sea. There's also a ship on it. It fits very well in the old pirate theme. I'm not really satisfied with the new charts, looks like Lego thought it was cheaper to put IJ charts in the new sets. In fact they should update the old charts, by adding more details and colours. But I will buy new pirate sets anyway. ImperialShadow's charts look amazing by the way

The potential of LEGO Digital Designer for Pirate MOCs
Captain Blackmoor replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
I don't think they would do it but if they did I would buy a lot of extra pieces to expand everything I have! I need some new ship parts but even if I find them they are **** **** expensive! Now the new pirate's line has been revealed I hope the prices of classic sets will go down. But I doubt it. -

Haha, quite nice MOC but you should add a story to it, I don't see any storyline in it. And some tiles on the ground would make it more realistic indeed. But still a nice MOC and thanks for the transparent frog. 4/5 from me. -
Artist of the 2009 Pirate Set Comics - we've found his blog!
Captain Blackmoor replied to Wes's topic in LEGO Pirates
Nice pics but I'm not going to buy the BB because it contains a comic. Sad thing that Lego never placed comics in the old pirates-line instruction books -
Reference Material for Creating more Realistic Ships
Captain Blackmoor replied to QuartermasterRobert's topic in LEGO Pirates
That was useful for me, I was just working on a new crowsnest today but didn't know the exact details. Also I'm going to use the swivel gun for the upper decks like the book says. Thanks for posting this Phred. -
Is the LEGO Pirates Forum too chaotic? Are sub-forums needed?
Captain Blackmoor replied to Mazin's topic in LEGO Pirates
I see no reason removing the subforums, everything works fine for me. I can understand some people think it is chaotic but so long as I can find what I want on Classic-Pirates I'm satisfied with the forums. -
Perhaps Lego should release cannonballs in metallic colour as well, that would be much better then the pale grey or black cannonballs which I use at this moment.

He has done a nice job with making the comics. It's always nice to read a story about your Lego set I can draw quite well but I can't make such comics ( yet ). -
Bluecoats for me! Although I like every faction but I prefer the Bluecoats.
-
It is true the new sets have a bit too much new colours. That makes it hard to customize them with your "older" lego. Anyway, I'm still hoping on new muskets and cutlasses, with new colours of course. Brickarms* will release bayonets and rapiers soon, maybe even a new musket... *=edited
