Yes, that's one possibility... However I don't have any Lego bananas. :)
-
No other minifigs, just the two opponents and a shark. I imagine it to be just a part of the fort, one wall damaged by cannonballs standing on the shore and sea just below it. The set would be about the size of Broadside's Brig or maybe a little bigger Cannon Cove.

Here it is, in the lower left corner. Thanks for someone called "obscurance" from brickshelf for using his picture. :)
-
I think that would go to section other than "Castle & Pirates" so please post a link to that topic here if you make it... I don't frequently browse other sections ;) If you don't make it I'll probably PM you. And thanks for your help!

So you're saying the Armada Flagship sunk this one? Fascinating... :)

I don't think Caribbean Clipper should be mentioned here as IMO it belongs to the big ships. However since it is here I of course voted for it once again, because it's the best of those in question.

One BSB down. This must've been quite a view for Broadside and his troops.

How similar Vikings to other themes?
Dreamweb replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, if we look at the time the theme is supposed to take place, Vikings are much closer to Castle than Pirates, they use similar weapons as knights did and there are monsters in their sets (Castle had its dragons). However those similarities are not enough to call them part of the Castle line, so I chose the first option. -
I'm from Poland. About the nearest supplier - I haven't checked lately. Actually I never ordered anything by bricklink and I'm not 100% sure if I know exactly how it works. :$

A website. And a really nice one.

I think it's something like the guns we saw on SES's bridge... Yes, that looks a bit strange to me as well. But on the other hand the ship looks more mysterious with this ghost at the bow.

Well, so I have a KK piece! That's something new...

How about this one: The Final Duel Two mortal enemies meet in a fight to death. The set includes two figs - a pirate captain (probably Red Beard once again, considering the character of this set) and Governor Broadside (well, Woodhouse would fit too but I just don't like him as much). They meet on the ruins of some fort the pirates have just destroyed in which Broadside was staying, they are fighting on the top of the fort's wall. Their armies are busy fighting each other, or maybe most of them have already died/escaped. They are both wounded (I'd like to see some new torsos and faces - Broadside's uniform torn, bruises and wounds on his face, the same for Red Beard) and have just one sabre each, and the duel begins. The loser will fall off the wall into the water (the fort is on the shore) where a shark is already waiting.

I agree, plus it has more nice details, like all those hatches (8 including doors!), is more universal (no skull and crossbones printed on sails) and much more good-looking than the SES. Yes, it's one of the best sets ever made. And it's finally winning in our poll thanks to you. A place it deserved from the very beginning. Black Seas Barracuda forever!!! :)

Modify it a bit and it becomes great. When built according to instructions it has some faults like the silly way the rear sail is attached (there's no way it can actually drag the ship forward, when it's attached only in two points!), anchor with no winch, bridge with no ladder to get to it... But the Spaniards look great, so do the sails, and I like the white hull very much. Check out my just a little improved version here.

Aren't the rats a part of every ship's crew? :) Only this week! For every 2 ships sunk you get a free pizza.
-
They have lots of those hull sections there but as I wrote in another thread this wouldn't pay because of the shipping costs.
-
For the same reason I don't use bricklink... The shipping would be too expensive compared to what I'd want to buy.
-
Note that the ship has custom made cannons - there's not enough room for original cannons to be put on both sides of those narrow hulls (I assume the gun ports are on both sides of the ship). And yes the ship does look tippable because of that tall stern section.
-
Maybe not literally food but seeds or cuttings. As for the monkeys it's really a problem, however my crew will soon think of something. :) Oh wait a minute, the ship doesn't have any assinged crew yet... Rats!
-
As I said I have no idea, I just got it in a big bag of various parts. However it's safe to assume that it's from Castle theme on which I'm no expert.
-
This is exactly what the guy on that page wrote. If only I could find it again... I'll try.
-
What about the Imperial Flagship? I once found a page where a guy who was an expert in sailing described all Lego ships and compared them to real ships, and said which of them were the most realistic, and named the types of the vessels. It was more than a year ago and I can't find it now.

Thanks for the information. What about the one with the bull on his chest? I used it because I thought it would fit a Spaniard nicely (Spain -> corrida -> bulls).

Let me think... They can transport monkeys to Europe and sell them for circuses or something like that. :) Apart from monkeys: money, jewels, horses, weapons, food. They can carry supplies for the colonies for instance.
