Viking: Uhh, all right, no more drinking today.

What I like about Armada Flagship is that it's white hull would look great as a base for a nice modern sailing boat. Of course it's for those who prefer City or perhaps Paradisa to Pirates. I wouldn't waste my ship like this, it's just a thought and it shows its versatility. This poll lacks the small ship from Imperial Trading Post. It looks great and I consider it Lego's big mistake not having it released as a separate set.

In my case everything started with 3 sets I got at the same time: 6245 Harbor Sentry 6251 Pirate Mini Figures 6257 Castaway's Raft 6245 is a great source of parts - a boat, an officer, a rotating platform and a cannon, but the design is poor - I wouldn't want to be in this guy's place when he fires that cannon from the boat. I don't consider it one of the top 5. And my top five would be (in no particular order): 6285 Black Seas Barracuda The best of the big ships and the first one too, probably if it hadn't been released there would be no SES (much, MUCH worse, but still great of course) and no awesome MOC ships - BSB just started it all. One would think that ships released later should be better, after all their designers would have gained some experience, but it wasn't so. A pioneer and a classic. I rate it 9,5 out of 10. 6276 Eldorado Fortress This one's a classic too, has some faults like the lack of ladders or stairs mentioned in another thread. I give it 8,5/10. After just a little customizing is done it can be perfect and reach 10/10. Oh, and it's one of two sets including great Governor Broadside. 6277 Imperial Trading Post I must admit - it's the only one of these sets in question I don't own. But after studying its pictures and instructions I must say it's amazing. The size and the amount of details are striking. I don't own it so no rating this time. But it is possible that if I had one it would be 10/10. 6263 Imperial Outpost The best of the middle sized sets, what I especially like about it is that it has 3 storeys (this time with ladders), which is great for a set of this size. And it was the cheapest way to get Admiral Woodhouse! 9/10 among middle-sized sets. 6257 Castaway's Raft Yes, one of my first three sets so it does have emotional value. It has everything a small set should have - great design and a lot of playability. I also like the number of minifigs - three pirates, plus a shark! 10/10 among small sets. Note that apart from 6277 I only took sets I own into consideration. For example if I had Rock Island Refuge it would probably be on the list. 6277 is just so great it deserved making an exception.

But I don't want to change anything, the subtitle should remain. :) What I meant is I couldn't have added it before and that's why it was here since the very beginning.
-
Yes it was here all the time all right. :) I even don't know if I as the topic founder can change the title / subtitle :)

A riddle: How to transfer wolf, viking and basketball from the left bank of the river to the right bank?
-
And why would HE be mentioned here? He wasn't the captain.

I vote for Broadside. This choice is caused a bit by nostalgia - I remember when I was a kid and all my friends had one or more Rogers and I was the only one who had Broadside and I was quite proud of it. That was of course because he was so rare - he appeared only in 2 sets. So he was considered exclusive - unlike Roger who was almost everywhere. I got the first one with the Carribean Clipper and I still have him - I played with him so much that he's totally worn out - the buttons on his uniform no longer exist and his hat easily falls off his head. And only about half a year ago I got an Eldorado Fortress with Broadside looking good as new.

Note that this poll is about favourite character, not favourite subtheme. And by characters I mean those who have names and can be considered as individuals, not just some anonymous sailors. I love the Spaniards myself, they just didn't fit into this poll.
-
Just a quick reminder: Governor Broadside Admiral Woodhouse Captain Roger / Red Beard Captain Ironhook King Kahuka (all minifigs come from my collection except for Kahuka whom I don't own so I scanned his image from 1994 catalogue) The base for your choice may be anything you want - which of them is the most good-looking, has the best ship, is in the best sets and so on.
-
Viking: Now, after me, repeat: Megabloks suck!
-
So the guy I've seen use the name just messed it all up. So no one knows the Spanish leader's name? I need it for a poll I'm planning...
-
Viking: Now tell me, where is your female?
-
Just a question: The Soldiers had Governor Broadside as their leader, the Imperial Guards had Admiral Woodhouse. Was there ever mentioned what was the name of the Imperial Armada/Spaniards' captain? I've heard the name Cortez somewhere but it might have just been made up by some afol, I'm looking for an official name.

Viking: I'll ask you again. What is that light sabre you mentioned?

Which Official Pirate LEGO Sets Do You Have?
Dreamweb replied to Mister Phes's topic in LEGO Pirates
My list is now updated. Check out page 3 of this thread. -
Quite surprised by Star Wars' leading position (but don't blame me, I'm a fan of Star Trek myself) i voted for Pirates. And I suggest that you Pirate line fans out there gave it your votes :) Well you could always make TWO threads and that would make voting for 20 themes posiible, and so on... One of them can be chosen for posting, other(s) just for voting.

:oo I have no idea why they made these when they already had older and BETTER versions of a palm tree, ready to put in a new set... Waste of time for Lego designers.
-
That'll be nice. About Ghost Rider - I've been thinking about giving him a motorbike, but it's pretty tricky with those fiery weels and all. Here you can see other brickshelf user's version of the motorbike, it's pretty interesting.

I must admit the Imperial Flagship is the most elegant of all ships (including pirate ones), when I look at it I almost see it sailing with a lot of grace. However IMO Caribbean Clipper beats it anyway with its size and amount of details.

"The Best and Wisest Man I Have Ever Known."
Dreamweb replied to Athos's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It was also continued in another A. C. Doyle's story. Is this guy at the top Dr Watson? If I remember correctly, he didn't witness the duel of Holmes and Moriarty. -
Still seems strange, after all wide hull sections didn't cease to exist and it's a pity Lego didn't release more soldiers' ships with wide hulls, but the small size of their ships is a popular subject anyway.
-
I always wondered why ADMIRAL Woodhouse's flagship was smaller than CAPTAIN Broadside's :) And yes, it also appeared to me that these two guys didn't like each other.
-
This captain definitely needs some crew :) I like it when people make good looking custom hull sections, like the whole part between bow and stern in this case. Inverted slopes at the sides would look better than normal bricks, however the way it is it looks surprisingly good.
-
Yes, but I care about my crew :) The other feature similar to this is that in many Lego sets there are no ladders that would allow poeple to climb up to other levels - there are many examples in the Pirate line too, just look at the Caribbean Clipper, Red Beard Runner or Eldorado Fortress. I understand it's fun for kids when they can put their minifigs on higher or lower levels of a building/ship/whatever and they don't care too much how unrealistic it is to have more than one floor and no stairs or anything.
