  1. Yeah, this brings back good memories to me... I still have A1200 and I had A600 before that one... And I also played a lot on my friend's A500. How about a Favourite Amiga Games thread in Culture and Multimedia section?
  2. It's fifty-fifty now...
  3. Sure thing. I would make an estuary out of this, add a part of the sea and maybe a port nearby.
  4. Ah, and here's the explanation from Lugnet: 1747 Pirates Treasure Surprise - This is the non-U.S. boxed version of 1802 1802 Tidy Treasure - This is the U.S. polybag version of 1747.
  5. That's crazy... It's the same set with different number :) LINK
  6. Really? Are we both talking about this set?
  7. Those on the picture above look grey to me.
  8. Yes, that would be a great idea. We can see something like this here (from Warsaw again, I won't put this picture into the thread because of its size). Now another possibility would be a sitting mermaid. This time something from Lego's home country - Copenhagen Mermaid.
  9. I think building a wall for a house is much easier than building actual rock - a rocky cliff, or a quarry's wall... BURPS just don't do them justice... They should also have a lot of cracks but shouldn't be perfectly vertical. And shouldn't be in one colour only. As a geologist I have some ideas though...
  10. My point exactly. It should also have the ability to move to some degree... Then the mermaid can stand or sit on it, depending on the position of the tail. BTW mermaids are my long-time friends because my city's emblem is a mermaid.
  11. I like the water. It has a dynamic feeling. Some transparent bricks would make it look a bit better, however I generally think that if you make shallow water (a small stream, a puddle) you should use transparent bricks only (blue or clear), and when you make deep water like the open sea, normal blue bricks are better.
  12. Is this a football pitch the whole thing is built on? :)
  13. I took this image from this thread: Well, looks like a mermaid to me, however I'd imagine mermaid's tail to be more errr... slender. Well this WILL require making a custom tail.
  14. Much better than using brown barrels, the grey ones make an impression of being made of metal.
  15. Pirates introduced firearms, faces other than standard smileys, sails and raised baseplates to the Lego world! And all of it happened in one year. And all of these ideas were later reused in other lines. Even the very specialised hull pieces are now used in Vikings. The line should be favoured by these facts alone.
  16. Well, I voted for Pirates, this has been my all-time favourite line, almost since my first contact with Lego bricks. Although Castle is great as well, I remember visiting my friend and having great time playing with his castle Lego. Of course he also came to me and played with my pirates and soldiers... And sometimes we played with both at the same time (but no mixing my bricks with his :) )
  17. Yes, this solution is much better than deleting off-topic posts :)
  18. That'd be faster but you have to be careful not to scratch the bricks :)
  19. Printing this pattern on a large sticker, then cutting it to fit the bricks and putting the stickers on them wouldn't be hard, maybe someday I'll try it (when I start building my long-planned fortress, but that won't be so soon).
  20. Just an idea I came up with: A granite-like brick! Just imagine how a large building made of these would look like! It can be anything but monotonous.
  21. If other people have some ideas, then yes, personally I haven't tried anything yet so I have nothing to talk about :) For now that is...
  22. Are they? I'll have to check, if they're in small ones perhaps I'll get my first HP set (that'll be the day!). Otherwise I'll think of something :)
  23. Remember it was the Pirates theme and Eldorado Fortress that introduced the CRAP baseplate, later very popular in Castle buildings. Mermaids! Why haven't I made any yet? This idea is so obvious I just can't believe I haven't thought of it...
