  1. I heard something: Removed by request (sorry). May 1st.
  2. I dont know Hobbit story, but I think that Battle for Helms Deep must be LOTR set (It will be in firts wave, I accidently saw set listing, but just for a second or two)
  3. If I remember correctly plane is second larger set, in 40 euro range (think this years helicopters). Mini tow truck is 10 euro (similar to mini bulldozer), tracked crane is 20 euro, and quad is similar to previous version - 30 euro (i did not see any pics, just above list with prices).
  4. It was my first set after dark ages (and the one I paid most for, because i did not know about bricklink, ebay and pre-holiday shop discounts, but that will probably change with Unimog). Sinc then I bought and built almost all large technic sets (besides 8421 which I dont like and Ferrari sets, which are technicaly not pure technic). Based on that (and counting only studeless PF era sets), my opinion is: Building experience: nothing special and a little confusing at the begining. No gearbox or other advanced functions. Short build due to smaller parts count (comparing to "true" flagships). 8258 and 8043 clearly lead here. 5/10 Parts: Very nice PF selection and a lot of tread links, but really nothing much else. There are very few gears and almost no special technic parts. A lot of system bricks. 7/10 (but just because of PF parts). Design: very authentic and well made. It was designed begfore we got large technic panels so some parts are made of system bricks, but that's ok. 10/10 Playability: bulldozer itself is very sturdy, but unfortunately brick-made blade is not, so forget about about moving anything big or heavy. Also, tread links tend to slip a lot especially on flat surface and bulldozer will not drive in straight line, because fake motor is connected to just on side. But its fully remote controled and that outweighs all of the above. 8/10 Summary: 8275 was bought mainly for its PF parts (now 8043 is better choice for that), but it really deserves more, because it's not a bad set. It works and looks very well with 8043 and 8265 (they are in scale and of same colour) and I think it's a must have for every technic collector (just make sure that you have 8043, 8258, 8265 and 8110 before that, because they are better sets).
  5. 8070 should do, with additional BL orders. There will be some problems though, like for example tires (currently just 9 available on BL) and wheelcaps (currently just 1 available on BL). Other option would be 8070 tires with 599 caps (expensive, but at least available), but I think those would look to small.
  6. I mentioned it in another theme over a month ago, but no one seemed to notice it: it will be fully rc rock climber. I dont have any more details, but I'm pretty sure it will use new parts from Unimog, like portal axles and those torque joints. I'm also guessing that it will have 1xl/1m motors, which is enough, if you use large speed reduction. Oh, and we will get technic plane.
  7. Well, they are, at least those on the first page.
  8. It's out for more than a month now, but it seems that TLG's NDA is holding very well. :(
  9. Dont get too excited, beacuse those sets sound way bettery then they look. I've seen the pics about a month or so ago and I must say I was dissapointed. That could chanhge with better pics (those were really small) and maybe its just my personal taste, but I'm very sorry for such an opportunity being missed here. On the other side that is good, because more money will be available for really great SW and LOTR 2012 waves.
  10. 8275 Motorized Bulldozer. I've allways wanted technic motors and universal remote system was something I didnt even dare to hope for, so when I saw it, I decided it's time to go back.
  11. You are of course correct. I just took BL prices, which are higher. That means that trains a little bit more expensvie, but relations generaly stay the same. From this we can also see how expensive are maersk, TS3 and HP trains, which all come without tracks or PF parts.
  12. Situation in Germany: 3677 - 150 euro 7939 - 170 euro 7938 - 109 euro All have: Battery Box - 14euro Motor - 14euro Reciver - 17euro Remote - 14,50eur = 59,50euro Tracks: Flexible - 0,40 euro Straight - 2,26 euro Curved - 0,70 euro Switch - 5,50 euro 3677: 16xFlexible - 6,40 euro 8xStraight - 18,08 euro 16x Curved - 11,20 euro =35,68 7939: 16xFlexible - 6,40 euro 8xStraight - 18,08 euro 16Curved - 11,20 euro 2xSwitch - 11 euro =46,68 7938: 16xFlexible - 6,40 euro 16xCurved - 11,20 euro =17,60 All have one trackside structure and 7939 also has additional truck 3677 - 150-95,18=54,82 euro (locomotive, 3 cars, gravel loader) 7939 - 170-106,18=63,82 euro (locomotive, 3 cars, crane, truck) 7938 - 110-77,10=32,90 euro(locomotive, 2 cars) So, it all scales pretty nicely: 1 train car (or locomotive) is around 11 euro, trackside structure is around 10 euro and truck is around 9 euro) 3677 = 4x11+10 7939 = 4x11+10+9 7938 = 3x11 (and you seem to get staton for free :) ) If you look at just cars/price ration then 7938 is the best option, although 3677 has better parts (windscreens) and 7939 is the best complete set.
  13. I've allways wanted some lego batman sets, but I was in dark ages when they were on shelves and then prices got up really fast, so I was reall happy when I saw those new sets. I will get Bat Cave for sure and maybe also new pursuit set ( I will have to see larger pics first)
  14. I meant 8110 of course. And I was not joking. I really was at Mercedes dealership and after seeing all merchandise which they got there, I really asked about new Unimog.
  15. I just had my mercedes serviced at the local dealership and I also asked when they will get 8100. Unfortunately they didn't even know that such a model exists. :(
  16. This might be true, but just a few sets under DC comics license.
  17. Well, I don't know "Hobbit" story, but since top priced set of new wave will be "battle for helms deep", I dont think first wave will be hobbit based.
  18. There will be LoTR before Hobbit, similar like it was with Toy Story (first came TS 1 and 2 sets, and after the movie was we got TS 3 sets). In this way Lego sets also serve as teaser for new movie.
  19. Mercedes tracker is not recognizable by many people and I sure that they will not do it. Supercar wont be coming for a few years (we have one this year) and even then I dont think It will be motorised. Offroader is much more possible, because with portal axles you dont have problems with torque before final gear reduction (any TT builder will confirm that).
  20. Which would you prefer:DC comics (batman, superman and others) or Lotr (it seems that we will end getting both anyway)?
  21. I bet will be Rock Crawler, fully RC. Lego did not make those hubs just for Unimog.
  22. I heard something about full rc offroader, but I'm not sure if its technic or "racers" set, like Dirt Crusher. This came from reliable, but non-afol source, so it's really hard to tell, but remote is supposed to be different from current PF remotes. Maybe my longe time wish about pf-compatible, variable speed, non train based remote will finally come to life (I am talking about remote where small movement of remote stick would result in low speed). Remember, this is all just my speculation and even if we will get such a set it will be in 2H2012, so we will have to wait for a long time before we will know for sure. OK, back to theme: I personally would be very happy if we could get succesor of 8480 space shuttle, with PF , led-s and so on. The time is right for it (last shuttle mission) and it be pleasent offset from current car-truck-construction vehicle lineup. edit: eric surpassed me for a few minutes :)
  23. You have it on bricklink: 1971g for castle and 1245 for mill village. Together: 3216 grams. If you will scrap boxes you could easily get it under 3 kilos.
  24. I heard something about new Dino theme. Nothing more, just that, so it might be anything.
