  1. I like Caribean Clipper very much, because its from my favorite bluecoat facition and I remember it from last years before ma dark ages. It's just that other sets are even better anda bove all larger. If I would consider just from sentimental point than it would be all first wave sets, in that order: Shipwreck island - my first pirate set BSB - first and best pirate ship Broadsides brig - my first bluecoat set Eldorado fortress - best non-ship set from pirates line Caribean Clipper - one and only bluecoat ship But that's strictla personal. I didnt even know about redcoats, Islanders, SES and other until few years ago when I started collecting Lego again.
  2. Black Seas Barracuda Imperial Flagship (10210) QAR Eldorado Fortress Imperial Trading post I might change QAR for SES when I see it in person (pictures can be deceiving)
  3. Few years ago I was in difficult position: standing in a Lego shop and deciding between Cafe Corner and Market street. I only had money for one and chose (of course) Cafe Corner, which was, as I later found out, wrong. Just a few weeks later Market Street was of the shelves and the price had risen so much, that if I would buy 2 Market streets and just sell one, I could buy Cafe Corner (which in the store at least for next half of year if not more) AND Green Grocer fot that money. So, a good thing to do is to always buy sets which will be gone earlier. In above cese that would of course be Death Star (Dropship is, I think, not that kind of set which will atract a lot of people after it will be gone). Sets to get ASAP are (if you like them of course): Emerald NIght, Fire Brigade, Medieval Market Village, Death Star, Imperial Flagship and all Prince of Persia and Toy Story sets. Cargo Train will be also out soon (there is new one coming this fall)
  4. Biker's of course, at least from quick overview of instructions. It solves two of most troublesome features of sarafiel's design: too fast driving speed and too hard to control turning. It could however be posiible that biker's design needs more addtional bricks.
  5. Nice solution! Much better than Srafiels, because it has 1/3 reduction from XL for drive, XL motor is better fitted in and it uses simpler (and more tough) drive of steering LA. (in Sarafiel design it goes around whole back end of excavator and thru 4 universal joints).
  6. I paid most for my 8448 (120euro), but that's mainly because i was new to e-bay and I did not follow the rule to set you maximum price and never go above that. After that I paid 90 euro for my 8455 and I got all other larger technic sets for less than that (8880, 8480, 8868, 8285, 8297, 8466 etc...). I still have to find 8421 wcich is also among more expensive ones (I hope for price around 70-80 eur). 8868 in general is not so expensive set. I paid mine around 50 euro+pp and saw many bids endind in 60-70 euro range. So, it seems that my most expensive set will be new Unimog.
  7. It's most wanted minifigure from very rare set (Cloud City). It has printed legs AND arms, which was (and still is) unocommon for lego minifigure (now with collectable minifigs we are seeing more printed body body parts, but before that there were just a few. Besides that Boba Fett is very favorite character both in SW and Lego fan worlds and even non-cloud city versions have high prices on BL (that probably changed a little with last years Slave 1). It's pure market logic: many poeple want it and few have it. Many are probalby also in hands of Bricklink resellers which are holding onto them as sort of uinvestment and are keeping them on their BL stores with very high prices in hope that they will find someone who will be willing to pay such high price. I checked on BL and it only confirmed what I wrote above: the cheapest complete cloud city boba is 178 usd and this seller has 3 of them. Besides that there are just two more on whole bricklink (plus another without legs).
  8. What about pulling power and constant output? Does it allow larger output current? I know its not so important on single motor setups, but if you have dual motors (train or even PF XL ones in technic setups) then maybe it would make some difference.
  9. Why dont you call it with a real name: Zadar? Otherwise its excellent creation. I wish I could have time, bricks and talent for something like that.
  10. There are two kinds of "exclusive" sets in LEGO world: one are 10XXX sets which are available just in TLG brand shops and over internet (and are usually of higher quality and price then normal sets) and the other one are so called "TRU" sets, which are "normaly detailed and priced sets, but are for marketing reasons (so they can have "limited edition" sticker) available just in selected shops. Those set usually dont appear in general retailers catalogue and are usully "late surprises", like it was with bank and police chase sets this year. I think that it was already stated that 3677 is another such set and its logical that it dont appear in common reatilers catalogue.
  11. IMO you have to have at least one corner building, otherwise it will look strange with side exposed.
  12. 10221 will most probably be SW themed set.
  13. I agree. I have the original and even now it still looks good. It was way ahead of its time as civilian building among all those grey-black military based ones.
  14. It's interesting how discussion about this train stopped after it was revealed that it will be much more expensive than we all thought. I think that it will be the same with sales. For same amount of money 7939 look much better (it has tanker, LEGO container and crane), while 3677 is just service train, with no need for more then one of each wagons (except coal wagon)
  15. This is called PWM. It's used a lot because analog parts (like reostats) are not needed.
  16. OK, TLG just saved me 120 euro (which I was will to pay for 3677). I was just thinkig how there are a lot of trains this year and how will I get money for all, but now this problem is gone, because there is no way I would buy 3677 for 170 euro. I'd rather buy another copy of 10219 to make proper long train AND PF parts for it.
  17. Well, I could be wrong (I surely hope so).
  18. Nice review, but unfortunately I really dont like this set. It's not what I would buy to son, ever. The bike is way oversized and minifig looks like some twisted nazi and I think that should be out of bounds for Lego.
  19. TRU exclusive. That means that it also be available in some other stores (depending on the country), but not in all, like other lego sets. For our country (slovenia) that usually means Muller and some online shops, but not major store chains. That annoying, because those mayor store chains usualy have large discounts and those "exclusive" ones don't. Generally, I think that those shops which today have bank transfer and police chase will also have this new train.
  20. Well, I know that zblj's "Avenger" is made out of two 8049 sets (with a lot of other part like springs, links, gears, motors andetc...).Green colour matches perfectly with wheels from RC racer. I also have two copies (bought one and got other one for free)and I hate official models, but parts are not that bad for filling you technic collection. Amd you get brand new pneumatics (I have emotional connection to it from mychildhood and I sgtill lke, even if it's lost a lot of charm with arrival of PF parts).
  21. In that case it could be that catalog is just not including train sets, but in my case it has passenger train, station and level crossing, but, as I said, no cargo train. It's also without curved/straight rails, but we not that those are out for some time. Anyway, I still hope that cargo train will stay for at least a year and a half, as it is supposed to be (i still have to buy it, but the price is not allowing me for the moment). A also think that this new repair train is somwhere similar to last year tranportation center. It's a mix of trains and city tranportation themem and it will most probably be TRU exclusive. I hope that they will also keep the price down. 100 eur for that train would be fair price, but it still remains to be seen what kind of configuration it will be: option 1: train with just battery box (it has to be includede even if other motorised parts are not, because it's structural part of locomotive. Price around 80 euro would be nice for that (similar to HP train os TS3 train) option 2: train with battery box, motor and receiver, but without remote or tracks (that would work as cheap addition to 7938 or 7939). Price would be around 100 euro (I hope it will be this option, because I already have enough remotes and tracks) option 3: same as option 2, but with added remote (less likely option). Price should be around 110 euro) optionn 4: complete solution, with train, all PF parts and tracks. Price should be somewhere between 7938 and 7939 and thats 140.150 euro (it more complex then 7938, but wihout additionla feautures which 7939 has (crane, truck and two switches)
  22. I have latest LEGO catalog and I just noticed that 7939 is not listed anymore. Could it be that 3677 is replacing it?
  23. Isnt it supposed to be called "Bugatti"? Which is it, EB110 or Veyron? (I can not tell from pictures)
  24. CC came in october 2007 MS also in october 2007 GG in march 2008 (just 6 months later) FB in september 2009 (18 months later) GE in march 2010 (again just 6 months later) So, according to this we are again due for larger, 18 month period. That would mean september 2011 release (and if I recall correctly there were some informations about august 2011 presentation)
