LOTR & The Hobbit 2013 Set Discussion

I would really like to see good pictures...- 7,499 replies

For me it's a huge step back from Kingdoms and also from the fantasy lines, I'm not crazy about the minifigs as well and I'm also tired of catapults. I will not buy these sets and save money for some LOTR.

I took a look at the pictures and my first impression is that they are disappointing. I hope I will change my mind.

It's the best set LEGO has ever made.

Nice vignette. If LEGO does Game of Thrones I would buy everything and then retire. But it will never happen. I'm planning a partial Harrenhall MOC.

Lego Mirkwood Elf Guardian Polybag @ Toys R us
Albero - BEL replied to sgtbernalcl25's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Hei, I am from Europe but my sister in law lives in the USA. Is there a US website where I can order it online and ship it to her? Thank you in advance. -
Well. New unexpected LEGO castle sets is exciting by default. To be honest I would have preferred a reinnassance theme, as some people suggested, than another castle and gate and military scenes.Just imagine a LEGO theme like Anno 1404... On the other hand, new castle sets are welcome. I hope they make them really good though, because the intra-competition by the next wave of LOTR will be strong.

Sounds really exciting. But I need a new house to store all these lego...

If I just think about how much I dislike Disney "Pirate of the Caribbeans".... I'm really really scared about new Star Wars movies. I'm pretty skeptical. In the years I became more honest with myself and ended up in judging the episodes I, II, III horrible. I don't see how the next episodes from disney could be different and less childish.

Do you know if the videogame LEGO Lord of the Rings will be published also for PC and be available with services like Steam?

Oh my god and look how tall is that building compared to the Helm's Deep! I also have the impression to see an ENT! [/url]

Hei. I would buy your Edoras set straight away and your Boromir is better than the LEGO official version. Congratulations
-
I will definetly buy a helm deep set and uruk hai army. I don't care about the catapult and I have already in mind some changes to the helms deep. The detail that convinced me to buy the helm deep are the brick-built walls. So thanks a lot TLC!

The sets look to me disappointing. But I hope everything is preliminary and when they will come out I will change my mind. Minifigs are certainly better than the sets, even if not so impressive in general (Gandalf and the hobbits don't look special to me, I don't like Boromir).

New Lego 10223 Kingdoms Joust Exclusive
Albero - BEL replied to I Scream Clone's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Great set. I'll buy it being a castle fan. They shouldn't have published the first picture which is misleading. It is misleading also about the price: I think that the MMV for 99eur does worth much more than the joust for 119eur... Thanks for the black falcon and - if this is the end of the kingdoms line - go ahead with the romans, LEGO! -
If the stop Kingdoms to have a LOTR series... I don't have anything against... ;)
-
It is really an amazing creation. I love all the details and how you were able to put them all in such a small space. Furthermore, it really gives the "action" feeling. Congratulations.
-
These set are really really nice. not 10/10 for me but more interesting than 2010 ones for sure.

Medieval Fantasy World Collaboration
Albero - BEL replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
The whole landscape is amazing but the thing that really caught my eye is, surprisingly, the small outpost-castle in the market. It's sweet and well done and it could be a perfect LEGO-set. -
A civilian battle pack (if we are speaking about a good quality one) could be a very nice idea. A big UCS castle in minifig scale for around 150 euros has been the dream of castle fans for a long long time.

One of the reason why I am not 100% convinced by the mill set is that the first impression it gave me was a bit a copy-paste of the City farm set 7637 from an architectural point of view, I would have preferred a bigger mill than that huge building that doesn't appear so much "medieval". A "good" thing is that the set is not too big and the price cannot be crazy.
