  1. I have resubmitted this to BDP Series 10. I have been much too busy, and also just unmotivated to do any changes, so it is exactly the same as before. There are a couple of things I wouldn't mind to do to improve/change it, but as I said, I had no time and motivation. EKnight
  2. Mine has now shipped! Eknight
  3. Mine has made the change as well. Won't be long now! Eknight
  4. A wonderful clean build! It could use some minifigs on it to liven it up a but, but otherwise it is suburb. Well done! Eknight
  5. When i checked earlier this afternoon, mine was still "in progress" as well. Eknight
  6. The pictures are a bit grainy, but from what I can see, these are excellent MOCs! The sails especially are stunning. Just need a redcoat ship to do battle with! The red one is especially hard to make out any details. EKnight
  7. I could have gone with black, but the model felt to dark and drab, the brown helps brighten it up a bit, even if it is riskier in the long run because of, you know, brown. Matching the aesthetics of prefab hulls was one of my main goals, so I am glad it's appreciated! EKnight
  8. Mine is still in progress, while my brother's Transylvania should be arriving tomorrow. Eknight
  9. Someone is going to have to buy two sets and build a full ship. Eknight
  10. Technically I do, but I have never used it. Eknight
  11. Thanks for all your support! Eknight
  12. That was a big factor in my design. I told myself I wanted to keep my part count below 2000, and I fully succeeded in that. Eknight
  13. (Shameless plug) Voting is live! I may be a couple days behind. I have been busy and have a family, ok? Here is the link to go vote: (Shameless plug) https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-9/3305/Merchant-Ship And some more images too! Just the same ones used in the submission process: EKnight.
  14. Thanks! I wouldn't say my version is full of play features. But it is fun to sail across the table! Eknight
  15. Lots of Pirate options this time, and quite a few good ones. Not a lot of actual ships, which is good for me, I guess. Eknight
  16. It is currently a mixture of reddish brown and dark brown, mostly reddish brown. I would have to acquire more dark brown if I go that route. Thank you! I do not have any plans to release any instructions , sorry. Eknight
  17. Honestly not really. I normally work with prefab hulls, that gave me pause when i first began the process. In the end it gave me a lot more freedom. The biggest issue I ran across was actually minifigs, not a lot of pirate options. Eknight
  18. I have officially submitted this now! EKnight
  19. Same. Ever since this was announced I had bern saving my points. Got my 450 CDN down to 300. Eknight
  20. Well I placed my order. Should arrive just in time for Talk Like a Pirate Day, which would be a fitting day to build it. EKnight
  21. Thank you! I updated the first post with a comparison picture of all 4 versions. The deck is a mixture, though I am debating if I want to go all dark brown, like a recently posted MOC on the forum. Thank you! I'll try to take a picture of the inner workings of the cabin to showcase the angles. I'll give you a hint: It would never pass on an official set. Thank you, I am very pleased with how my sails turned out. I agree Lego's version failed in that aspect. The rest is superb, and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. EKnight
  22. Ahoy me hearties, I come to you with me latest version of Captain Jack Sparrow Hector Barbosa Jack Sparrow's Pirate ship! I wanted to complete it before the pictures leaked, and I did, I just never got around to finishing the sails. I wasn't too happy with what I came up with at first, and really put off remaking them until I saw LEGO's new one. The sails not looking right are my biggest grip with 10365, and with a lot of ship MOCs (My own especially) Version 4 probably looks a lot like my version 3, and in some ways it is. But extending it 8 studs, or one hull section, meant I had to completely rebuild almost the entire ship. The cabin was actually changed on it's own before I extended the hulls, and I did that back when 10365 was first rumored to be coming. Another big thing I did was add dark brown molting to the hull, and I think it really looks sharp, help break up the solid black, and helps sell the look that the ship is burnt wood. Once again, there is no detailed interior, though the ability to put one there kinda exists. I just don't like doing interiors, ok? A comparison shot of my Black Pearl MOCs over the years: Let me know what you think! EKnight
  23. Well, one things for sure, the GWP compass is as functional as the real one. EKnight
  24. As I anticipated, us Canadians have to pay $450. I shudder to think what a Dutchmen would actually cost. Eknight
