I am blown away. Gorgeous work. You truly captured the essence of a Parisian building. I would've thought of Paris with out any mention of the locale beforehand.

[MOC] USS Poseidon - Minifig Scale First Rate Ship of the Line
pogie replied to shiplover's topic in Pirate MOCs
Noticed your "Anatomy of the Ship" book lying on the table. Such great reference books. I have the Bellona and Pandora. Thanks for the close up pics, the detailing is excellent. Are stern chasers on the lower deck accurate? I had always pictured them on the poop deck. Most of what I know of these ships is from reading Aubrey/Maturin over and over and they don't spend much time on first rates. -
[MOC] USS Poseidon - Minifig Scale First Rate Ship of the Line
pogie replied to shiplover's topic in Pirate MOCs
Very nice work. Tbh I did not know that the US navy ever sailed any first rates. Most of what you read about the early navy concerns the original heavy frigates, Constitution et al. I'll have to do some more reading I guess. -

Love this moc! The staggered corners are awesome. I have been mulling log cabin techniques for a while but this blows me away. Very nice work.

Nice write up. Upon pulling my childhood legos out, I was disappointed to find out that I had though it a great idea to draw on them with permanent marker. Apparently "Six Flags Shooting Gallery" was a hot idea for a moc to my 8 yr old brain.

Some of these sets look fantastic! Not sure if I can stomach more Johnny Depp.

Lego polybags, lord of the rings and cmf for sale
pogie replied to adreva11's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
How much would it be for all of the roman soldiers shipped to the US? Sorry I tried to pm you but I just joined the forums and I guess I can not use that feature yet. -
Wow! Nicest Deco moc I can recall. Fantastic work.

My main complaint about the set is after I put it together my main thought was "wow, $80 for this?". The set just felt very insubstantial for the money. Maybe I just don't like paying the premium for licensed sets. Lotr is the first licensed theme I have really had an interest in and maybe my expectations were too high. Tolkien's world in both books and movies has such an epic scale that perhaps I was bound to be disappointed. I would love to see some large high dollar sets like they have done with SW.

Worst value of any Lego set I have purchased. I built it in less than 30 minutes. I think lego wanted to have a cool molded cave troll and then threw the rest of the set together as an afterthought while still keeping their margins in mind. As a huge fan of Lotr and Lego this set was a disappointment at best.

Wow, fantastic work. I particularly like the mace. -
Amazing work. I never realized tugs had so much mass below waterline. Makes sense but never thought about it before I saw this.
