  1. "Aye," Mortimer mutters, scowling. "I don't trust them. That's why I signed up. Travel safe, Hybros."
  2. Mortimer returns to the hall, glancing around to try to spy familiar faces. He heads over to the questboard-- and his eye widens in surprise as he notices that the Crimson Crown posted a quest. He hastily signs up, curious about the order he has run into twice now-- not sure of their motives and not sure if he can trust their quest. Em Signs up for Quest 140: Requiem for a Machine.
  3. OOC: Those gloves are yours if you want them-- you're an artisan and you'll actually get use out of them.
  4. So, Quest 129. What can I say? It was a four-month quest that felt like it breezed by. It was fun. The battles were really fun; we had a bit of an overpowered party, but the battles still felt dangerous-- at least to me. It was great seeing familiar faces and meeting a few new NPCs; I have to say that I really liked... well, all of them, really. I especially like Knife-tongue, even though I sometimes had trouble discerning what he was saying. Giuliana and Volmuniix were great, too. It was an incredibly enjoyable quest, and I'm almost sad to see it end. I wish I had something more concrete to say, but I'll have to stick with point-form highlights for now: - The puzzles were fun and not too challenging. I liked ours; I'm interested to see the other one. - I mean I mentioned it before but I'll mention it again-- all the NPCs were great, both ally and enemy. - The quest flowed very well? It was very well-structured, and the visions added a lot of depth to it. It felt good. - That last battle felt really epic. Four months is a long time and I'm sure there's more I could say, but those four things are what really stuck with me and things I wanted to point out that I think you did great with. As far as player analysis, I enjoyed playing with you all. I always love questing with Hybros-- I see Hybros as one of Em's friends, someone he can trust and enjoys questing with-- and I think you're a great PL. Of course, I'm always happy to have Guts on my team, too, as it usually means we're going to win-- especially when coupled with Hoke. You guys are too strong. It was great questing with Dyric, Erik, and Thalion, too. I didn't interact with you guys as much, and maybe I should have, but you were great to have along. It's a real shame Mizuki disappeared, because they missed an honestly great quest. So, all things considered: Thank you all for the amazing quest, and an especially big thank-you to you, too, CMP. It was a great time, and I'm glad you brought me along.
  5. "If Guts is taking the Balanced Rapier, I'll take the Balanced Main-Gauche. Thank you, Captain." Em turns to his questmates, bowing his head to them, too. "And thank you. It was nice to fight alongside you again, Hybros; it was good to fight alongside the rest of you, too." He glances around again, not wanting to linger. He had much to think about after the results of his past few quests. He holds in a sigh. Perhaps he'd sign up for another quest right away; he didn't really want to think. "Aye, I think it's about time we head back. Best of luck, all of you. May the wind be in your wings, Giuliana, Volmuniix; and may the wind be ever in the Magpie's sails." With one last raise of his shield and his hand, Mortimer boards the lifeboat, ready to leave. Thank you for hosting an amazing quest, CMP! That was wonderful. I'll try to form coherent thought in the QM lounge later, but I must say now that it was overwhelmingly good.
  6. "It was an honour fighting beside you, Giuliana, Volumniix, Illdria," Mortimer nods, smiling somewhat bitterly. "And you, Melvin. It was good seeing you again. It seems you're in good hands." Mortimer squints in the distance, trying to follow the ruins of the Apocalypse; he lost sight of it long ago. He sighs, rubbing at his left cheekbone-- just below his eyepatch. "The last thing I needed was more wannabe Gods to worry about, though."
  7. Mortimer attacks Kjorfalneire from the Back Row with Erdy's Handcannon.
  8. Mortimer fires Erdy's Handcannon at Lich Swarm A from the Back Row after being raised, scowling.
  9. Mortimer fires at Melville with Erdy's Handcannon from the Back Row.
  10. Em attacks Sicarii Squad C from the back row with Erdy's Handcannon.
  11. Mortimer, rather shaken at the being that stabbed Melville and yet another front of the battle, can't help but grin toothily as Deathbell and Volmuniix come swooping to the party's rescue. He felt rejuvenated, especially now that victory was within their grasp. "You're a sight for sore eyes," he yells over the pouring rain, turning back towards the battle and readying Erdy's handcannon. "What'll it be, Hybros?"
  12. Mortimer attacks Sicarii squad B with Erdy's Handcannon from the Back Row.
  13. Mortimer changes targets to the Sicarii.
  14. Mortimer attacks the Moon Elf Corpse Legion A with Erdy's Handcannon from the Back Row.
  15. Em fires at Novice Legion A from the Back Row with Erdy's Handcannon.
  16. Em changes targets, firing Erdy's Handcannon at the Sicarii from the Back Row.
  17. Mortimer fires Erdy's Handcannon at Crimson Novice Legion A from the Back Row. He snarls, head flicking back and forth, his blind spot obviously more than worrying him in such a large-scale battle on three fronts.
  18. Mortimer fires at the Chemists with Erdy's Handcannon from the Back Row.
  19. "It's been an honour, Captain," Mortimer replies, readying his weapons. "Let's not keep Melville waiting."
  20. I think Regulator looks like a really cool class, and I'd love to try it out, too-- especially since I think I've got decent equipment for it, especially with Doppelganger. So many cool classes, so little availability...
  21. I plan on going Marauder as soon as I can, but my gear's not exactly the best for it right now.
  22. Mortimer nods, ready. He was anxious to get underway.
  23. Mortimer sneaks a glance at Guts and Hoke, hoping the pair didn't expect him to have good enough eyesight to watch for rocks. He hefts his shield and his handcannon, though, nodding. "She won't get a scratch."
  24. Because each class should have individual Strengths and Drawbacks. Dragoon's biggest drawback if you had to level a dragon would be just that-- the dragon has to level up as well, and you need to commit to the class in order to get really strong in it. Which, originally, was part of the class' thematic. The strength would be that a high-level dragon would be a strong companion that's basically an extra party member "for free." No ether cost to have a dragon summoned or anything. A strong dragon would be earned, which, again, was part of the class' original theme. We should probably take this over to the Expert Job Class Discussion Topic, though, yeah? If you wanna talk about it a bit, that is. Nobody said a level 1 dragon would have to be the same as a level 1 hero. I said if they leveled up in a similar way, it would make more sense and be a more sound game mechanic, in my opinion. A base health of 30, which is what they are now, and a decent base Power/power bonus with a steady gain per level.
  25. I feel like a bit of an idiot, because I'm sure a mechanic like this was talked about and thought about, but If Dragoon, or, specifically, the Dragon's level being based on the Dragoon's level is an issue, then can we not just have Dragons level up themselves? When you get into the class, your dragon is level 1 and it grows in a similar way to a hero? I suppose implementing that rule would be a little bit unfair for current dragoons, and certainly harder to implement (because we'd have to go back and calculate), but in the long run it might save us a lot of trouble-- especially if there are players who are irked by the class. Which is understandable-- It makes sense to me that Dragoon should be something someone sticks with in order to "raise their dragon" and is rewarded for committing to the class. I think that adds to the whole deal of "raising your dragon" and "building a bond," and with tweaks, the class could probably scale a lot better, too.
