  1. that's exactly what I wanted, but with more antlers, unfortunately it seems like he's just devolved into a beast himself. I'm very disappointed to say the least, seeing as umarak the hunter is one of my favorite g2 sets, I was looking forward to an upgrade. Oh well, I could always moc one up.Then again I really should wait until the toy fair for better and more final pictures. We'll see.
  2. I'm forever going to be envious of how much character you manage to get into every one of your mocs, nice work as always.
  3. I have no idea what this year's beasts will look like, probably nothing like this, I'm just using this because I'm terrible with naming things. Oh, and about those times I talked bad about ccbs? I take it all back. Building this was great. Apologies for my subpar photography, I'll be the first to admit it's not my best quality. This was built with 99% 2015 sets, with two t bars to connect the thumbs the only exceptions. The gear function works here, although it can clash with the wings sometimes. Speaking of, ccbs parts lend themselves perfectly to this kind of thing, even if they're nothing special here. Oh and I built this takanuva kinda thing alongside it, but nobody is here for that. So that's what I got, comments? Criticism?
  4. that's really interesting, makes me wonder what bionicle would've looked like should it have continued, and introduced ccbs. Picked up umarak a few days ago, I'm liking it. Like others have said, the legs are kinda odd, but other than that I really enjoy it. Looking forward to seeing what the destroyer form will look like.
  5. Gattling gun puppy. Genius. I like araun, but I think this little guy steals the show. It's just a great little design, especially in the head. Nice work.
  6. I'm not getting all the hate for this set, it's expensive sure, almost every star wars set is. It seems like a fine little ship to me.
  7. "I miss the bent neck" -onua mata, reviving bionicle ep.5 I'm in the camp that liked the 2015 version, and I kinda miss the burly and stout onua with this one, it's definitely not bad, probably one of the most solid toa this year, just not quite how I would've liked it done. Still a fine set however.
  8. I'm still not a huge fan, but I do like the new pohatu more than other toa from this wave. I think maybe changing the tan in his legs to orange, and put the tan shells in place of the green on his arms would be a major improvement. Might have to try that. I'm not fond of the weapon though, a staff thing with a blade on one side and a rock dangling from a chain on the other? Ok then. I'll take the boomerangs. Also not Into the unity thing, especially with this one. But that's not a big deal as I don't really care for ketar. I don't take any issue with the mask, and don't see how it's feminine, it's a mask. Maybe pohatu is just more in touch with his feminine side and is cool with that. Also the technic arms don't bother me as much here as they did on kopaka. Still a little wierd, but not that bad. But overall not to bad, definitely could've had some improvements like the eye searing lower arms and odd weapon, but much better than some of the other toa this wave has to offer I think.
  9. The force awakens, I suspect we're going to see that a lot in this thread. I enjoyed it.
  10. This guy is a freak. I love it. The antlers, the colors, the chains, the weapons even, it looks great to me. The legs do look a bit odd, and the mask of control I don't like too much. Also I'm glad that the trend of using yellow parts for functions is done with. It was never a big deal to me, but I do think the sets benifit from it. If I pick up any of the 2016 sets, Umarak will be the one. Eager to see if the destroyer form will top it.
  11. Well, I'll start with what I like. Kopaka's mask is great, the crystal look really works here and the stud part is a really nice touch. The sword is pretty cool looking, better than this year's spear I think. The gun is ok, but I prefer my kopaka with a shield. Melum is neat I guess. The new torso function is cool, but the shell is just a little bit overkill. Don't get me wrong, I've got nothing against greebles, but damn. That's a lot. The colors themselves are nice, but the actual distribution of colors... Yeah so the bad stuff. The colors are just all over the place. Dark blue, white, and gold can look very good together, but the way it's done plus the silver it's just ugh. It really kills it for me. And those wierd arm plus shoulder contraption, not a huge fan. And the unity thing, I'm not really sold yet. It works great with tahu, lewa, and gali. However I don't think Kopaka, pohatu, and onua fare as well. But one thing goes for all of them, and that's I really don't like how the creature head looks on top of the mask. But this is all just my opinion of course. I like kopaka more than some of the others, but it's just ehh.
  12. Read some of Richard Dawkins: the god delusion. I find it very interesting, however it is controversial to anyone deeply invested in its topic, so I won't go on about it much. Just if you are interested in topics like theology and skepticism, I'd say it's worth a shot.
  13. Metallica: "one" Also honorable mentions to lamb of god: "embers" And cryoshell: "bye bye babylon"
  14. Surprised to see no mention of lamb of god considering their status, love their new album and can't wait to see the with anthrax in January. I really like thrash stuff like anthrax, Metallica, testament, and so on. Also dabble into some of the heavier stuff like kalmah, lamb of god, norther, etc sometimes. I like some glam metal too, dispite how cheesy some of it is.
  15. Mocing with the new torso before it's even out. Nice. I like the look, I feel like the skellie torso is a little out of place IMO, but overall I dig it.
  16. The red axles were never a huge deal to me, but I certainly welcome the return of the black ones. Nice touch.
  17. I agree here. And ouch, those comparisons are rough. And kopaka was the one that I liked out of the new toa. What is up with the colors? I like the new mask and torso, but those technic arms look awful when compared to kopaka 15, and like others have said, I don't think the new crystal thingie and the technic shell work that well together. That's not to say either is real bad, but together, ehh.
  18. I've come to accept blue and red pins as a necessary evil, but yellow axles would be pushing it. Hoping they don't take over as well. We've already got a nice system for axles, black for even (beside the 2 length red) and grey for odd.
  19. I'm still digging Umarak despite the wonky legs, probably the first I'll pick up. And kopaka and onua look pretty good, (dat mask on kopaka man) but other then tahu and a couple creatures I'm still getting a meh kinda vibe. Pohatu color scheme is awfully done, lewa isn't as bad, but still not that great. Colors are ok for gali, but build wise I don't like it too much. Overall I'm not overly impressed, but I don't hate them either. I'll definitely be picking up Umarak and kopaka, and maybe a couple others, but not the whole wave like I did this year. (Then again I didn't plan on buying all of the new toa initially, yet here I am with almost every set of the year. Oops. )
  20. What if this is a bad case of "be careful what you wish for" many wanted more technic involved before the 2015 prelims came out (I might have been one of them), and even after the sets came many were dissatisfied because of "hero factory parts". So now here's that wish granted with more technic, and it's... well, I'm not thrilled. I think the 2015 forms were better, but I'll warm up to these eventually.
  21. The video is amusing, however kopakas upside-down chest armor bothers me more than it should.
  22. Spooky scary skeletons, the metal edition. (hate to break the nice trend of all the videos being embedded, but mobiles)
  23. Yeah, I'm a little late to the party with LoSS, as many have already done mods, but better late than never I guess. So here it is. I tried to match it up with the skull gang by using some of the new parts while retaining the function, to varied success. It still works with the added reinforcement of an extra rubber band, but the posable legs do make it more difficult to grab something. A size comparison, not quite as tiny anymore. And the abdomen, I like how the gunmetal add ons shape up, and the texture kinda gives a fur vibe like a tarantula. Although how LoSS got ahold of those chains I don't know. I have a couple extra photos on my flickr over here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/105286035@N05/ They're a little bit of a pain to embed because I have to manually put in the code as my phone is my only computer at the time, so you'll have to put out the enormous effort to click the link to see more amateur photography. So that's my take on the spider lord, any comments are appreciated.
  24. I had seen that, I guess they're selling pretty well, although my lego store is still fully stocked with the whole line. No need for me to worry as I picked up all 6 protectors from there the other day.
  25. As much as I'd love that, it's too good to be true.
