    Jeaux watched silently as the party picked through the remains of the homestead. This was hardly an adequate shelter from which to plan their next moves and there was little to gain from remaining here for much longer.

    Jeaux caught the object and looked it over. At first glance he did not see any means of interacting with the device. No levers or buttons to speak off. "Haven't seen anything like it before. It may be nothing more than a toy or paperweight." Jeaux tossed the item back to Johon in the event he wanted a second look at it. "Perhaps we should head north, if anything has survived in this village it would most likely be in the most sturdy structure. That the cathedral is still standing is a good sign that we may find something useful there or at the very least some solid walls to break the wind chill. It sounds like the little one may be in need of a warmer shelter."

Jeaux scanned the buildings for any that may provide some shelter from the storm, should the party need a place to stop and regroup.

    OOC: Putting it to sleep will also protect everyone from damage or special damage until someone deals a successful attack. That's why Jeaux has a conditional to attack only if he is asleep.

    OOC: If the Ameoboss is still asleep Jeaux decides to try out the ruby Karie had lent him. He clutches the crystal in his hand and visualizes the heat and volatility of fire. A ball of flame erupts in his palm and as he shifts his focus to the enemy, He launches the fire spell at the Ameoboss from the back row, watching it arc through the air towards his foe. OOC: If the Ameoboss is awake Jeaux points at the Ameoboss's form again directing his insect companion to distract him. Turdwing flies a loop around it, while Jeaux watches from the back row OOC: New summon order (Pyro Armor, Lightning Armor, Paladin Armor, Demon Armor)

    OOC: I placed Em at the front of the battle order so in the worst case scenario, none of the 3 free hits will be fatal. I could have Masson cover it though with a conditional. Jeaux wasn't sure what walking buffets there were in his briefcase, but the speech pattern of this fly often confused him. He points a hand at the monster's left arm. If Johon hasn't managed to extract that tusk, see what you can do with it."

    Once again Jeaux's limp form falls to the deck like a puppet whose strings had been cut. Inside the hunk of wood and metal he can almost feel his connection to this plane wavering, an pull on his spirit like a noose attempting to drag him away. OOC: If Jeaux is raised this round Jeaux tries yet again to electrify the right claw OOC: I'll post a battle order later today after a few more people have had a chance to post their actions.

    I think it should definitely be done if the puzzle prevents a fight, beyond that it would probably be on a case by case basis. One option would be a PM system where each party member can submit a possible solution within a certain time-limit so multiple people can submit the solution to the puzzle, but that would limit party collaboration on some puzzles. It is an interesting problem to try and solve. Also, I really like the current puzzle but I think if I built a gear mechanism to open a door, the gear ratio would go the opposite direction. A 1:20 ratio would require a decent bit of torque to open a door with any significant mass and it would probably open the door much faster than necessary.

    I bought the special edition pokemon yellow gameboy when I was in 8th grade. That was my first non-PC gaming console. I think I sill have it stashed somewhere around the house.
