I've been looking to get QM'd under new people, since all I ever seemed to do was go on Endgame quests. I'd love to go on a quest of yours, Flipz!
-
So new heroes basically all go through the same tutorial level? Where's the fun in that for both the QM and the new players? Why can't new heroes be given the same treatment level 30 heroes get?
-
The gap is not the issue. People who've played for the five+ years this game has been active are not the problem this game faces. It's a problem, but not as big as you claim. The issue this game has is a lack of incoming players and a lack of QMs. We need fresh blood or this game dies. We need people to invest into the world, and the way you do that is by making the plot as easy to jump into as possible. A sequel game isn't going to win anyone over, because it's basically Heroica 2.0. Same plot. Same world. Same backstory as before, now just X-amount of years in the future with the extra baggage of the previous instalment. Like Historica, and I don't want this to turn into Historica. Making a sequel's alienating two audiences, the original players who invested time into the game and now have to play new characters, and new players who feel like joining a sequel to a game with years worth of narrative, all of which is intersecting, are going to feel alienated and lost. Wrap up the house war, and start creating some new arcs while ending up old ones. Tell potential new players that Heroica is entering a new era of the game, and that now is an excellent time to jump in. I do agree with having an advertisement, though. That'd hopefully go a long way to get people interested.

My suggestion would be to advertise that Heroica's longest story arc has just ended, and that now's an excellent time to jump on in. People who might've felt alienated with the game's long arcs and plots might be a little more open to trying the game if they knew that major plot lines have just wrapped up and that now's an excellent time to jump in.

Glad to see things will hopefully be returning to normal! Heres to our new Councillors!

Pixar Animation Studios and Films Discussion

I think the reason the Cars 3 trailer was present the way it was to get people talking. I sure as heck know that the moment it went up people were talking about how mature that trailer was. I'm actually pretty curious to see where this goes, and I'm glad the studio seems to want to present the next movie as an actual continuation of the plot and not "Larry the Cable Guy/Car Does Shenanigans: The Movie". Sure, it's a Cars movie, but I have a bit of hope for this one. Also, holy smokes the rendering in that trailer was ridiculously good.- 279 replies

I was going to say that the tunnel looks out of place, but I guess you proved an age old model railroading saying: "The real railroad did it first." Needless to say, it's a lovely looking tunnel! I love the masonry work design as well as the wing usage. It's very nicely done!

"Well, I suppose we agree on one thing." Karie nodded back civilly. She still hated Dyric and what he and Thothwick forced upon her, a decision she ultimately partook in. It had been years. Thothwick and Dyric's betrayal was years ago. She thought on her own past, and the act she pulled with the Syndicate. Was that any worse off than what Dyric did? She still felt hurt after what he did. It gave context to her own betrayal, and it made her feel even more guilty. She simmered over her drink as she turned her attention elsewhere. She stood up and headed for the doors of Heroica Hall, bundling herself up as she left. --- The doors to Heroica Hall opened broadly as Annienal returned, with a steaming mug of cocoa in her armoured hands. She blew on it gently before ascending the steps to the bar. She grabbed a seat and took of her helmet, her cheeks rosy from the cold. She quickly began taking brief sips of her drink, attempting to warm herself up.
-
"Oh, sorry, you must of misheard me. I said I'm glad to know the hall will never run dry of mead." Karie retorts with a wry smile, surprised Dyric heard her. She returns to her drink, lifting it in a mocking toast, laughing to herself.
-
"Glad to know you think so highly of me." Karie muttered moodily under her breath before taking a large swig of the drink she toasted with earlier.
-
"Baba's dead? Good riddance." Karie states, raising a glass to the homecoming heroes. "Never met the woman myself, but from what I heard she was nothing but bad news. Glad to hear the world's a little bit safer."
-
"Eh, no problem. I've forgotten folks as well." Karie remarks, waving her hands. "250 gold, eh... yeah, I can do 250 gold." Karie adds the extra coins before handing 250 gold over to Pretzel (1827-250=1577 gold). She takes the Demonic Fiddle and begins to tune it. "My appreciation, Pretzel."
-
"No, we've met before. I distinctly remember speaking to you about demons and other things, although in terms of questing together, that's another story." Karie carefully lifts up the fiddle, looking it over, her fingers running over the instrument. It's smokey maroon wood had a singed smell to it as Karie inspected the fiddle closer. She tunes it, playing a quick and jaunty couple of notes. She could feel an unnatural warmth rise from the instrument as she played. "It's nice. It's really nice. How does 200 gold sound?"

We could always restart the hall page. Hall page one (old hall page, have it locked) and hall page two (the current, and new hall page). That's how I see it at least.

Shield's don't count as artifacts. They're simply an additional item Knights and their sub-classes get to use. So if you're level fifteen and go Berserker, you get two artifact slots, a weapon slot, and a shield slot for your character. Does this make sense?

Karie snagged the flute and handed the gold over (1907-80=1827 gold). "Pleasure doing business." She stated, nodding in appreciation. Before returning to her seat, Karie took a moment to write her own notice, placing it on the board. She returned to her seat and gingerly began inspecting her new purchase. -Your Minstrel Needs Your Help!- In order to ensure I'm at my peak game, I need Battle Songs. Your Battle Songs! I am willing to pay premium for any and all Battle Songs (assuming I already don't own it in my collection), as well as your unused Instruments. I'm willing to pay up to a minimum of 150 gold for each of your battle songs, and instruments on a case by case basis. If you have a Battle Song or instrument in your possession and have no interest in them, why not get something you can use and sell them to your local minstrel who has way to much money on her hands! Help me help you by selling me your Battle Songs and instruments! -Karie Alderflask-Cour

"Good to hear. I'm not sure how familiar you are with this sort of thing, but you'd get a spot on the playbill for being part of the production." Karie grinned. She forgot what it was like working in the theatre. It felt refreshing to return to a place she hadn't been in what felt like ages. "I can't say I've met Miderun before. Where's she now?" Karie noted the sign on the door and approached the figure who posted it before they left. "Excuse me, I couldn't help but notice the Nocturne Flute you had for sale. I'm willing to offer 80 gold for it. That sound fair?" Karie asked, jostling the coins in her hand.
-
"Well, I wanted something a little timely, and with this house debacle still simmering, I wanted to write something that would come onto the scene with a message of unity, and perseverance even through everything that's happened. I'm working on a small production based on the life of Tarokai, particularly covering him uniting the clans, how the orcs viewed him, and what ultimately happens to him and how history perceives him as what I consider a tragic figure." Karie's excitement seemingly overwhelms her as she gestures with her hands. "It's an idea at least. It's got a solid number of songs at least conceptual written, but they need words. I'm looking for a lyricist. Considering your heritage, would you consider assisting me? Also, did I say small production? I mean probably really big." Karie sternly looked over her shoulder and noticed the yeti. "We're not going to have any more issues, are we?"
-
"That's still no reason to shout." Karie responded. She turned her attention away from the yeti and back to Vindsval. "You'd be surprised what I can do." Karie grinned, although it quickly turned into a sheepish smile. "That was, um, not meant to be an innuendo... seriously though, do you know how many times I've fixed the doors to Heroica Hall?" As much as she felt off by it, Karie realized Vindsval was never going to stop calling her mistress. "Can't say it's one I've heard before. Then again, I can't say I've heard a lot about giant culture before I joined Heroica." Karie stated. She'd been looking for someone to collaborate with her on something. She didn't expect to find it in Vindsval. "It's been quiet these past few months. To be honest though, I've been really enjoying it. The fight against Immortalis put a lot of strain on me, and I've been wanting to find a way to spend my time doing something alongside looking after my daughter. So, I took some of that time and applied it to writing a small play with musical interludes. To be honest though, t's a bit... half cooked. Vind, how familiar are you with the theatre arts?" Karie asked inquisitively. Her lips curled up in a curious smile as she clasped her hands together and raised them closer to her face.
-
"If that's a request, in that case." Karie began to strum on her guitar, trying to add a bit of musical ambience to the hall. "Oi! Conduct yourself properly mate, or you'll find yourself with a guitar shaped indent on the side of your head." Karie barked back. She continued to play her guitar but keep an eye on the yeti.
-
"An excellent idea." Karie replied, ignoring Jinnipher's obvious and noted sarcasm. "You of all people should know where he is. Why don't you go fetch him for me?" Karie smirked.
-
Karie shuffled over to Vind, guitar in hand. "You make that tune up yourself? Can't say I've heard it before."

Because Thrawn doesn't want just the Ghost crew. He wants the entire rebel fleet. He's waiting for the precise moment when he can uproot the rebel cell and kill it in one fell swoop instead of multiple costly skirmishes, ones where he might not have full control over what happens.
-
Karie shook her head in denial. "I haven't heard of such individuals, or if I have, I haven't seen them in a while. I'm certain they're alive. I don't see any reason to believe otherwise. The name's Karie. Charmed to make your acquaintance."
-
Karie leaps over the chair and takes a seat in the cushions, surprised she hadn't been down to this section of the hall as often. "Yeah, the more I look at you the more I think I've seen you before as well. I don't believe we've formally met, though." Karie uncorked her wine bottle with her teeth, placing the cork in pocket. "As for the quest board being dry, I find it a nice change of pace, honestly. I've been doing this for enough that I find the act of relaxation a change of pace."
