  1. "Oh, well, um, I'd appreciate it, thanks. Although I didn't really get hurt, the ants' attacks still made it a little toasty in my armour." Annienal responds, taking her helmet off and wiping some sweat from her brow. She gives Darksten a surprised, but appreciative grin. She wasn't really used to this kind of behaviour from others. The only man she could think of doing something like this was Warlen, and it had been months since she had seen him last. "I'm, um, more of a cider person myself, but I doubt this establishment carries casks of the kind I prefer, so whatever's fine."
  2. Annienal had never heard of such an establishment before. She made her way inside, finding the emptiness of the inn off-putting. "Um... yes, we were hoping to stay the night." Annienal responds politely. "Is there any rooms available?"
  3. Annienal took her bombs, careful not to drop them. She looked at Althior dismayed as he headed for the inn. She took a moment to check to see if the inn had any signage indicating a name. She wasn't sure why the party leader was incredibly rude, especially after she managed to take most of the damage taken by the team. Looking herself over, she noticed scorch marks on her armour. She'd have to remedy that when she got inside. While looking over her armour, she noticed Darksten on the ground still. She moved over to him and lent an arm out to him, raising her visor in the process.
  4. Annienal strikes Firefly D from the front row using her Sapphire (Wind). "Are we, um, getting Darksten up?"
  5. Something people seem to have glossed over in the trailer: Will's face is covered in barnacles. When Davy Jones first became captain of the Flying Dutchman, his task was to ferry the souls of the dead to the afterlife aboard the Flying Dutchman. He eventually stopped ferrying the souls because... I honestly can't remember, but him and the crew of the ship took on a more perverse, aquatic look to them because of this, leading to Davy Jones' tentacle, fish look, along with the rest of the crew's monstrous appearance. If my logic is correct, this means Will hasn't been ferrying people to the other side, or maybe he can't ferry people to the other side due to Salazar's meddling.
  6. It was notorious for being in development hell for years. I have to admit that the animation preview looked really promising. The timing was spot on for the slapstick, and you can tell there was some real effort to ensure that it looked like an old Popeye cartoon, merely done with today's computer animation technology. I'd pay to go see a Popeye flick. The Emoji movie? Even saying it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
  7. Annienal, having successfully cast her spell, gets in front of the group with her shield at the ready. "I can, um, take most of their attacks. Continue to put me first in the battle order, Althior." Annienal strikes Firefly D from the front row.
  8. Annienal lowers her visor as the anthill explosion erupts. She readies her shield and holds her flagpole a little more confidently than usual, if only to try and show the older assassin she wasn't some "newbie". Insects? These she could handle. "If you put me first in the battle order Althior, I can keep some of the insects off of you." Annienal states, her thick armour gleaming off of insect's fire. "In the meantime, allow me a moment to cast this spell on my armour. If this works, I can take all of the damage these creatures throw at us." Annienal unfurls her Scroll of Fire Warding and casts the spell on herself.
  9. Annienal crossed her arms, Darksten's statement not helping mend any wounds. His words began making her doubt herself. Was she really that inexperienced? "Um, let's head out."
  10. "Um... no." Annienal replied, somewhat insulted by the question. She perhaps wasn't the most outspoken of the group, but to be asked if she was new to the adventuring business felt demeaning. Perhaps it was due to her being away from it all for what felt like forever. At least, that's what she hoped it was. "I've been in Heroica for about a year or two now. I've, um, slain a dragon and helped saved the town of Tridentia from pirates. Among other things." She hoped the accomplishments were enough to stave off anymore questions from the older looking
  11. "Um... not quite." Annienal responds. "Mainly, I'm wondering how the lumber was being transported from Bric'Lin to Eubric? Secondly, was there any accounts of what was attacking the carts? Men? Beasts? Something else, perhaps?" She pulls out her notebook and quill in anticipation of Obero's response.
  12. "Obero, sir, it's, um, a pleasure to see you again. I, um, hope things have been at least improving since our previous meeting?" Annienal wasn't sure why the others were hesitant to work with the Paladins or the Watch, but it seemed as if she had been thrusted into more than she initially expected. She was happy to see Obero again, if only because Obero seemed to hold his principals in high regard. She may not of agreed with Obero on everything, but he was a comfort in a sea of unfamiliarity.
  13. It was hard work, but Annienal managed to keep up with Lane's rowing as they made quicker pace to Fort Bonaparte. She felt tired afterwards, but a new sense of camaraderie washed over her. She followed Lane to the meeting spot, looking around for any familiar face. "Um, hi. My name's Annienal Anavir. It's a pleasure to meet you two." Annienal couldn't remember if she'd had any run ins with the Watch, but she was more than positive the only paladin she'd met was Vindsval, and even then she was unsure if he was a member of the order Yu Shu was in.
  14. Annienal moves closer to Althior and whispers in his ear. "Blackgull seemed honourable enough last I met him. It's his wife that terrifies me." Annienal relays. "She... boiled a man alive in front of all of us using her magic. I... still see his skin turning red and steaming some nights." Annienal took in a few deep breaths, attempting to keep her fears under control.
  15. "Oh, um... my apologies, I heard Heckz say your name was Aldieor, so-" Annienal stops and ponders on what she just uttered. After a few second she shakes her head looking ashamed. "I, um, see where I've made my mistake." "It seems both the Sungold Alliance and the Crescent Union had the opportunity to mend relations with the poor and blew both."
  16. "How exactly are the people of the Hovels going to both serve the Bonaparte fleet and go to Xu at the exact same time? I, um, don't mean to sound rude, but I don't believe your leaders have thought this through." Annienal replies, huffing as she tries to catch her breath. She was used to moving under her heavy armour, but the crowd's quick assemblage had caught her off guard. "Lane, I could, um, assist with the oars for a moment if you'd like. Is there another pair around here?" Annienal asks, looking around. Annienal notices Aldieor's medal, hoping to infer he was with the Sungold Alliance. "So, um... what resolution did you vote for, Aldieor?" Annienal asks, trying to make small talk, while also trying to figure out just what was going on.
  17. Karie begins to pack her things. "Well, either way, I'm out of her. I've been cooped up in this hall for too long. If anyone needs me I'll be home. See ya." With that, Karie takes her leave out of the hall and into the streets of Eubric.
  18. Realizing the fight is coming to a close, Annienal downs a depleted consumer core. Considering who was left, joining the frey felt like overkill.
  19. I had to go look up the Ghostbusters and Doctor Who stuff. Honestly, if I was ten, I'd be all over that Playmobil Ghostbusters.
  20. "It's my pleasure to announce our first movie." -Meh Emoji I mean, do the Sony executives seriously have the gaul to honestly believe that they're hit a gold mine that will secure them a movie franchise that will last them until the end of time? I haven't seen this amount of self assuredness since Pokemon: The First Movie! This movie won't bomb. It'll make it's money, because emojis, those little icons you use on social media to help convey tone, are apparently all the rage with kids. The poop emoji has slippers and a hat so it looks like your wearing a swirly piece of dog feces with a face on you noggin. There's also little plushies for the faces as well. I mean, I don't see the appeal at all of surrounding oneself with actual poop, but somehow marketers managed to do it. That's not saying the film will be good, but bad movies do make their money back. Look at the Smurfs, or Alvin and the Chipmunks. This is obviously fallout from The Lego Movie being successful: take some product without any real sense of a narrative and slap "The Movie" onto it. That's not saying it can't work. The thing with The Lego Movie is that it was actually an excellent movie.
  21. Annienal nervously nods at Aldieor. The rabbling of the mob was beginning to get under her skin as the shouts and bottles was putting undue pressure she didn't expect to witness at the current moment in time. Annienal strikes Mob A from the back row.
  22. "If you're trying to frighten me, you're doing a god awful job." Karie replies, twitching to get a reaction. "Walking away? Clearly you're too much of a coward to actually see what I'm capable of." Karie shrugs her shoulders and smirks. "Guess this means I've come out victorious." "I don't really care if he's your friend or not, I think he's a chump and he needs to be sent down a peg." Karie states, taking a seat at Kellim's table. "There's probably a few demons I left out... it was a long and complicated affair, and it's an event I prefer not to look back on." "I honestly believe the demon problem's getting slightly better. I've heard Baba has been vanquished, and with her dead it can only bring good things forward. She was known for conspiring with arch demons, and her death vanquished one back to the Void. Vigilance is the best way to deal with the menace." "Who knows, anything's possible. I'm hoping to head out soon to Xu and see what's going on there. Apparently the Crescent Union has decided on sending citizens to Xu and they want heroes to scout the area out or something. It's work, and it's not work involving the Sungold Alliance." Karie pours herself a glass of water and begins to drink.
  23. Annienal continues to prod Mob D, moving back to the back row.
  24. I think I'm in agreement with everyone else. You'll have to give me a minute to gather actual words! This is great work!
  25. "Um..." Annienal can't proceed any further without being interrupted by the strangely dressed man. "Um... I feel like you should focus on the bottles and not on me, seeing how-" Just as she's about to finish Heckz falls into the water after a bottle is tossed his direction. "Um, I can block bottles with my shield."
